Again, I like Archie because it's cool and awesome and has fighting drama and takes itself serious and is over the top. I can't go reading two pages without getting pumped reading Ian's old writing style.To add onto what I said, Archie Sonic is just so cool. The way he talks sarcastically is cool. The art style after 160 is cool, and the action is constant. There's a big world that's filled with lore and stuff. Everything is so big and epic and dramatic. And the romance stuff, I usually ignored it besides the Sonally parts, and even then, the Sonally is validating my dislike on Sonamy.This is why I have trouble understanding why people think that Archie Sonic is just not enjoyable. If you look at the "What" and not the "Why" or "How", there is plenty of stuff that appeals to some people in Archie.Maybe it isn't Sonic, but it is super for certain.

The absolute best way to write Sonic himself is to make Tails, Amy and Knuckles the main characters. If you try to make Sonic himself the main character, then Tails, Amy and Knuckles will only look like jokes, yet you will constantly be compelled to fill those roles anyway. Next thing you know, you need new insecure kids for Sonic to inspire, new damsels or magical girls for Sonic to rescue either literally or spiritually, and new rivals for Sonic to battle and compete with... which only make Tails, Amy and Knuckles look more and more like jokes because their primary role as "core characters" is to fill those roles specifically. But every new character introduced filling any of those roles in brand new ways, means that they're gonna occupy the "protagonist" role in Sonic's place for their respective story, which means the audience will become emotionally attached to them, which means that character becomes too much of an instant fan favorite to ever be forgotten or left behind. And so we'd get an entire extended cast of characters we don't even know what to do with.
