I've come around on thieves. The multipliers on Sneak Attack suck, and wasting a turn on hiding sucks harder, but the bonus stats put in work. As your fighters are able to get more and more EVA and SUR through gear the Thief skills are worth less and less against regular enemies, but then eventually you move away from farming hobbers and start fighting shit like the Sword Fiend that your fighters just aren't able to crit and now thieves get competitive, especially Linaria who sometimes doesn't have to waste a turn hiding.

That's why I tossed the calculator together so you could figure out the exact value for your characters and gear.

Like you start for the porn, and then by the end you're trying to figure out equipment builds for the arena and the post-game tower dungeon. The party is fixed to the main character and your choice between 2 other characters and a summon slot, but there is an quite a bit of depth once you get deeper into the game and unlock more options. The music is pretty good too.
