What's really the most OOC in the first place is Sonic sticking with Yuuta. Why? Sonic is a free form of life, he does whatever he wants, going to other places. He doesn't slow down ever for anyone. He goes to others and never asks for any partners to get along with. Tails goes with him because he can keep up with.It makes sense why this is uncanon. Sonic is not some pet for this OC which is just Chris 2.

The longer this manga goes on, the more apparent it is that Imada doesn't actually want to write a Sonic story or at the very least he doesn't want to use the cast he has right now.Amy is about as fast as Sonic who in this manga can apparently outright high speed monorails. The idea that she can't stop a few boulders from flying around and hitting people is ridiculous and that's not even touching on the fact that Sonic getting speed blitzed like that should be categorically impossible without time stop or teleportation.

It's not even just that it's boring, this literally can't happen in the game canon unless that thing has some godlike powers. Amy is the lead female character so she's effectively just as much of a protagonist as Sonic himself, when allowed to be, by virtue of being his Minnie Mouse. Knuckles is Sonic's Rival and fighting buddy. Most anime or other series have that exact character role be the deuteragonist, with the rivalry driving the story. Here though, that role is often projected onto Shadow at times, but Shadow being the Dark Sonic whose become another "heroic" figure makes him another lead protagonist by default. And Silver is just an attempt to repeat Shadow's success, but as a "Light" Sonic. Blaze's very existence is being the lead protagonist of her own story with her own world and everything, on equal level to Sonic but being his polar opposite foil at the same time. But none of them compare to Tails, because Tails is the secret to what makes Sonic work as the lead character. And that secret is that Tails is the rea protagonist, not Sonic. Never Sonic. Sonic works best when someone else is the "protagonist" that we relate to or follow, while Sonic embodies the story's message and themes that character is dealing with. Tails is the living embodiment of that specific role, as the avatar for the player to project onto. Sonic & Tails as our main duo, is really a story that is (or should be) about Tails, while it's all branded and marketed and sold under Sonic's name with Sonic in the spotlight as the thing that draws us all in.
