Other possible explanation was the the Sacred Grove was Castle Town, but that doesn't really mesh with the rest of the map, since the Zoras, Gorons, Kakariko (both old and new) and Gerudo are all roughly in the same spots as they were in Ocarina.Since BotW came out, I've seen speculation that OoT's Hyrule Castle was were the Great Plateau is, which would place OoT's ToT near Faron like in TP. But that also doesn't quite gel, imo, since Lon Lon Ranch, Hyrule Field, Zora and Goron are all still oriented normally to how OoT has it opposed to confining everything to the lower left part of BotW's map (with Gerudo/Plateau/Lake Hylia/Faron). TP's map Hyrule Field is sort of weird in general. I think mostly because it's a string of disconnected corridors. It doesn't feel cohesive, and I might even guess was built pretty late into TP's development, and largely for the usage of the story events. I almost wonder if the game was going to have a 'proper' Hyrule Field at all initially.

They said during WW development that game was set after the adult ending so with TP having Ganondorf stopped and jailed like a normal criminal before he even found out he had a Triforce piece it's clear that game always took place after OoT too but after the child ending, there's no way they didn't realize they made the Temple of Time's ruins be as far away from the castle as possible and it's just ridiculous, it's like if EoW moved the castle to Death Mountain
