i think the harsh reaction violet is getting is partly because luna snow was getting trashed on as a specific example for ultra glazing/nothingburger character writing and violet (for the most part even though its leagues better than anything rivals can offer) is now the luna snow equivalent for deadlockat the very least, the other characters in this batch being miles better than violet gives me hope that the next batch of heroes aren't gonna be as bland as her although boho could be the next violet if things go wrong

The real lesson here is release one really shit hero per batch so everyone focuses on them. Get that blue haired bulldyke/asian ex-whore turned easy slut amped up and let her delusions run wild while you're unsure of your hero design and if you miss the mark or your hero is unbalanced then you have time to review your work and reception whilst everyone is dogpiling xir work. But you have to make sure your hero comes first otherwise everyone will be too busy trashing it to care

I haven't read much on the Violet hate, but has anyone commented on how one-sided the hero conversations are? The issue is not exclusive to Violet, I think all of the CNS heroes have this problem but Violet is the worst of the bunch, where the dialogue between the CNS hero and someone else, it's always someone else talking to the CNS hero about what makes them special.It almost makes the CNS heroes sound like Pokemon because all of their conversations feel like them reiterating their character concept. Like most conversations with Danny are "I love Fairfax and selling/testing Fairfax stuff". Violet convos are "gee I'm a nervous young painter". Solomon is "I am kindly chess grandpa".There are a few standout conversations (Baba accusing Kelvin of being something wearing his skin, Danny and Haze talking about North Ixia, Billy and Violet hitting on each other) but most of them are just so fucking lame and it sucks considering conversations were generally getting better before CNS.
