Probably just a coincidence. There isn't really anything to show at a Dragon Ball panel. Beerus airing and already half way over. XV3 is delayed. They probably haven't even finished story boarding Galactic Patrol yet.

There's really no need for it to have so much time dedicated to it. Getting replaced with a Metaphor/Atlus thing makes a ton more sense. They've got multiple remakes coming soon and maybe even some Persona 6 stuff to reveal.

As for Bird Studio, this is going to sound morbid but it's true, nobody was using it. The family doesn't live there anymore and they don't want too much attention. That's why it wasn't officially turned into a museum or a shrine. They didn't like tourists showing up and acting like they knew the man personally. There's no way to really stop people from doing that other than tearing it down and putting something else over it so people move on.

They'll try to figure something out, but I imagine Iyoku might push for a centralized DB app of sorts, where all the news, updates, and new manga are hosted, rather than a physical magazine.
Iyoku is pretty forward thinking in some ways depending on how involved he is in production (like how Daima was initially meant to be a web anime before Toriyama died), and they already pushed for a main DB app and renewed web presence when hosting the big character poll.

A full magazine is probably not happening though. Currently there's three ongoing DB manga and no sign of another one incoming. They are DBS, DBSD, and Super Divers. All three of those combined, for their page counts, comes out to

I imagine Iyoku would be wanting more mangaka working on DB manga to boost that page count to 250 (for comparison, V-Jump has over 300 pages of materials and tons of promo stuff).

We'll see what happens, but again, I think if anything it will all be directed towards a central DB App if he does have control over manga publication.

If you were given absolute creative control, who gets on the next DB fighting game roster, what characters/forms makes the roster before either Broly?
Z Broly would be one of my top priorities, outside of characters in the Original Manga, only SSJG Goku and Beeerus, possibly getting priority from the expanded world.
But in terms of characters from the Manga, you would get basically everyone who gets any serious fight on Panel get priority. So Dabra, Spopovich, Saibamen, Tambourine and Blue get put above any Broly. And I think I would seriously consider putting characters like Pui Pui and Appule in with the same ferver as any sequel character.
