We're reached levels of fork hell previously thought impossible. Is there a single definitive Eden/Eglantine fork or do you just need one for each game, basically?

Nintendo is safe unless we get another Switch 1 situation. Even if we got a kernel exploit that blew the whole console wide open tomorrow, as long as it's a software-based one, Nintendo can always patch it. Unless someone finds an unpatchable hardware exploit in the Switch 2 like in the Switch 1, it's just going to be a cat-and-mouse game.
>>
>>586444570
it would help if the eglantine devs gave a fuck about anything but MKW

I'm waiting until emulators progress a bit more before diving in but I started downloading the games and I stopped at just Bananza, Fire Emblem, and Pokopia.
OoT and Ravenous eventually.
>>
>>586447382
there's a pretty good chance metroid hungry won't be dumpable. just depends on if the gamecard ships with a patched firmware, i guess. the game comes out in 3 months but i think there's some lag time on the firmwares ending up on the gamecards.

Which fork is best for MKW?
>>
>>586449325
Well. Which? How well does it run? Just started playing it in the latest PokeDinner and it kind of runs like shit even in the beginning caves depending on where you're looking.
>>
>>586450276
its the pokedinner fork, there have been a few sub layers ive needed claude to fix missing shaders etc also I think claude was fixing some cpu overheads on terrain rendering which it offloaded all to the GPU which was a big performance boost the really bad areas can still get down to 30fps and I have to just power through it. I have a 9070xt and a 7950x
>>
That Zortos "performance" build is dogshit. People are claiming it runs Bananza at 60fps now and I'm getting fucking 10fps on it compared to the other builds which ran decent enough
Fuck these scammer ass forks bro

>>586449953
For me personally, PokeDinner has run every game somewhat acceptable (20-30fps)
>>
For PokeDinner fork what are some recommended settings? Should I boost or overlock cpu/gpu? Memory layout up to 12gb or stay at 8gb? Unsafe CPU Accuracy or Auto/Accurate?

Just whatever helps with performance without speeding the game up to a ridiculous speed

I think the biggest issue with vibecoding and Claudeslop is that it's REALLY good at getting you 90% of the way there really quickly but then it's incredibly hard to get those last 10% because it's all built on vibes and it struggles a ton in those small minute improvements

anon with pokopia audio issues, i know i was the only one in the whole world having them but i fixed it by making the config files tied to the emulator (as in, making a "user" folder inside the pokedinner folder) instead of it getting the global eden ones, and now the game has audio. Feels like it doesn't run as well though, i was getting perfect 60fps with no audio and now it's around 55ish with stutters
i don't even know why that would happen in any case, but it do
>>
PSA: You can create a folder named "user" in your Eglantine and Eden Emu folder and those Emus will store their data there, instead of AppData/Roaming.

I'm going to spoonfeed you, retard:
Set render resolution too 100%+ and enable DLAA.
Default shadows are not matching the original game's rendering therefore grass shadows are flickering like crazy.
To work around this you need to crank up every single shadow resolution setting and enable 10-20% soft and contact shadows.
It's a promising port it has other issues too, like effects are not rendered with correct blending (should be additive instead of normal alpha blend) etc.
I would keep on using Yuzu or whatever if you still haven't played this game yet.
>>
>>586483925

It's not the best comparison, I think the stairs at the beginning is a better one.
The shadows have at least a distance related bug in this source port. If I move just a little backwards in this image, the tree shadow will change its shape considerably.
I would have posted a comparison from my Yuzu but I don't have a save file in this area anymore and I'm not going to suffer through the intro... Also, my game is 1.1.0. Not sure if that makes any difference or not.
I would wait before using this totk port.

how many levels deep are we? citra > yuzu > eden > eglantine >>>>> game specific eglantine forks
>>
>>586485545
It's not, it has way less input lag than emulator and fps is really smooth. And it's light in terms of cpu and gpu usage (but that might just mean it's under utilizing them).
Other than that there is no other positive aspects yet.

