Yeah.... I was having fun with RE4R and then I got to the castle and almost everything good I had to say about it just dipped. Level design fell off a fucking cliff as soon as I got here and I LOVED the castle back in RE4 OG. Seriously, I'm actually frustrated how bad they fucked this up especially in chapter 10, it doesn't even feel like there was really a "design" for these sections and it was more "hmm clock tower was sorta annoying in original because it's just waves of enemies, what if we just mash the bugs and the waves so make it the player doesn't really need to engage with the waves but make the bugs as annoying as possible and let them deal with it while they hit two levers" wowww genius tanaka san!!!! Then the double garridors just felt like "hmm the original had you fighting two of these, what if we put the two of these and a bunch of waves of enemies and add a singular bell and just have the player just mash their brain through here as they play cat and mouse." SUGOI GENIUS TANAKA SAN!! I miss the smart level design back in the village sections, there was a lot of love put into that section that I don't see in the castle at all. Is Island better? It felt like an afterthought in the original but I hope it's not a bastardization like Castle was. I'm even miffed that Salazar is lamer this time around (I mean he was lame in OG but he was funny lame, now he's just boring lame in remake)

What are you guys playing for this spooky week? I am going through a Resident Evil marathon on my Switch. Already went though RE7, RE8 and RE9. Now in RE3 and with luck I'll finish it before the end of the week so I move on next to RE2. Of course I've already played the saga when it came out but it's nice to replay it especially on handheld

Silly me, no it really is just another rehash of SH2 with the blandest characters and environments possible.I unironically think it goes below Homecoming and Downpour, because those at least had some semblance of gameplay (boss fights in HC, exploration and things to do in DP). I went back and got all endings because I've done that for all SH games but I completely understand why some people wouldn't. It doesn't help that The Weight's AI was terrible on launch (when most fans played it) and patching it later did nothing for people who are SH fans and got it on launch.I guess the good thing about the gameplay is that you can put it on Story and run past everything if you want to replay it again. I did like the plot but mechanically the game is pretty bad.

When I play the games, I think, "Lol, Americans do be like that!" even though it's probably not like that at all. But it's a unique and alien perspective on a foreign culture. Even now, I still think of Barry Burton or Harry Mason when I think of American guys. I have no desire at all to play a bong Silent Hill developed by bongs. I feel like the warped perspective on Americana is integral to the vibes of the games. I give F a pass because they have a right to do a spinoff which examines their own culture, even if the innate understanding of that culture makes the characters all normal people instead of seeming like pod people.

Having finally played RE3 I believe a lot of the complaints about the remake operated from an idea of the original game that was from when the person played it when they were like 9. It's just as dumbed down from RE2 as the remake is down from RE2make. "Dude nemmy was a fuckin beast in the original game!" no he's actually the easiest enemy in the game to learn the dodge mechanic on. i killed him every time i saw him. the game is on rails after you leave on the tram just like the remake and like the remake it's the easiest game in its respective trilogy — i never even used the magnum at all. I didn't mind the clocktower and park being cut because they're 10 minute sprints and I liked the fleshed out hospital with much more Tyrell and Carlos as an alternative.i'm not shitting on either game, actually I enjoy both of them more than their respective version of 2, but the PSX RE3 fags acted so high and mighty about the remake when the original RE3 is already RE1 and 2 for babbies....

>>585983126It attracts enemies to your location very slightly. Only enemies that are in the same room / spawn area. It actually really helps with the helicopter fuckers I forget their name. That way they intercept you and you can shoot them faster. Just don’t use the machine gun on them!!! I can’t remember if it the infinite machine gun or the regular one that has a glitch where the helicopter guys speed up and attack you too rapidly while you are attacking them.

It got lost during an unscheduled move. Ran out of time around floor 40ish on the Chrysler building with my overpowered weapons. :(

>>585985106Yeah save states are my go to for nintendo stuff. But as much as I say otherwise, I'll probably do it legit since it'll feel better. And no save states on pc ports I'll play. I did find out the Jill play through on gog version has infinite saves by default so I'm hoping that'll be a good spring board into those older games. First I gotta do the Revelations though.
