For most Link/Synchro decks, the pool of cards they can access is yes all of them outside of type/attribute/archetype locks.For most Xyz decks, the pool of cards they can access are whatever Level/Rank they have as part of their monster lineup, and even something like Rank Ups (like DoomZ and K9) are limited to just a select few in Graflario incidentally being a Rank 5 and the 2 Rank 9 K9s. Even something like Ryzeal would basically still mostly be making Rank 4s (and maybe bridging into the rank ups) if it were only locked into Xyzs rather than Rank 4s.Fusion is technically limited by its Attribute/Typing since Konami is limited by Super Poly and not wanting to print fusions that every single fusion archetype can access, but even Fusion archetypes get pretty fucking sloppy, Artmage, Branded Dracotail, the Spellcaster sloppile, etc