Switch 2 emulation is mad preliminary and more trouble than it's worth at the moment outside of the wow factor of booting games for a new emulated machine for the first time. It's arguable how "Switch 2" the games that work even are, considering people have backported some of them to Switch 1.

is it better to emulate lost odyseey or recomp it? theres no issues with performance for me so i guess im just going to emulate it
>>
>>586486228
Nintendo is using same devkit for Switch 2 games and the architecture is probably identical to Switch 1 but with optional Switch 2 extensions. Switch 2 is typical Nintendo: two Switch 1 units taped together.
>>
So I decided to test MKW on the Fast Fusion build of Eglantine I was going to submit as a PR, and something definitely regressed in performance. In areas where the latest build drops to 20fps, the (currently) private build only drops to around 40fps.

But offline campaign is not possible in GT7 as it's always online GAAS game.
Only individual races can be played offline unless something has changed. It's been few years since I last played GT7 anyway.
Unless some genius creates a server emulator and reverse engineers the packet data there's not going to be a fully playable GT7 port, ever.
>>
The fact that AI will end every single emulation drama forever is kinda sad
>>
>>586489230
changing part of the code that handle this so it doesn't care about the online and just save the progress locally would be trivial, we've seen claude do much more complex stuff.
>>
>>586487420
I could be very wrong but to me emulation seems like it could be more accurate than recomps.

If you look at things like Minecraft Java to Bedrock despite having the code, they fuck it up royally because the change of code changes how it prioritizes behaviors, breaking a lot of how things are suppose to work. Or Mario All Stars vs the originals, the physics are not the same. For people decompiling and sifting through it with AI I can't beating out some of the crazy accuracy we get out of some emulators. Maybe in later gens where the consoles are just PCs like PS4 and PS5 and the hardware really isn't different anymore. Even then though it seems better to me to make a spot on emulator that works with every game than try to rebuild each game one by one. I guess later consoles have a lot less unique on them tho.

tl;dr If the emulation is solid I would do that if not then recomp for more modern stuff but anything through PS3 has worked well for me.

Changing the cpu clock settings changes the in game time of day for some reason. So there's this one fork of Eglantine I found that's been focusing on performance and optimization thank god
https://github.com/sylvieistaken/selevet-eglantine/releases

They have a regular build and a 30fps patch build. I tested MKW and DKB
Oh MKW, regular it runs at 40fps (the other forks could only get me to 20 fps) but on patch build it runs at a perfect 30fps. The only issue is in the latest build it has broken glitches, so you have to use the Performance 4 build (I didn't use it because only 5 supports NUP files which I already converted my dumps into)
On DKB, regular it runs a bit better than the other forks around 20fps, and on the patch build it actually does run 30fps in most areas in the game except the heavy loading ones where it struggles again. Both tested on the Performance 5 build.

Overall if you guys have weaker cpus or have a bunch of performance issues like me I'd recommend it. Just change the resolution to 1x in graphics and put it at 12GB memory instead of 8GB.

Best build/fork for Bananza as is? If anyone has some slopped up improved sekrit one that's beyond what PokeDinner's current public one, that would be nice too. From the looks of things Zortos renders Bananza far more accurately. The grey/solid bits of rock aren't weirdly shiny as they are in PokeDinner and the lighting seems far more coherent overall. I think it also runs a tad worse because of this, but not "10fps", it's more like 30 on my machine when anything's going on. Sadly the framerate's tied to physics/speed. If only someone could make a 30fps hack for it.

If using the nightly, you can actually download only the executable. It's intended for updates, but you can use it for a clean install too; though you'll probably want to install the assets later, through the built-in online updater.

Anyway, that's all moot when you can unpack just the executable from the 7-zip file. It's easy as pie, so I don't know why anyone would complain unless for comedic purposes.

