I don't think they'll abandon this game like Project even with the poor reception, that game was dropped for very specific reasons (devs busy on main game, bad code), while this game has a dedicated dev team and a plan.

There's too much lore with the Powers/Fists hierarchy and multiple Voices, CatNap's hostility shows this project is likely NOT condoned by the Prototype, and Oliver would NEVER act like a middle-manager fanatic when he could instead act like a demanding leader/god. He MIGHT be the leader of ABP despite CatNap being hostile, he certainly is in 2005, but we just don't have enough info to say for certain.
