It seems like "Will" is the most fundamental force in Dragon's Dogma similar to Berserk. The world is some gnostic fantasy setting, where "Will" rewards/punishes people for using "Will" correctly. Use "Will" the wrong way, get brined. Use "Will" the right way, become royalty. The Arisen is like Neo, he *can't* be brined, so the world bargains with him instead, makes him thinks he's winning but he's in a cycle of eternal return, only using "Will" in a acceptable manner. If he somehow uses it in an unacceptable manner he becomes a demon or something. But even then the depictions are weird gnostic inversions, so evil ends up being "wrongthink" and heroism ends up being "right-think"

The sheer volume of fire flying around with two archers and a mage with deific bolt is kind of absurd. I can barely get close enough to regular enemies before they get peppered by arrows and holy bolts. It’s a bit difficult to get screenshots that aren’t full of bloom, exploding arrows and glaring lights too, even with effects turned down. Sure makes for some nice moments when the entire team is standing together and aiming though.

Archer is never in any danger at any point in any fight and has extremely high knockdown potential. Mage and Sorcerer are vulnerable when incanting, but they can also just move to a safe spot away from a fight or use Palladium in Mage's case. Since other classes tend to be able to do higher upfront damage in general, they're often able to simply deal with a foe straight up instead of having to counter, knock something down or maintain it's attention. They all do a similar job in different ways, that's literally all I said.

>>584683561I would assume the difference is that the royalty aspect is our Arisen's goal from the start and much of the game is spent dealing specifically with reobtaining that role so that's the reward they bargain with when the cycle is off-kilter without a dragon to make the deal, whereas in the first game the Arisen was only a generic self insert for the hero trope playing out the cycle normally.You can still see the usual rewards for failing to become Seneschal with the other Maister Arisens like the dwarf and elf couple for example.

Today I learned you can't start the Norgan stuff while in the Unmoored World. This game does everything in its power to make itself worse, I swear.Does anyone know if all the Lost Rites Dungeons are completable without any special Norgan gear? I was fighting one boss that seemed to have an absurd amount of health compared to what I'd been dealing with before, but there might just be some gimmick to killing it.

Why no player ever try to give their melee pawns good slash resistance? If you fail to save your pawn the slash res gives them more than enough time to survive, i got my fighter some really good gear that gave her 67% (not joking) slash res and ghouls in hard barely did any damage to her, i assume you can get 80% at max, its a huge defensive skill.

Is it "better" to wear x2 rings that increase vocation XP, or x2 rings that increase level XP? I'm guessing character XP and slowly level through vocations normally. I feel like the stat increases are far better than any augments. I'm planning on playing/maxing out all vocations except Warfarer as it looks boring.