>>586579918
Eglantine seems to be the best bet so far, we had an eden fork made just for FE, but they moved over since Eglantine seems to be more workable. Eden fork was running it fairly well, though with big FPS issues in the city and random graphics errors on occasion. Eglantine is much more steady on the FPS, though I've had more random crashing on it...which is still pretty rare.
Eden was something I would say say to wait until it's good enough. Eglantine is good enough, though it will probably run much better in a week or two.

idk if this is still needed, but make a "user" folder in the emulator folder (so where the eglantine.exe is), that way it'll start you without getting its configs from other places in case you already have eden on your system. It helped with some issues i had before, in case everything works you can then copy the user>nand folder from your previous configs to this new user folder, to transfer saves and shit

So what in the hell are you doing, vibe-kun? I imagine you're the guy doing most of the stuff like this on here, right? Like MM9? You're a complete novice from the sound of it, right? How are you walking LLMs through such fixes? Are you describing what's on screen and giving it logs, or what? Am I already on the money, or do you have some coding experience and doing non-clanker stuff too? Can a retard like me also do this, is my question. With free or paid tokens?

I can't reveal my methods right now, but I promise to make a quick guide as soon as I can to help newcomers. Yes, you can also do what I'm doing.
>>
>>586612712
>So what in the hell are you doing, vibe-kun?
Getting Fast Fusion fully supported.
>I imagine you're the guy doing most of the stuff like this on here, right?
Yes.
>Like MM9?
Also correct.
>You're a complete novice from the sound of it, right?
Absolutely, I have no idea what I'm doing most of the time.
>How are you walking LLMs through such fixes?
I usually send screenshots and sometimes point them towards required folders for extra analysis.
>Are you describing what's on screen and giving it logs, or what?
Precisely. Sometimes Opus 5.5 will discover extra tools that might be helpful, like Renderdoc. (Which was how some of the black textures finally rendered properly.)
>Am I already on the money, or do you have some coding experience and doing non-clanker stuff too?
My non-clanker experience is limited to maybe freezing certain bytes in RAM via an emulator debugger on 3rd/4th gen games, but that's about it.
>Can a retard like me also do this, is my question.
Absolutely, Claude in particular will already get you there for the most part. The rest of your prompts will be fixes you (the user) will have to address.
>With free or paid tokens?
Free Claude is gutter trash and uses tokens much faster. Spending 20 bucks on the Pro plan is well worth it!

Pokedinner has a new 30fps setting for Mario Kart World and it runs damn near perfectly.
https://git.eden-emu.dev/Franseven/PokeDinner-a-Eglantine-Fork/releases
It even asks you if you want to change your emulation config to the best settings for MKW when launching it. I think this is the best fork for the game rn.

It also has a 30fps setting for Bananza, but I found that this
https://github.com/sylvieistaken/selevet-eglantine/releases
performance build still ran better for it.

Either way at least we're finally getting optimizations that are able to get consistent 30ps now. Also I wonder when the first OoT dump will drop. I assume Thursday or Friday, but you can bet all these slop coders are going to move away from focusing on Pokopia and MKW to optimizing that one first.
>>
I still can't wrap my head around how fast the emulation scene has progressed.
Do you know how many years it took Dolphin to finally run games at a decent enough framerate???
And here we are 11 days after an exploit and already running Switch 2 shit on Eden. I know some of it is thanks to AI and the Switch 2 being architecturally similar to the Switch 1, but it's still mind blowing.

Thanks! I'll definitely play this as a reward for beating both MKW and Fast Fusion.

thanks

on the first sw2 dumpster that was this file KirbyAirRiders_GlobalTestRide.zip, is this the same game?
>>
>>586663657
>GlobalTestRide
I'm going to assume not, that it's the online demo similar to the ones they used to make before releasing Splatoon games, meaning a demo
just like the Yoshi one in the archive dump
>>
>>586664187
its a 18gb zip file
>>
keeping both anyway

it's not hard to download them from the nintendo website in high quality

Wake me up when we get OoT nup

That game is on PC, with zero DRM.

