>>584263918probably that's the joke since some games/mods just dump an item that was used for research altogether because fuck you
>>584263057That picture was Satisfactory for meI stopped when it invented entirely new assemblers for the nuclear crap

>>584267592I've never rebuilt anything in Satisfactory. Just max out whatever set of nodes I'm working with, hook it up to my train network, then go somewhere else

>>584267592Why would you ever rebuild anything in Satisfactory? The resource nodes are infinite, I never rebuilt a single thing. I left everything running right until I beat the game, even the very first builds I made. Rather than spending time tearing shit down to rebuild I'd much rather just go place a miner on a new node and build whatever new thing I need.
>get excited in shower thinking about factorio>actually play factorio>excitement declines to zero
Has anyone here played Reassembly? I remember playing this to bits a long while ago and was wondering if anyone else did. The dev never did anything else, which is a shame. its mechanics are very simple and yet lead to a lot of diverse stuff. I just wish the endgame wouldnt always translate to building the biggest fucking ship ever and steamrolling everything.

>>584277153get an IRL hobby
>>584277425I did, back in 2016. I swear that was a flash game which played really like it (you did missions and assembled a ship from parts but a lot simpler of course).Ship building is fun and some factions were complete while others were extremely barren. Campaign-play was disappointing.Try Cosmoteer if you haven't already. A lot more focused on command, proper crews and industry at cost of part variety.

>>584303052spin air really fast, air gets really hot and compressed, add some fuel, big boom goes out the exhaust
>>584276438>rebuildCould have meant building the same thing but for a different process. I had a smelter design I had to build half a dozen times when I upgraded my belts/miners to a higher tier. No point in changing the design either since it worked perfectly
>>584281203Cosmoteer and also SPAZ/SPAZ2, although that one is more casual it's the same principle. In the end my issue with both games was lategame balance, you lose so much even in a successful battle it takes too long to bounce back afterwards.
>>584277153
>>584306315Yeah that's true, you definitely have to build the same thing multiple times, but also it's not like that's unique to Satisfactory. It's not like in Factorio you don't build the same kind of smelter column over and over as long as you have no better tech unlocked.
>>584311956It's the scale. Factorio doesn't even require that big of a base to launch a rocket and beat the game. Meanwhile in Satisfactory your base is going to be fuckhuge and full of dozens of interconnected recipes that you end up needing to beat the game. If you want to speed up your waiting you need to build even bigger which can get to be a pain in the ass with how slow it is. I even skipped Nuclear entirely because I knew that would be another 5 hours to set up compared to shoving slugs in my rocket fuel plant instead and calling it good enough. The main problem is that building in satisfactory sucks shit with the tiny blueprint machines. I don't know if they ever changed it but you couldn't even import your MK1 design into the bigger ones because they weren't compatible for some fucking reason. Plus I played before they added blueprint auto-connect whateverthefuck so I had to do all that shit manually every time I used a blueprint. If I ever play again it will be with mods like SMART! that cut down the tedium and make it far more enjoyable. I think it's telling that some of the most popular mods for satisfactory are badly needed quality of life while the most popular factorio mods are part of a content overhaul.
>>584304367Instructions unclear, spinning two drills off a 20-turbine jet engine.
>>584318383>>584303052you push air out the back, faster than it comes in the front
>>584315727>Factorio doesn't even require that big of a base to launch a rocketSure but launching a rocket is very early mid-game at best, or are you pretending SA doesn't exist? In general I would say the actual factory building requirements are significantly more robust in Factorio since progressing your research requires previous sciences as well and as such you're incentivized to build a factory that can always work at capacity and produce all its outputs simultaneously. There's infinite science available early in the game and once you're off-planet you also need a steady supply of parts to make rockets.Meanwhile in Satisfactory you only need certain items in very limited numbers and there's no real need for continuous production of anything, you can skimp far more on factory construction and there's no requirement at all to make it all work simultaneously if you want to build minimally.
>>584311956storage breaks satisfactoryanything more advanced than rotors you will only need to build one time, since if you just slap a container in front it will hold enough to end the game, and it will make enough to end the game while you go do other things
>>584263057STORMWORKS ON /EGG/ WE ARE BACK.
>>584321024Hey, You were building a crane last time.I need the following things from your crane. 1. I need to have a control station on it, 2. It needs to be remote control 3. It needs to have a pipe connection for sea water on a winch and 4. It needs to be extendable a long way.I can make your vehicle into steam, if you wish with an optimized generator if you tell me your total swatt usage.
here comes the laundry list again
>>584321547Yeah I agree, Satisfactory has no real requirement for constant production.
I know at least one of these schizos.
>>584323578Is it Alfred?
>>584289598>electric with crane on backAha found it.
>>584326284Can the crane be used to collect fuel? and why not add a forklift to hitch on the back like a parasite forklift. You know while your at it, give it a snowplow the front of your train.
>>584321624Not gonna lie seeing people talk about it makes me want to launch it again....except in the back of my head I know I'll just quickly get reminded of why I stopped playing it because of how fucking jank everything is despite the game having been in development for god knows how many years. Sure love how walking around gets you stuck on everything and how climbing a ladder randomly launches you up into the air. And how there's a million parts yet zero information of what they do and how to use them besides old forum posts and 5+ year old youtube tutorials; there is a wiki but 90% of it is either a stub or horribly outdated. Oh yeah and how spawning and despawning a vehicle causes you to lose a few litres of diesel each time for no fucking reason which I assume still hasn't been fixed years later.
>>584326778>why not add a forkliftFor what purpose? The train can drive to the cargo using the truck wheels.
>>584326931Never been launched by a ladder before.>>584327225Is your crane on a turret ring?
>>584328134Yeah turret ring full of weight blocks.
>>584328484What's the total width of your vehicle? I take it. 13 for rail standardized and 18 high? And is it diesel or coal? Or solar?

