NE is already nearly perfect and completely killed ARB for me in its current state, it just needs a few changes.First, buff A2A rewards back. They were nerfed to encourage people to attack ground units, but that was before the same-airfield respawn cooldown was added, back when everyone just conga lined towards the enemy center airfield from their center airfield. Although it did nothing to stop that, I could at least see the logic, but now that people are dispersed around the map and A2A kills have become much rarer, it makes no sense to keep it in place.Second, nerf the AA. Not any specific system but all of the point defense and convoy ones. I like that it's a threat you have to consider but it's TOO much of one to the point of being intrusivee for PvP and has next to no counters. Add a guidance delay and a longer firing delay between cannon bursts/ SAM launches so any amount of conscious effort defeats it and so rather than non-stop spam there are windows of opportunity to attack with rockets/bombs that need a few seconds of lining up to land. This would actually allow people to PvP without getting smacked by AA 0.3 s after the merge, and it would also make dumb weapons usable against the AA, contrary to now where you MUST have spammable/stealth F&F munitions or else you just get raped with no ability to fight back whatsoever.As for long-range AA, make it straight up not fire at anyone flying below ~1 km AGL. Right now, you either hug the deck like a maniac or die to S-300s and climbing is a fucking death sentence unless you're flying deep into friendly territory. This would make climbing a tradeoff - you get better positioning but are at risk of being shot down - while letting lower altitude engagements, whether A2A or A2G, actually take place.
