My counter to Rudy Knight is like he has like one piece of evidence to him being the Knight (him bitching at you bringing Susie in chapter 4 if you haven't introduced him to it)
and while it is VERY strong and such the issue is it is literally the only evidence to him being the Knight.
Given he's like a bedridden guy who literally was exhausted from going to church and is possibly dying from falling off a ladder/really exhausted in Side B/ possibly dying and hiding it from Kris and Susie my major issue is just the logistics of him being half dead and doing all the Knight shit.
There's logistics issues of Carol and Dess too, Chapter 4 fountain being made when Carol heads home or Carol/Rudy heading to the Flower King when Rudy is fucking dying.
Ngl my best guess is that the Knight can basically warp into dark areas like closets without anyone seeing.

Now I'm usually more Dess Knight but I kinda fuck with Asriel Knight a lot.
So first point I'd point to is Kris' connection with Asriel. Asriel and Kris are frequently noted to be closer than close. They share the same fucking room lmao ffs.
Kris is also very protective of Asriel and longing to be with Asirel. We can see this in Kris looking up when Asriel is getting home. We can see this in Kris refusing to let us see Asriel's cyber room. We can see this in how Kris prevents us from reading more than a snippet of the love letter after strongly encouraging us not to.
The only other time Kris refuses to open a door or distracts us from information is always related to the Knight.
See the shelter code in the guitar. See removing the Knight's helmet. See opening the closet in the church. See refusing to attack the Knight in chapter 4 if you climb all the way up.
Circumstantial but nothing definitive.
Kris loving their brother is meant to parallel Dess and Noelle with both of them longing for their siblings and the elder siblings being romantically connected and there being SOME romantic things with Kris and Noelle even if the intended path is Suelle for now.
Now, we know Noelle is looking for her sister. What of Kris Kross Applesauce? We have some very funny implications relating to Asriel with him having a picture of Shawm on his computer and owning what appears to be the Mantle game underneath his bed being Cat Petterz the RPG a bastardized version of Dragon Blazers which is based off Lord of the Hammer and based off the Prophecy.

There's also the Ralsei connection, Susie and Asgore point put the similarities between the two but also the distinct differences as well with Kris and Asgore going out of their way to point ot they're a lot different as well. This has been brought up in their manner of reluctance to violence and prayer with the anecdote he brings up of Asriel confessing over throwing yoshi into a pit (yoshi is his favorite character) despite their religion not having a concept OF sin.
Remember Lightners worship the Prophecy of the Three Heroes and the Angel.
The only characters noted to pray btw are Toriel, Alvin, Kris if we make them to, Asgore, and Asriel. I mean Toriel literally has the fucking symbol of their religion above their house and on their floor mat. She's kinda meant to be a Christian mom so of course the Dreemurrs take their religion a bit more seriously than the rest of hometown.
Ralsei is an avowed pacifist and prays to the Angel for guidance in his scene with Flowery.
There's also the connection of the Ribbicks who speak about Dess and Asriel. Asriel being associated with the Pizza Deodorant (smelly), being a sensitive and caring or less tactfully put crybaby (crying boy) and the dreemurrs are noted for having an excess of fur in their shower drain (untrimmed)
There's also the connection between Asriel and Flowery. Not just in the fact Asriel was forced to become Flowey the Flower but in a few other ways. He's a cool, older brother from college who's obsessed with shows of strength to prove hes tougher/cooler than he really is, associated with golden flowers and loves his family.
Note that the Knight and Kris' wills create similar Dark Worlds with all these connections in mind.

I had to double check to make sure I wasn't talking out my ass, but when Toby initially revealed the Alarm Clock dialogue Rudy was mentioned by Asgore. He says "daughter" here but in the updated 5th anniversary he says "youngest daughter."

Assuming Dess Knight, my belief, that will likely never be proven unless Toby admits to such long after Deltarune is over, is that Asriel was going to be the Knight in Toby's earliest concepts of Deltarune before making Undertale. After Undertale he either decided Asriel Knight was too similar a twist to Flowey being Asriel, or something like that. Zero way to confirm unless its from word-of-mouth Toby, but its what I believe until we get more info.

Something I'd like to note, the Knight specifically has only gone after the Dreemurrs and taken them to the Bunker, a place of refuge where you're meant to wait out something bad. The Knight first targets Toriel with the express purpose of Tenna keeping her asleep. Then kidnapping Undyne instead of swooning her. Next the Knight opens a fountain in the church where Toriel goes to choir practice at being thwarted by sans taking her home, before finally kidnapping Asgore. All of these people are related to the Dreemurrs in some way. Asriel's Mom, a work colleague of Asgore, and Asriel's Dad. The Knight also is working with Kris' Asriel's sibling. When you look for a kidnapper you first look for friends and family.

Am I the only one who sees yellowish skin in the new artwork? If you color-picked Kris's skin, it would be a shade of yellow. It just looks white because of the warm pastel colors in the background. Now Asriel fights the player with a number similar to the Knight in Deltarune.
Specifically, he has swords to swipe at the player with. Though used with far less ability and care. He has star based attacks similar to the star damage the Knight deals with his falling stars as well as an outline that follows him around of little silhouettes of his frame along with a multicolor background both of which the Knight has as well via the desperation attack and the Knight charging up while the fountain changes colors.
Asriel is also associated with stars and swordsmen in Deltarune via super smashing fighters with Sword Magician being his favorite player character though he originally preferred Yoshi
His room is decorated with stars as well with Susie even noting all the decorations and giving one to Kris to reinforce a subconscious allegiance to Asriel

It's still so crazy how much of an outlier King is. Kris actually having been the one to tear him in order to cheat would kinda make everything fall into place, but then his reaction to Kris, or lack thereof, doesn't add up, since he would 100% bring it up.
But then again, it doesn't add up either way, because you'd think Kris having played with him, as confirmed by Ramb, would still trigger anything more personal from him in general, but also no to that. It almost really does feel like Jevil telling him of his supposed rise to power was like a self-fulfilling prophecy, and indeed, nothing about his position in the light world sets him apart as the most important object in the classroom, really just for the card deck. Considering it was the Knight's arrival that changed things, it really seems that King only started taking over the kingdom after the fountain was already opened and he was a darkner, none of the light world circumstances made that be, just the time since the fountain was opened and the heroes fell into the supply closet.
He wasn't the main antagonist because of any special connections to one of our characters or special position, but just spite that his own injury doomed them all. Queen was the most high tech thing in the computer lab that Noelle used to search for answers and so she wanted to help Noelle, Tenna was always the center of attention in the living room of the Dreemurrs and wanted that adoration back, Gerson was a loved figure in the light world who both wanted to repair his relationship with Alvin and steer Susie down a good path, and Flowey was a disposable flower kept alive for a long time who wanted to repay Asgore's kindness by making a new family and world for him. They all have such evident reasons to be the main focus, meanwhile, for King, there was nothing that set him apart until lore drops multiple chapters in.

Every time Kris seems like they're genuinely friends with Susie it's just a trick to make sure (You) don't get in the way of the Knight's epic prank to drench her in pig blood at the Sadie Hawkman dance

I don't really understand how this viewpoint works. Because Deltarune IS gaster. Everything is gaster and I don't really mean that lightly. Everything happened because of him, and the entire story is basically an extension of his character. Whether antagonistic or not he is like....not the most important but definently basically the god of Deltarune. It would be really weird if nobody got to meet and speak with him, at the very least us the player anyway.
