Now that I think about it, this is also touching a bit on one of the core issues of why fighting games have always been so niche.For a lot of people games are something to be completed, they crave for the yellow paint and objectives and a 100% completion sign so they can feel that they accomplished something and can move on to the next thing. Fighting games don't have that. The only objective (outside of some 5 minute story modes lmao) is to personally get better at the game.The problem with that objective is that there is no end to it, you can keep playing for thousands of hours and there is still no way to be "done". Worst(?) of all, all the "progress" is inside you. Sure there's some shitty ranked pngs or whatever but those essentially mean nothing. If you delete someone's minecraft save, all those thousands of hours of work are gone for good. But if you delete someone's tekken save? Who cares, the game is just a vehicle for you to pilot. All the "achievements" are inside the player's brain and hands. You don't have to grind items again or whatever. You can hop back in and still beat all the same people again the same way you always did, nothing was lost.Most people can't handle this kind of open ended game that gives you nothing tangible as a reward or a final endgoal to complete. They can't just play the game for what it is and be happy with it. For them a game is not something to be enjoyed in the moment as much as it is a trophy in their steam library to show off to other people.If you can't simply enjoy playing a game with no ranked grind, no cattle passes, no future balance changes to think about, no DLC reveals etc you just might have adhd
