It's AI
Fallout's not the only game like this. There's recomps and overhaul mods for tons of games lately
>>
>>583862847
Almost decent, but doesn't make raids even close to as rewarding as they used to be. My problem is having to raid on 5 separate days as opposed to one hit a week and then you get the (probably buffed because of the extra 4*s) cache. The 10% chance as a repeatable is okay, but just okay.
>>
Here's another thing coming in the next update:
Some of the most underused legendary mods were the following 3 star armor/power armor mods
>Toxic: 5% chance to deal 12 poison damage per second for 7 seconds to melee attackers
>Burning: 5% chance to deal 19 fire damage per second for 3 seconds to melee attackers
>Frozen: 5% chance to deal 12 cryo damage per second for 4 seconds to melee attackers
First of all that's going up to a 30% chance per piece
Additionally, you'll now be able to put those 3-star mods on weapons as well, giving them poison/fire/cryo damage. That bonus damage scales with the amount of appropriate armor pieces you have equipped, so if you go all in on a particular type of mod for your armor, you can really boost your damage.
The armor will scale and deal more damage if you have a weapon of the same mod too, so they really synergize with each other
>>
>>583871547
I don't mind the AI use, as long as it's being done by people who actually know how to use it properly alongside a normal programming workflow
>>
>>583874329
I agree, there's a difference between AI slop meant to scam people out of money, and using it to make things never deemed possible
You can't take an extreme with the AI argument. The only people I could understand being upset with AI are those whose jobs are in jeopardy, everyone else only complains about "ai bad"

I don't think the Hebrews would have minded if the pyramids were built using ai.
>>
>>583874329
Most people don't have the slightest idea what they're doing, but there are a couple of gems like F76 port or that major UI and gameplay overhaul.
>>
>>583877195
What F76 port, are you talking about that TTW like mod that is going to bridge Fallout 4 with 76?
>>
>>583877603
Yeah
>>
man VATS Unchained is an absolute gem, that's how VATS in Fallout is meant to be, and it even comes with a crit damage modifier to fix the dogshit vanilla damage (I set mine to 4x and now it's viable like other builds)

I think they made the railway spike projectiles larger so that you can see the spikes sticking out when you pin limbs to surfaces. I guess it wasn't an oversight after all.

That ukr*nian cuck who almost killed himself working on the vehicles in Frontier(lol) on actual suicide watch right now. AI could have done his job for him in an afternoon.

Good luck with what? Enjoying the car content without the shitty fetish bloat mod that comes with it? Yes, I think I will, thank you very much.
I just realized that AI could possibly fix Frontier, that is to say make it less jank and possibly fix the badly designed/written missions. If AI can't do it, nobody will, The NCR story(entire thing) needs to go or be completely re-done, for starters. Hell, spit on the developers and add a proper Enclave questline, even if it's short it will be more than any of these hacks could ever do.
>>
>>583893593
I think it was a comment on a video he posted in 2023 showing off the standalone frontier cars but wouldn't post the files because he wanted to ego-trip, but someone made their own standalone out of the frontier files. speaking of frontier, are they still working on the re-work? I haven't seen anything about it in a long time now.
>>
>>583893823
Yeah
New Frontier is in development and they're completely cutting out the NCR questline

Well, see you guys in 2028 when this thing will surely come out after another 7 years, LMFAO!
I wonder if we will get to enslave more totally legit 18 years with smelly feet like this in the original mod?
>>
>>583893962
>video was posted 1 year ago
>longer video showcase to come in the next few weeks
>that's the latest video on their channel

I hope they can salvage something out of that clown show. it'd be shame to let all the work go to waste.

>>583894103
hell yeah, I'm excited to see what they have in store for us in 2031!
>>
>>583894103
The problem with the writing is that it was too self-indulgent.
>>
>>583894269
They're definitely working on it. Hitman posted some animations he made for them recently.

Writing, worldbuilding, characters, endings, it was all fucking awful. Crusader and Legion questlines were one thing, they were just the standard bad fanfic mod content you see all over the place. The whole NCR campaign and the various fetish encounters? Yeah, that sky rocketed Frontier all the way to the top of the cringe mountain. And don't get me started on all the "horror" segments some dude shoehorned in because he wanted to release his own horror mod but couldn't due to Frontier obligations(lol), they stick out like a sore thumb and they're all universally horrible.

