>>585626391Hang around about an airdash length away from the corner and react to their choice, remember airthrow is 0f and the grab box position gives the lower player an advantage, you can wait longer than you think before you have to commit and basically everything that can beat airthrow is risky and punishable if you were patient and didn't chase them too early. HOS has pretty good anti up back options to throw out at the end of a string, FB Fafnir or Rockit or BR or whatever after getting pushed out can catch people trying to jump when they think they're safe. Pay attention to when they're jumping, if it's only after pushing you out too far to continue your blockstring then do shorter blockstrings into an earlier tick throw or pressure reset to force them to take riskier options, if it's always after a certain normal with limited cancel options steal your turn right before you would normally go into it, etc.

I made the example of Battle Fantasia because it's a niche fighting game that is both a new IP but also doesn't really do much to really change the genre or has any ambitious plans. Only time will tell what role this game will fill. I assume it's going to take some while until we see anything about it.
The impression I get is that the reception towards ASW has been a bit more lukewarm since Strive, at least going by places like /fgg/ and r/Kappachino. People seem more wary about the company since that game, but funnily it's also the time this company has never been so popular and near-mainstream.

>>586108376It's a little complicated to describe but pretty simple in practice If you get Blitzed, either a physical attack or on a projectile if you're too close to them, you get put in Reject State, which is basically hitstun except you're allowed to cancel into Blitz yourself, which if you catch their attack flips the situation so now they're the Rejected one.If you charge Blitz it does an attack automatically when you release it, this is easier to use than tap blitz but limits your options against them blitzing back to just trying to vary your timing, and full charge Blitz is un-blitzable but so slow they can recover from the Reject State before it hits, so there's an RPS between short charge that gets blitzed back if they just hit blitz on reaction to getting blitzed, mid charge which will punish an immediate tap blitz but still get caught by charge Blitz and makes it easier to react correctly. Full charge crushes them trying to charge Blitz back, but if they don't bite they can block or throw you out of it, and even if they immediate tap blitzed they might recover in time. Tap blitz is a small window but doesn't do the attack, which lets you threaten a mid or a low so they have to guess high or low blitz back if they want to and if they don't guess right or don't try to RPS you get a normal starter instead. If you anti air blitz they can only tap blitz back, there's no air charge Blitz, so the RPS is purely timing, with the added note that landing cancels Reject so if they land before you hit them they can throw you out of it, but whiffing air blitz is counterhit state on landing so charge Blitz so gets full reward if they bite.tl;dr, tap blitz then hit them low

Castlevania sub-weapons are here and work like in the main games, for example the Holy Water is kind of broken for guard pressure. There are chargeable attacks, so buffering charges is important. No throws, and each character has unblockables instead or goes for guard break pressure. The jump attacks specifically remind me of Naruto: Gekitou Ninja Taisen / Clash of Ninja, also by Eighting.
