here's a /sfg/ street fighter general in case yall don't wanna only talk about sf6

Are there any fighting games that are similar to SF4 that AREN'T SNK games?
Everyone thinks a game is different, but to me SF4 is: (and I'll add why I personally think other games fail in this regard)

>simple moves and mechanics (most anime games fail here)
>non cluttered gameplay (assist games fail here)
>1on1 (team fighting games fail here)
>short block strings (a lot of anime games have incredibly long block strings)
>short combos (a lot of anime games fail here)
>decently difficult combos (a lot of games either have extremely simple combos like SFV, or insanely difficult combos like Tekken)
>scary gameplay (mainly SFV that fails here)

That last part about "scary gameplay", what I mean by that is that you're always on edge. SF2 is a good example of a game that is scary while not being very complicated, while SFV is a game that isn't scary.

Anyway, are there any games that are similar to what I think SF4 is like? It doesn't have to be perfect but the closer the better. I'm getting bored of SF4 and hoping I can find something new.

Please don't take this as bashing on other games. Obviously other people like those games otherwise they wouldn't have players. This is just my personal taste

want to pick the game back up, but I want to play a less popular character this time. Is ingrid still popular? I'm between Ingrid/Manon/Marissa right now, i dont want to play real low picks like sim/blanka/honda because i have hated them since SF4

I assumed so, but couldn't tell since im not activley playing. I assumed she would fall off though. Its hard to tell with just the capcom stats page. Cool they have it at least. She seems to have a much more comprehensive gameplan than Manon or Marissa at least
