Flaming Cliffs is worth it on sale. You get a lot of mission capability for $35.
Purists bitch and moan about these modules but you'll bind everything to your HOTAS in a full-fidelity module anyway and realism is moot point in a sim with healthbar damage models. You'll have fun. The clickable cockpit mods are great for the keybinds you can't remember.
I wouldn't buy any of the planes from the pack individually.
You might even surprise yourself and enjoy one of them more than the Flanker.
>>
>>586159662
yeah but I already have 3 of them (F-15, Mig-29 and SU-25), they do me just fine, but even if they are on sale I dont know if its better downloading the mods or buying a 4th gen aircraft which has the same capability as my Mig-29 (R-77, dumb bombs and rockets), only the 33 looks a bit different because it has carrier ops

they were fully demilitarised which destroyed their aviation industry. they weren't rich enough for a private aviation market to exist either. Germany didn't have this problem because before the war they had a large market for private/commercial aviation so the manufacturers had something to pivot back to.

reminder not even the British aviation industry really survived into the 21st century. it's just BAE these days, being mostly subsidised by the US MIC.

KA-50 had an update recently (Blackshark 3). So technically it's a younger module than Hind now. It is worthwile to learn it.
>>
>>586270834
>>586272424
Yeah, think of the Hind module like the Apache module, but shitty; you will be relying on the AI copilot to spot targets in either case.
The Ka-50 is designed for a single pilot with a high workload, and you will be relying on the IRL autopilot functionalities to give you some breathing space to find your own targets (you will fail to spot them and die, a lot). The closest bluefor module to the Black Shark is actually the Kiowa, since you have to spot your own targets, and will be relying on the module AI to take over piloting while you have your face in the TV, and dying a lot to targets you failed to spot.

Alrighty, so the shark is more of a scout than an attack copter I'm understanding?
I guess I wasn't expecting flying and shooting in the Hind to be quite so similar to the Hip I guess, though I guess the gunner role is more complex and so far I've only done a bit of a fly around, not done the serious training.

>>586277864
Well, Hind was directly developed from the Mi-8, so there's that. It's more of a run and gun platform (also troop transport). It's really not designed to hover and destroy targets like Apache or KA-50. I fly most of my time in Hind and I like tactics where you just fly low, full speed, then pop up, spray the enemy with rockets and run away. Somebody here said that Hind is more like a fixed wing, and they were right. Gunners role is pretty basic here - to guide the radio guide rockets and visually spot the targets. Still, if yuo already have MI-8 and want something new, I would go for another heli.
>>
>>586278929
Also, KA-50 is a beast. Definietly not a scout, but full blown attack copter. Can run and gun, can hover and destroy enemy (vikhrs) and even can do some A/A combat with Iglas. Absolute beast. Definietly not a scout.

Agreed. Nothing can dispense guided munitions quite as fast as the Ka-50 can, although I think the Apache edges it out with the wider azimuth and elevation ranges of both the targeting cams and the cannon. Plus the thermal sight IHADSS is basically cheating.

Yeah, I think Apache is at the top of the food chain in DCS now. Especially with radar guided missiles when you can just select the targets while hovering, fire the hellfires and then just go home for more. Precision of handling is also great. I often like to just takie the apache and do laps on the taxiways, trying to fly faster while staying within the taxi line boundaries. Absolute joy. I wish helis were this good in MSFS.

You can really feel the flexing, turbulence, and vortexes in DCS helis. FS24 definitely improved over 2020, but they still kinda feel like plastic toys compared to DCS.

first two map mods are out, thanks to AI no doubt.
>The Pacific Northwest at true scale, a 400 km square from Vancouver to Yakima.
runs at 5fps on my machine
>Western Switzerland at true scale, 199,680 m square, from Geneva to Zurich and south to Mont Blanc, with real terrain, roads and six airfields.
hope this one runs better, but it I haven't tried it yet since its on a different game build or whatever.

