Okay it works now, cool and all but the presentation is not good, obviously.I do want the analogic feel so I'm keeping the CRT screen curve and shader, but what sort of computer screen would a spaceship use really?Maybe I could lean even further into Alien and do what they did with the stupid ruler/grids all over their screens, and big ass buttons that glow randomly.
>slopped all the framework for the game>now have to actually make good puzzleswell shit
>>584088605Ooooh, alien isolation, right, that was a thing, maybe this is the way.
>be me>not working as much on my game as I decide to reduce storage taken space on pc>play demos i downloaded>uninstall several>2 or 3 now that I can't even play, apparently demo was revoked>pull one up>game already released in early access, it's a clone of some other game>it flopped>this dev finally went for a big game after years of medium and small size games and failedWell I have a feeling I know why>another one cloning the same game he was cloning appeared>said cloners game looks higher qualityMust feel terrible finally going for a big game and it flopping.

>>584087191moved some UI elements into cockpit panels, also optional PiP zoom in first person since the instruments won't be visible otherwise when zoomed in. still placeholder models.>>584087404I think you're getting into a common AI problem where you're prompting for the wrong thing, mech/mechanical movement are actually one of those things the AI can do very well since it's analytical. You've probably already have the movement code for the mech and are just asking the LLM to animate the legs or something, and the LLM will just do a basic IK animator for the legs to satisfy your requirement when what you really want is probably a full IK driven body planner so the legs can coordinate and the body reacts realistically to the kinematics.I find this is a common problem with LLMs that they will build stuff that's obviously suboptimal even when it can easily implement the correct solution because it takes your initial prompt very literally and won't pick any approach that even slightly deviate from your prompt/initial context.you kind of of have to already have the technical experience to know what exactly you want to get best results. You can kind of migrate this by going though several rounds of exploratory sessions with the AI to nail down the requirements, but at the end of the day LLMs have no taste so they can still miss stuff really obvious to humans if you don't specifically ask for it.

>>584090064funny how everyone seems to want to make mech games nowadays, when I looked at steam's mech category earlier I was like 'what the fuck how did I miss all these' I understand what you're saying, because that's what opus told me to go for right from the get go (well, close enough to that at least) and I've had it in game since, and it's 'good', like way better than I could implement it for sure, but as you said, since it's got no taste: it makes a lot of mistakes that you have to fiddle with and adjust (either yourself or telling them to -> which can lead to tardwrangling depending on.... the moon phase, I still get surprised at times at how easy it is for it to understand something pretty convoluted, and then it just CANNOT understand something that should otherwise be simple, pic related is an example of that: I probably spent 20minutes trying to get gpt/grok/claude to understand that what I want is for the armor surrounding the cockpit of this bitch to go the OTHER WAY AROUND, and I provided pictures of that stupid insect that has it, and it would tell me word for word and explain to me that yes, it in fact understands what I want: and then the output would be the opposite.) Anyways, can't wait to see what the fuck they'll be capable of doing in a few years. And can't wait to try your game too.
>>584089529I'll play this if I can shoot another planet from the planet I'm on using a big old thing I build out of wood and stuff, or I can cause a hurricane on that planet, I'm jewish

>>584089529gonna be honest, I don't care about your project because I really can't give a fuck about pvp in games anymore (especially in a post AI world, playing against sonnet 7? no thanks), but this reminds me that I would fucking love no man's sky if the combat didn't suck fucking assI'd pay big money to have a real no man's sky like game with actual combat (on foot and dogfighting) that is all
