It might be fun to try but they've made it a lot harder to rely on one or two spells or pick a particularly dominant strat- It used to be if you could nail at least part of the "full combo" reliably you'd have a good effect and you could focus on one thing you really liked. But now it's gotten to where they assume anyone playing Invoker mains him so the "barrier to entry" isn't factored into his power, you have to fully capitalize on every aspect of the hero just to tread waterStill, you can have a little fun just maxing Q or W and spamming tornado/EMP and ice wall/cold snap
i cannot think of something more embarrassing than losing as a 5 stack to a team with a 1-2-2 spread. You have the full advantage of being in comms with 5 people who all know eachother and have the experience of knowing how they usually think and play their own heroes and you still found a way to lose to a ragtag team of people who don't who barely talk to eachother

But you have 175 pure damage global invisible nuke so while you're patiently getting cucked in the lane you come back by having other 8 players actually interact and hopefully you get to kills steal.If this doesn't happen your option is to hit backline camps and proceed to wait some more shit to happen.If everything goes well you get to play the game and occassionally spawn forge spirits and push the lanes. Of course a true Invoker player never microes them so those are gold and xp donations for the enemy team from the start to the end.

For me, a difficult hero is not the one with the most spells or the need to press buttons in a specific sequence or the ability to press buttons in the first place. The real difficulty with Invoker to me lies in the fact that if he's throwing a combo, you're going to be passive for the next 30 seconds. His spells are commital. So I wrote that shit in jest but I really do think that "landing a sunstrike" is not difficult. In pro play you're not expected to hit a sunstrike that's not thrown on a stun early game because it's unreasonable, hitting it on a non-stunned target is mostly a random chance and not skill based unless you're a craiyon eater that can't calculate ms and landing time. You cannot know the outcome once you throw a sunstrike because you don't really know how someone will move. The same way Meepo is tehnically more difficult hero than Phoenix at first glance but Phoenix revolves around one perfect ability and that is the egg. Meepo has more buttons to press and requires a lot other things that Phoenix doesn't but he is not nearly as commital as Phoenix.I tend to hate Invoker players a lot since they're giant egoists and I always eat them on mid. They're picking a greedy hero and expecting sunstrike kills. The hero is kind of a creep without some passive mid matchup and sunstrike kills on the side. You're also tehnically stealing the gold that would get in your sidelane's pocket that they've spend resources securing though of course hundreds of pure damage is sometimes a reason why the kill happens in the first place but most of the times not honestly.It's also a hero that aside from sunstrike doesn't impact the early game that much and that is very important on mid. You are less capable of counter-tping because you deliver less. Good players are gonna punish this by playing active.
