If it's up to me the games shouldn't have any western influence whatsoever. I would even be fine with the dialogue being straight translations, I would rather have a stilted translation with errors over an early 2000s esque gag translation that has nothing in common with the Japanese. I'm not a shareholder so I do not care which is more profitable to do. I'm fine with the movies causing Maria to get more appearances and stories though because I'm biased.
