Fortunately they arrived during a solar flare and were able to take out the facility's Gatekeepers with impunity. Her mechs got mangled pretty bad fighting the hostile mech defenders. Happened across a deactivated one during the raid and took control of it. There were more but there's only so much room in the vehicles to come back.

The remaining defenders having to get creative when 20 scythers show up and there's no Mabel or heavy armor to use to overwhelm them.Without Mabel, there's no directly controlling the remaining combat mechs on the base. A plasteel garage door was hastily built by the Engineer to plug the hole in the entryway to buy time. A single prometheum mine was put out to perhaps cause some kind of damage without causing further damage to the entrance, an EMP would have been preferable but we don't have mortar shells laying around for it.It didn't take long for the scythers to breach, where they were met by a firing squad and the entryway turrets. Even with just 5.56 AP ammo and buckshot, the four entryway turrets are ferocious, and more importantly, keep the heat off the fragile humans so they can fire on the scythers without getting their limbs hacked off.They won handily, despite everything. Only a single turret was sacrificed.

The new command center is mostly complete.This building serves as the new main base. 18 villagers (+ Monolyns) versus two ogres seems one-sided, but in exchange they'll get a research-oriented Monolyn, so it's hard to say no.Shepard and her group are pretty much still at Tier 0 when it comes to Monolyn technology and they need to progress through the main research tree to unlock more stuff. I was going to split it into three chambers for each planned specialization, Ordo Fidelium (Clergy, headed by Nun), Ordo Custodum (Defense), and Ordo Artificum (Research/Crafting) with the head of each order getting their own private room connected to the chamber. Plus a smaller one for unspecialized initiates.

When Monolyn are praying, they heal more while their food and sleep needs are slowed down. Nun is literally too injured to walk but it seems like putting hurt Monolyn on meditation duty might be better for some injuries than having them lay in bed all day.

Siege warfare from the Chinese just as the others were recovering from the mechanoid fight. The Monolyns have guns that outrange most of their weapons, but if they charge in all at once they'd get slaughtered. They could also wait it out. Their clothing only has them covered up to -27C, but at night the temps drop close to -40C. Attacking while they're too cold to fight is probably the best move.

The phone booth might actually be beneficial. For now at least. It seems to work like a harbringer tree in that it consumes corpses.