>>584308402>In the end my issue with both games was lategame balance, you lose so much even in a successful battle it takes too long to bounce back afterwards. How so? In Cosmoteer late game you could get so many resources from destroyed ships and bases that you could just stop caring about strategy at all. I would send 3 large ships and just sacrifice one of them while the other two would flank enemies. There was always so much stuff I would instantly rebuild the first one and call my cargo ship to pick up all the remaining trash.
>>584338638Maybe I played an early version, don't remember having more than one ship.
>>584339049I was playing it in 2024. You could just press a button to create new ships and just use a blueprint or build from scratch next to your ship or a station. You could take over enemy ships too.
>>584337749>Not as big as the base game>Massive underground map, single point of entry, limited logistics between surface and DLC>Finishing Phase 1 of base game unlocks DLC entrance>Progression separate from base game, drill instead of elevator>Still working on endgame loop>No price point>Simultaneous release on consoles, Steam, Epic Game Store>New ways to move items>Entire expansion is underground>No terraforming because hand-crafted map and performance>New creatures>No decision yet on achievements>Multiplayer does not need all players to own DLC, but whoever is hosting the map needs to have it>No release date, not 2026, "early to midway"
>>584342578I chuckled when I realized what they're doing here. Knowing most people start getting sick of the game even before it ends (because building at scale is such a pain), they did not add more content after the end like Factorio or COI. Instead they will add another parallel optional activity on top of the MAM tree, slugs, sloops, sphere and harddrives. So that you have more stuff to do while you wait for your small shitty factory to finish its job, instead of having to expand it.
>>584345713They seemed to say that there isn't much interaction between the surface and underground, so it's basically just the same game, but undergroundSo less "parallel progression" and more "do the same stuff as normal Satisfactory, but underground"I can understand the appeal, but it's not for me.
>>584342578>limited logistics between surface and DLCThat's a shame, I was hoping some of the things you unlock down there would be able to impact the way you play the rest of the game, how you build and so on. It sounds like it's just more content on a parallel track though, which I don't mind but I think it would've been a lot more interesting if the new stuff had the potential to impact the game as a whole rather than just being some other thing on the side.
>>584348185So it's standard Angel's, but you get wind turbines and can make filtered mineral sludge from water. Sounds like a pain. Ore processing on its own takes up more space than a whole base in vanilla.
>>584277425I remember thisMy line of ships as I made eventually evolved into a giant phallus so I modded it to shoot a massive load of hot plasma as a special attack
>>584277425Fucked around with it until I got 100% chievos, took about 75 hoursFun game, even more fun with mods but ultimately very shallow
Finally got fed up with my nexelit shortages now that I'm using the dang thing for olefins and whatnot.
>>584348658Not sure what's going on with the icons, but he's using an early garbage recipe to convert mineralized water from crushed stone and water into sapphrite and stiratite. It's what you use in seablock before you research mineral sludge and filtration.>sounds like a painThat's because it is. Those wind turbines are terrible and only exist to allow you do do anything before steam engines.
>>584357035No, I can see mineralized water going up to the algae. He's turning regular water into mineral sludge, which the crystallizers turn into ore. Used to turn it into sorted ore, but angel guy nerfed it at some point.
>>584357924Ok then that's just fucked up. Of all things to nerf, why that? It looks to be nearly the same recipe as mineralized water, too. I would guess that it's a very inefficient and slow version of the slag+acid->sludge chain because otherwise it would make things way too easy.
>>584358346You don't get acid for sludge until green science and not even at the beginning of green science. Same research is also required for crystallizers too. The game gives you 20 and that's all you get until thenI don't remember a lot of this the last time I played Seablock. I think the guy who updated it for 2.0 rebalanced a lot of stuff and I think he did a worse job of it. The most egregious thing is the only landfill recipe you get is 50 stone until you hit green science and can actually use mud to make landfill which is not how it used to work. At least not in the version I played.
>>584360080Get in whatever discourse platform they're using and voice your concerns. It's an experimental port after all.

Apparently, I like building things, and doing it nicely. I think that I like logistics too, but I think many things, some of them may be wrong.Point is, I'm thinking that I'm playing the game (Satisfactory, but I imagine in Factorio I'd run into same issue) very wrong. It's my second playthrough, and I thought to myself, "I will make a big and nice rail network, all my stuff will be interconnected and there will be many trains delivering things all over the place". Now it's final phase, I look around and I realize I did exactly same shit I did first time, just in different spots on the map. It's a bunch of self-sufficient factories that do their own things. Technically I could connect them together with trains, but none of those factories produce anywhere near enough for any of production goals. They only produce enough for "me", that is, to support my building process.I have been thinking, so I need to build bigger, better factories, that create enough things for production. But how do I build those, if I don't have materials to build them with? Like, you could say, "what's stopping you from building those bigger, better factories NOW", and the issue is, my save file is nearing 200 hours, it's last elevator stage, and from what I understand by looking at other people's factories and networks, they already have those things ready by this point, so I have been doing things very wrongly and managed to reach the endgame by some mistake, or thanks to relaxed requirements imposed on me by the game. So, how do I start building properly if I don't have materials to do so, and need to start first with factories for factories, and doing so takes me 200+ hours?
