Finished up KH2 on this leg of my series replay. I have a lot of issues with the game but it's still a fun experience full stop. The two BBS secret movies might still be the best CG movies in the franchise. Looking forward to playing Days again. I need to check and see if my Melon Mix version is up to date first.

I don't want a copy of KH2 magic 1:1 for 4, but I sure hope builds can do upgraded magic

No I prefer KH3's combat actually, I just didn't like the magic, it felt "lacking", idk a better word. Aero was good and fun though

KH2 keyblades always had their own abilities but not all of them were the same between Vanilla and Final Mix. You get to see Pete in 358/2 Days doing things in between KH1 and KH2. He and Maleficent took over Disney Castle in DDD and were the villains in Re:Coded. Their problem is that they were essentially relegated to foreshadowing for the Lost Masters arc. I'm sure they'll appear in KH4 but I can't imagine it being anything aside from a DDD tier showing.

The island in Destiny Islands is just wrong, probably because they wanted to sell the feeling of isolation. They're actually pretty close together, which makes sense when you think about it if Sora's father allows them to go on the island when they're really young.
It does make some scenes funnier when you think about how they would actually appear in canon. Like when Xehanort is staring out into the ocean, he's actually just staring at the mainland.

Why does this shit keep happening when I play the PC port of 1 and 2? It got really distracting in Hollow Bastion in 1, and I literally just booted up 2 like 15 minutes ago and this shit popped up. I tried reinstalling, checking the file integrity, switching to windowed borderless and uncapped framerate, switching back to fullscreen and 60 fps, and it still keeps happening. Nothing I do works.

I get the feeling from old concept art that Destiny Islands wasn't going to have a mainland with a town, but everyone was going to be castaways in early versions of the story and it got changed somewhere early along the way.

I think Traverse Town was part of Disney Castle early on too but they changed it to an OG world and got rid if the red roofed village from icons in other games. also there are tons of weird buildings we never see on its concept arts and its actual world icon which always makes me wonder

This is def a GPU issue.
It's either one of these:
1. Your laptop is switched by default to integrated iGPU. Old laptops have very shitty iGPUs and the drivers are probably very old. Check your settings and make sure that discrete GPU is used and update your drivers.
2. Your laptop is overheating. Download HWIFO to check your temps.
3. Your GPU is dying. To check if this true download FurMark and run a test for 15-20 mins. If it shows artifacts or pc shutdowns then you are fucked.

I think enough time has passed to say that people jumped the gun on the "kara" in the text for the icon of The Last Name achievement. I'm more inclined to believe the idea that it's basically a term used with ellipses, rather than an actual name. Something like

How does Roxas dive into his own heart in the intro to KH2 if nobodies apparently don't have hearts? It has Sora's station of awakening obviously so you could argue it had something to do with seeing Sora, but you even fight a Darkside equivalent to a Nobody here so it really feels like Roxas was fighting the Nobody in his own heart. I can't believe nobody ever pointed this our during the endless debates about DDD.

The world order is so important because you don't want a ton of Maleficents running around destabilising the world and potentially causing a world to be lost to darkness. It's mainly about keeping the peace in that world. Think about it through the lens of Star Trek. Star Trek has the Prime Directive that forbids messing with the natural development of planets that haven't developed warp travel. You should keep contamination of worlds not ready to hear about other worlds existing to a minimum.

When has following the world order caused any serious problems? By the time SDG get to worlds, the world order has already been thrown into unbalance, so it's fine for them to try and fix it. KH2's is about ORGXIII explictly exploiting Sora getting involved and helping or else the worlds just fucking end like in KH1, something that wouldn't have needed to happen if they were made aware of the heartless and their threat first, BBS's entire plot was them following the rules to the letter and things getting worse because of it. The whole thing about the book prophecy and MoM is only in motion because of Keyblade wielders refusal to question their master causing the world to literally tear apart.

The heartless existing at all is a means to get involved in the worlds' affairs, because eating worlds is their entire thing.

The only case you can make is Maleficent, who again, who only knows about other worlds and the darkness because she was only one smart enough to look deeper after the BBS trio stepped in.

Sora in KH2 can't be helped. From a canon perspective, you need the keyblade to save worlds. There was no way of preventing the Organisation's plans without forsaking the worlds as seen with how even Hollow Bastion being the most educated they could be on the matter still needed Sora to save them. That was the conclusion made in KH2 itself, that Sora can't just stop using the keyblade.
BBS doesn't even really touch on the world order. Even Aqua was ready to murk Lady Tremaine because she sensed darkness in her which definitely isn't following the world order.
KHUX also doesn't concern the world order.
Another example of not following the world order going terribly wrong is Dark Road where instead of just killing Baldr right away seeking to upset the world order to draw out the seven lights led to Baldr killing many people. And the upperclassmen who originally died only truly did so because they were breaking the world order by confronting Maleficent to lift Aurora's curse. If people followed the world order in Dark Road things would have turned out better.