Ok

Handheld mode is usually 1080p. Docked is 1440p~4K

>>586667382
have a good sleep anon-chan
>>
>>586659814
Orbitals launches, immediate black screen
Yoshi launches to a grey screen and plays sound after like a minute
>>586662592
Kirby boots but hangs at the load screen before the title.
Better than Star Fox, that one doesn't even launch
Vibebros, step your game up.
>>
anyone seen the duskbloods network test anywhere? I know some people dumped cause I saw some discussion on it but idk if it's been publicly shared anywhere.
>>
>Already two pokopia ports
It's gonna get bloody

>Search for game
>40 gigs

No thanks, bro.
>>
Zelda is out on the wild now. Dump imminent.
>>
>>586676310
oot? or the remasters?
>>
>>586676310
Don't get your hopes up, doubt any of the guys that got it early have the exploit or means to dump the game. Still waiting until release day.
>>
I might be the only person that actually cares about the switch 1 remastered games, I guess people really don't care about higher resolutions or textures
>>
>>586679493
I just want to know if there is a way to backport the new content to the switch 1 versions
>>
>>586679639
why? do you have a switch 1? the hard limit on the switch 1 is only have 4GB ram iirc, you can't have large textures with that
>>
>>586664361
>>586664723
I was just thinking about keeping it, but still, if it's the same game, I don't think it's really worth having, plus, the .nup is faster
But if you have extra space, then go ahead and keep it
>>
>>586680712
>if it's the same game
They aren't, this is the full game plus latest update, the archive file was indeed a demo.
>>
>>586679493
The only ones publicly available are Mario Wonder and Pokemon ZA.
If no one dumps the Zeldas, Xenoblade, Metroid, Animal Crossing and Kirby then there's not much the rest of us can do.
>>
I've tested the Selevet Eglantine Performance fork on Pokopia and it's indeed faster than PokeDinner. I'm getting around 55-60 fps vs PokeDinner's 20-30 fps on heavy renders with lots of pokemon on screen. It eats a lot less RAM as well.
>>
>>586679493
yeah because if you cared enough, chances are you already played them and is not in a hurry
>>
>>586682135
Performance build 6? It claims to run Kirby I'll try it out tomorrow.
>>
>>586597979
>New save file exploits keep getting discovered all the time, so I know it's possible.
Why are there suddenly a bunch of new exploits now when there was nothing before?
>>
every good fork will simply be merged into eglantine the next day
>>
>>586679493
Wonder is available and looks worse than the Switch 1 version emulated as of right now.
>>
>>586683460
Then why can't bananza run on it when the other forks can?

Doesn't work for me. Fixes the title screen but hangs after selecting any mode.
Yoshi also hangs after the starting cutscene.
>>
>selevet runs Bananza the best by far
>softlocks a minute into gameplay regardless of RAM settings or any other settings for that matter
Anyone else dealing with this? Usually upping the RAM helps but not here.

Nice NUP metadata update, now I'll add the missing things, like the version number and a better icon
If anyone's interested, here are the ones I saved https://anonfilesnew.com/s/8olOhssXmny they're 1024x1024 .png files taken directly from Nintendo website
If you want more icons, or ones for games that are announced in the future, you can use this >>586666857 but I’ve included everything relevant for me, including Metroid Revenous, OOT, Xenoblade Genesis, Kirby and the World Beyond, and Pokémon Winds and Waves

Nintendo rumoured to be dropped by the ROM manufacturers meaning no new physical games potentially.

Shit like this is the reason why I believe that piracy will go extinct in a few generations. No more prerelease leaks because it's only coming from the carts. Game dumps rely on people having an exploit and also being able to go online. A new exploit required every single time you want a new game unless you crack the bootrom with no chance of any overlap after the exploit is found to get carts.
>>
>>586692310
Who cares at that point? If I can't pirate it I don't care to play it.