Honestly, I have no fucking idea how it got so bad. New California didn't have this problem, neither did London, and Nevada/Sonora certainly weren't this fucking bad. This wasn't a passion project by one dev, there was an entire team working on this and apparently they all signed off on the shitty content for the mod, or at least were pressured into silence(rather infamously, the only one who spoke out was TK-Mantis and he was attacked by the Frontier team for it).
>>
>>583894623
at least we got some fun memes out of it thanks to tgspy's interview with tyler mcvicker. the shitposting back then was the most fun I've had on /fog/.

>>
>>583894623
I don't think it was that bad of a mod. Some parts like that scene with the deathclaw are absolute comedy gold and you can't change my mind. It just had too much hype and expectations. Something like the Thuggysmurf mods for Fallout 4 or the Vicn mods for Skyrim are literally on the same level and have universal respect that they definitely don't deserve.

NCR questline is the worst thing ever released for Fallout, period. Since it's a main quest, you can't avoid it either, if the mod was more open ended and encouraged side content and exploration a bit more, it would be one thing, but a huge chunk of content are the main faction quests(which are all awful). At least Thuggy's stuff is mostly side quest stories so they get less flak.
>>583895147
Oh yeah, plenty of Fallout videos coming out at that time too mocking it(Four Friends Play got their start thanks to Frontier). Cyberpunk also dropped around the same time, so it was definitely a winter to remember.
>>
>>583895874
NCR questline was bad, but the map was really good. That's probably the main reason I want this remake.
>>
>>583895971
The map doesn't mean much if there isn't anything to do on it. Most of the NCR questline is boring dungeon bullshit straight from Fallout 3(the only game most devs played btw, no they didn't finish New Vegas). I would give them credit for the map if it was used better, or if there was more focus on vehicles(there is only, what, one mandatory vehicle section in NCR campaign, not counting the shitty vertibird segments?). As is, it's a giant empty icebox, it may have a few more locations and quests than New California but it has the same problem where there is fuck all to really do in it aside from getting from point A to point B for the main story...which is awful.

Any mention of the damage going up for the armor effects, or is the weapon effect the only one with the scaling damage?
also prepare for the reintroduced PVP problem.

>>583899119
>Cryo is already rather powerful.
They may take the crippling approach and just ban its usefulness on most bosses.

I resized the bayonet and grabbed a high-quality texture mod. not sure what's going on with the vanilla textures since the automatic pistons have noticeably higher quality texture. I think the more compact look looks better and gives it more a train engine look.

that's so fucking stupid and garbage, fire more devs, how the fuck is that ever useful REALLY?
like okay best case scenario is against bigfoot or an assaultron intimidator and now 30% of the time that they slowly melee you you'll do a tiny bit of elemental damage to them??
just make it either 10% chance for ALL damage including ranged or 100% chance from melee, doing this bullshit 30% is so fucking stupid

Mines on the roof. No one bothers going for it because I keep all the other food generators inside all together near the front door so they never go looking.

are raids dead? like no new ones? what happened to burning springs getting a part 2 with a raid?
>>
I grabbed all the new vegas dlc's since they were on sale for 5 bucks but since I already got all the trophies for them back on the ps3 almost 20 years ago I've been getting the steam achievements via fucking around with scripts.

Made it so I could get all the honest hearts achievements if the game detected my position as (Player.getpos z >= 100000) and then spent an hour launching myself into the air via various methods. Making the fatman into the mirv from 3 and then firing straight down only got me about 70k if I did it at the highest point so I had to resort to physics.

Just made an apple poisonous and then made it so if someone ate it and died I'd get all the gun runners achievements.

>>
>>583900251
Yes the damage the armor will do to attackers also scales based on how many of the same mod you have equipped on your armor/weapon

>>583899119
That's the big problem I see. Everyone loves cryo, but the other DoT effects need something more helpful.
Like maybe poison could stack and burning could lower a target's damage reduction
>>
Is there a mod which adds forced idle animations? Like push a button and sit on the ground or dance. Not in photo mode. Been looking for something like this for Skyrim too.
>>
Shelters are kind of useless. Would be cool if events could spawn in them randomly, or players could set up challenges/minigames/gambling.
>>
>>583895365
Vicn mods definitely deserves the praise with exception of his newest release, Glenmoril is especially good. I don't think Frontier is complete garbage personally, it's just not nearly on the same level.

They should move the Horde activities that Infestations displaced into shelters. All of a sudden a horde of scorchbeast or fog crawlers have infested your shelter. Delete them!
>>
>>583931418
i know i'd use them more if you could fast travel directly into a specific shelter when going to a camp.
having to sit through multiple load screens ruins the point though
(also they seriously gotta go through and fix them, like half of them have busted lighting)
