Violet is stupidly overtuned what the fuck.I laned against a Yamato and pretty much farmed her for movespeed buffs. The 2 allows for braindead rotations. Her ult is EASY gank shit use that everytime. And her 1 decreasing her skill AND ITEM COOLDOWNS is stupid as fuck.Even just using it for a bit her paint ability too makes blocking off paths really fucking easy.

I've seen a lot of complaining that Violet is very plain compared to other characters, but I think we should give her more time to shine. The beauty of Deadlock's characters is often that there's a twist to a trope or a layer hidden underneath their presentation that isn't immediately obvious until they are confronted with someone who can create interesting friction.As an example Lash has interactions with 24 other characters while Violet still only has interactions with 12. If you only had half of Lash's convos to work with you would probably think he's the most one note character ever, but with the full set we can catch glimpses of his kayfabe breaking which makes him a much more interesting character.Honestly I felt a similar way about Solomon at first. Sure he had a lot of aura and the board configurations detail is cool, but it seemed like he was some perfect, wise Gary Stu with no flaws that everyone looked up to and that no one, not even Seven, could rattle him. As more interactions have come out though, especially the one with Danny implying that he may be putting on an act, and the reveal that he regularly talks with McGinnis the resident arms manufacturer it became clear that there's going to be more underneath the surface that we will get to see over time.

Personally I feel like she is very well executed in her voice work that makes her a sort of “child immigrant to college student” concept that she has.She has a rather grounded but honest approach to how she acts and behaves that honestly kind of makes her stand out compared others who have a more extreme aspect around them (like Billy being very punk-ish angry, Pockets moodiness or Grey Talon being very vengeful/depressed) that also has an interesting angle for an artist character in terms of her goals and values (at least to me she does, it feels more personal centric rather than art centric to me).She kind of feels like a bit of fresh air and it honestly saddens me that others don’t feel the same way, to the point of acting like she’s just like the actual generic personalities like Luna Snow for example, when she clearly isn’t the case.
