I think that fighting game peripheral makers are struggling really hard to find a selling point for their products nowadays, which is why every maker is coming up with their own dumb gimmick like some weird looking 3000 button layout (thanks SF6), extra up inputs and button with an actuation point so low you can trigger them simply by existing. We are in this weird ass snake oil era as far as peripherals go because modern fighting game developers aren't really considering the consequences of making more than one type of controller the default for their games.
