The wishing tree scene really didn't hit. The main problem with the story of this patch was that it was effectively just about Endmin's lack of memories. it really does feel like 1.6 is the end of an era for Endfield.The story is reverting back to Rhodes Island and "where it all began" with Arknights.Year 2.0 is a clear shift in thematic focus away from firing lasers and flying on swords in China, hanging out with animal friends on dates, and going back to the reveal era's focus on sci-fi and exploration and conflict.Instead of being a blank slate that communicates entirely via pointing and yes/ok dialogue options the Endministrator is now almost completely fully voiced and is shown with inner conflict and personality.It's an almost complete cultural victory for week 1 /akg/ review bombers, but at a point where they're no longer getting what they want.
