Fire mons are massively dependent on Fire Debuff since it's their only resistance shred and their moves often want it on the enemy in large amounts. They even need it for fucking regen, ridiculous. It took me stupid long to realize I should be using mega aniipods on alpha mons, not ultras or regular pods. Each alpha caught gives you the red markers for skill upgrades, and mega pods have twice the catch rate (14 compared to 7) and are constantly being replenished at the RV if you remember to fish them out of storage manually.

Playing Scorchowl will get you frozen really easily too since you're in melee range and also if you get broken at any point during this fight she almost always switches into Gylnsera which is basically certain death for whoever you have out. Eventually I tried black hole spam and was able to kill Geoclaw so that gave me some hope, but I was still a bit too slow to kill Glacy. I was only able to finally beat her on a lucky attempt where she decided to stay in on Glacy for an unusually long time and let my Fulmintus kill it early on.
