Even finding fun routing options to do things quickly or get good gear you want early feels hollow because the devs sort of easybake oven'd the ways to do it. There is literally a talisman to make anything work at the drop of a hat. You end up breaking the game over your knee without even trying. The self imposed challenge mindset to make the game a little more structured and challenging doesn't feel meaningful when you can walk 100 ft and get warped to a dragon that gives you 65k runes. Ignoring that option and staying low level doesn't feel interesting when you can bleed or blackflame anything if you need to. Ignoring this and that to make the game challenging ends up having you intentionally not engaging with 80% of the game.