It could be that as they had the RAF Chief of Staff on a flight on the M-346 before that meeting.
I also have heard that, IF they were to buy the M-346, they don't want to buy the actual numbers they need to replace the T2s but they want to buy a smaller tranche of 12/24 and have Deci increase their load of UK pilot training. This would allow the UK to fully restore their training capabilities while relying on a single euro NATO member instead of their current situation where they also have to lean on the Qatari and the yankees.
This could be a good opportunity for us as we would sell our M-346s and have an excuse to further expand the school at Deci before competition like the school in Greece (run with M-346s as well) starts being operational. And the A400 is under severe scrutiny due to the issues it had as a project so any new buyer is definetly welcomed by Airbus.
I would like to know if they also talked about the future F-35 LTC in Sicily considering we both employ the A/B variants. Personally I think both our countries should focus 100% on the GCAP alone, it needs to succeed but politicians don't seem to realize that.

1 for everyday use, 1 for Sunday church commute, and 1 for spare parts. Jokes aside we need to replace our C-130Js so it could be anything from 10 to 20 but I have no idea. The huehues have also offered their C-390s which are neat and Brazil is also a country that was interested in purchasing M-346s.
>C-390s for M-346s
>A400M for M-346s
>P1 for M-346s
I just don't want the 346 winning the US navy bid. IMHO we should push hard for the UK and Japan, but the execs at Leonardo were beyond pissed at the UK govt due to the recent fuckery at Yeovil and have said some harsh things.
>>
>>586367707
Why do you need C-390s as well as A400Ms?
>>
>>586368375
I worded it poorly, they are just being evaluated as a potential replacement for the C-130Js. it's going to be one of them. the A400 imho makes more sense since the 390 is small and we already have a tactical airlifter with the C-27J

Managed to get the Yak-52 XP11 by RuSky working on Xplane 12. fixing airfoil errors and folowing the xplane 11 values then migrating them to 12 ones. There are some things I cannot fix because some scripts and configs are inside encripted files. So its flyable now, but walk mode is broken, rolls are awkard, it stalls way easier and its not like the xp11 or DCS one. I'm going to try email the devs to see if they can help me with that. That is just the logical conclusion of general warfare. Dogfights and melee/direct conflicts is not what you want as a General. The safer your troops are the better. That's why we have drones/FABs/Ridiculously high range fire and 5get missiles and the rule of whoever shoots first wins. Space warfare will be that x10 btw.

we already have space warfare. there's guys in military bases in the US, Russia and China shooting lasers at each other in space right now. look up satellite warfare. that's basically what the "space force" deals with, satellite warfare. the satellites even have thrusters and they make maneuvers to block lasers and turn away from dazzlers and shit. it's basically just the slowest dogfighting of all time. seriously, look into it, it's interesting as fuck
the future of warfare is all invisible, it's all about controlling the EM spectrum, and that starts with the satellites

Its very plug and play but the fact they charge a suscription for better resolution pisses me off because they are not the map providers. is it worth buying a rudder pedal or making one DIY? I found one on the internet from SilenceDIY (https://silencediy.com/rudder-pedals-guide) but it doesnt look that easy, I also asked Claude to design one for me, its "easier" than the other one but the con side is that there isnt anything to try on before building it

Yes, twist rudders are shit. The issue is rudder pedals are not cheap, and getting damping adds to the cost.

one thing i really like about the t16000 is that the throttle has these pedals on the back that make for good rudders, which is extra useful because the twist axis on the t16000 stick is notorious for breaking because it's poorly manufactured garbage

Hate Python so much I'm vibecoding an AutoOrtho in Golang (I work with it irl and Rust is for faggots),I'll let you guys know if it worked or not. AutoOrtho was already a webService so idk why the frontend was not a website. i guess at the time it was convenient. Last time I tried AutoOrtho it was hugely bad. If you are talking about the X-Plane 11 one.
