So yeah, when a rogue deck uses a generic boss monster, it’s not because we want to win. It’s because Konami left us with no other choice. Those generic cards are a life support machine keeping crippled, abandoned mechanics alive. If you unhook the life support without giving the archetype actual, functional legacy support, the deck doesn't get to "play a fair game against another shitdeck." It just dies on turn one to a single hand trap. Nuclear ceiling bans don't save rogue decks; they just ensure that only the newest, most pristine Tier 1 archetypes are allowed to exist.

Time Trial 2006 is kinda ass(everyone playing loaners or ftk shit), and the games sacky, especially with 3 gorz around.
2008 was much better, even the supposed tier 0 teledad was an ok match up depending on non engine.

Even without priority this deck's still strong. He blew his Torrential one moment before this on taking out my two normal summons.
People should probably be more willing to play basic spot removal like Bottomless/Book/Compulse with priority gone.

Is this too autistic, or might it be a good learning exercise?

Icejade, Earthbound Immortal, and Generaider are decent enough to be playable in Genesys format or some Master Duel events with a lower power level, so I guess they're not COMPLETE ass right now. Even at their best, they were just decent rogue options and never meta.

Infernity is the only one of those that was ever an actual meta threat, but that was in like 2010. It can still create endless bodies and pull off goofy-ass Table 500 FTK combos if left unchecked, but it dies to handtraps so easily that it's not worth trying to make it work in 2026.

But does the rating of the Link Monster also affect the subsequent Link Summons, contributing to the increased requirement? Is that what the lower Links are for?
