Realistically, those games are all called separately from the main game, and there's always a really obvious black screen flash as it jumps between whatever you're playing and the main game. So the game files exist in there somewhere. But while it's definitely the HD version with Honey, I don't know if they gutted the multiplayer lobbies and matchmaking or if they're just obscured in the code. But you can play the games from a separate menu at the title screen, so realistically if it's possible to mod them as they are then you could just play everything from that menu. That's what they do at tournaments anyway. They're literally playing these games from the Yakuza ports at EVO.

You can admire all the cool features inside, but if you remove the skeleton the whole house collapses and it crushes everything you claimed to like along with it.

I'm okay with SA2. The game had a good narrative. It had some of the best tracks you can think of. It's super repayable and fun and introduced the ranking system. It does have sloppy controls though, with the B button being in charge of too many context sensitive actions. The stages are also rather linear for Sonic and Shadow, and the environments feel too video-gamey instead of being complete worlds. All in all, it's a decent game with some flaws.
