Instant kill headshot guns are a lot less dangerous if you can build cover on the fly that can eat a shot, and the same goes for zero-spread scoped rifles. Mobility isn't "as" important if you can build a bridge on any ravine. Some of the more annoying weapons like the Gatekeeper in ZBs were rendered inert by Builds only allowing one shot off in high intensity fights, and follow-up shots on walls forced a reload. The list goes on. These maps were never made for ZB, so you have giant open fucking nothingness to slowly sprint across without abusing cars or mobility items. All the inherent issues ZB has from the game's structure being primed for Build balancing has resulted in a bunch of awkward bandaids like porta-bunkers, the mobility item rule change for pocket items, glider redeploys, etc, and it's still flagrantly underbaked. But all of that does create a lot more of an uphill struggle; if it weren't for the bots, on average yeah a ZB player wouldn't be a twitchy 90 cranking weirdo the same way, but they'll have built up a lot more in other fields to compensate for shit.That, and as the other anon inferred, genre skill carryover works a lot here. If you've played a ton of Warzone or Apex, if you play many shooters in general, ZB is just generally going to have the high skill transfer between games, while Builds come off as this alien design philosophy til they ever bother to adapt to it. Most shooters train you to never stop moving unless you're camp sniping, not hunkering down constantly to trade hits.
