And you can have WoL and the Scions that went there get scolded hard because they did exactly the one fucking thing the Scions always tried to avoid for a reason, which was to get mixed in in local politics, and this needless bloodshed is now the result.

I get the obvious dichotomies that they were pitting against Alexandria and Tural, I'm saying that it was executed poorly because you had to change the nature of Alexandria in the first place in order to push those themes to begin with. This could have easily been a clash between cultures and the traps of nostalgia without needing the futuristic elements at all. Even with Alexandria becoming the colonizer rings hollow because it's evoking images of a modern cyberpunk future, an aesthetic that trivializes all aspects of the human person for the sake of the technocratic oligarchy, rather than subjugating particular technologically diminished civilizations. Also electrope as the strong arm of forced colonization can't work when the Wild West aesthetic of Xak'Tural stems from centuries after said colonization had taken into affect in the Americas by that point. It just muddies the waters too much having Alexandria as the antagonistic force since you're changing the nature of what is was to try and fit the theme.

It really wasn't until a couple patches in that they found their footing. Also the whole potential for moral dilemma throughout the story beats was handled in such a superficial and childish way that it almost felt insulting. It's like no one really gave a shit but somehow I was still supposed to care, even my character reactions all felt so off to me like someone hijacked it and I had to sit there and do all these things I fully disagreed with. I agree on the content, pretty much enjoyed most of it. From 7.3 onwards it felt like they at least wanted to prove they can give us fun things to engage with. Cosmic exploration is pretty fun to me and the planets are great locations for gposing, they're so big that I almost wish there were more things to do there even outside of DoH missions but I guess that's what they were designed for.Also obligatory your cat is cute as heck!
