It's not unreasonable to have preconceived notions about a character before they're properly introduced. If these expectations are subverted, it's natural the audience would have some type of reaction. Not showing something is also a form of indirect writing. Keeping Phoenix out of the picture with nobody really mentioning her or talking about her would naturally lead one to believe she's not as tight with the rest of them. Now, suddenly, all of them, even the cold and aloof Promeia, are goofing off with her. That's a complete reversal of how things were shown before. Imagine if it was the other way around where everyone talks about how much they hang out with Phoenix, only for her reveals to show her sad and alone with nobody caring for her.

>>584764158I think that's more of an issue with Gachas, characters usually don't appear until it's their turn, we didn't see Shunguang until 2.4 even though she is the loved disciple of Yunkui, we didn't see Orph or Flora when Trigger came out even though she's attached by the hip to them, I'd argue the one appearance we had of Phoenix painted her out as a silly char more than a lonesome agent from the get go, though you could say the teaser trailer was being misleading by showing her all alone in a sea of lava, but, honestly, when are those teasers not misleading? although it did come out way after that first silly inter-knot post, so, there's that too, the groundwork for her was set way before.They kind of stablished that Krampus members don't really hang out together that much with Dialyn and Zhao interactions, so while they look playful and friendly with Phoenix, it doesn't mean they are hanging out too often, it may just be a friendly colleague or junior-senior situation (in JP, Dialyn and Zhao call Phoenix "senpai"), and at least in the Demo they're also doing a TV Show so it could all be just for the cameras, though I don't doubt that they do get along outside of that, since Zhao seems to be kind of Phoenix's caretaker.Still though, it's not smart to take your own interpretations as canon, less so of a character that wasn't released yet, and then act as if it had to be interpreted that way by everybody else, I'm pretty sure it's going to happen with Sunbringer too because people seem to have different interpretations of her based on her few appearances (some believe she's cold and distant from the trailers, others that she's actually kind of a softie from Drac and Lind dialogues and so on), so I'm sure we'll see a repeat of anons saying how they changed her personality even though it isn't yet truly stablished.
