Why is everyone so obsessed with "le journey" when Forever makes that less relevant than every other version of wow before it? Seems to me like a glaring flaw in the design of the game that people are going to realize once they hit 60 and end up sitting in cities after doing their weekly raid / dungeons with no mechanics.
What exactly is the appeal? Almost exactly the same rotations as Vanilla....almost exactly the same dungeons and zones...I just don't think I can do it anymore. I don't want to play through Vanilla for the 20th time.

Friendly reminder devs considerably upped damage output of all classes but didnt adjust hp at all so if you are playing a class such as a mage solo you are gonna be in a world of hurt.Arcane and Fire mages can be alphaed in about 3 globals from a rogue or hunter or feral druid and there's no end game gear which gives you enough stamina without massively sacrificing your offensive power.

If we're getting Night Elf Shaman (Which we are... there is literally no ambiguity after seeing them in that video) then that to me tells me that sadly we aren't getting Draenei. I had thought that the backlash from people not wanting to play a Dwarf Shaman would actually raise the chance of Draenei being released because they have good looking females and they can be Shamans.But Blizzard gave Nelfs, another good looking Alliance race the Shaman class. I haven't been in these threads because I wanted to go into Forever without preconceived perceptions. I had the Beta but only played a few minutes. I was planning on playing a Dwarf Shaman because I played vanilla WoW in 2004 and Classic in 2019 and the prospect of doing it all over again doesn't really thrill me. I'm here for the changes. I wanted Skyborne Shaman but for literally no reason I can determine they made this Horde only so I resolved to play Dwarf Shaman since that's new. I have played Shaman since Wrath launch (before that I mained a Rogue and a Hunter) and still main one in Midnight. The changes yesterday have killed all my desire to play Forever. >Elemental Mastery renamed Lightning Mastery>Lava Burst removedI guess I am playing an Electrician, not a Shaman. The rotation is just DoT maintenance and Lightning Bolt spam now. Also this is another trick from the Midnight playbook - instead of meaningful talents that change the way your class plays or feels, you just get passive effects (in this case, 5% crit).>Lightning Bolt does 78% of the damage it did in ClassicThis is just like in Midnight, where my Lightning Bolt does 20k damage while Lava Burst and Elemental Shock do 250k. Pure filler - except that there is no alternative spell. Random procs (Lightning Overload) are required to do any damage at all, just like Midnight. >Improved Ghost Wolf moved from 2nd row to 4th row.This is now an Enhancement only spell. Since I play Elemental and Resto, this means that even at max level, I will have to perform a 3 second cast to use Ghost Wolf, and since it's usable outdoors only it basically has no purpose since you can just mount up. The only use case is if you are stuck in combat which you want to get away from, but isn't sufficiently dangerous that a 3 second do-nothing spell will be a problem. It's not just dot management and LB spam, it's similar to an arcane mage where mana management and synergistic procs play a big part in the rotation. You can spam chain lightning to top the charts but you will be OOM fast, it's about tactical use of CL on clearcasting. You still keep flame shock on the target, and earth shock for interupts.LB doesn't do less damage, read the patch notes, it does classic damage now with CL hitting as a single target nuke/cleave. I don't know what you thought lava burst brought to the party that is ruined now. It wasn't like previous versions, it didn't crit and it didn't proc. It did marginally more damage than LB and it caused a nerf in CL. The rotation is still functionally the same amount of buttons, you just use CL instead except there is more synergy between LB, clearcasting, EM and CL. Not to mention the fact lava burst was clunky as hell, you had to drop what you were casting to do it on CD, it was awkward as fuck with flame shock timing because of its 10sec cd, and it was fucking ugly aesthetically. It made clearcasting worthless. Also the pvp arguement i see other people making is retarded, a 10 second cooldown wasn't going to save you if you got nature locked in pvp. With the Draenei, they can become shamans because their prophet suddenly said that since shamanism is good that means its the Holy Light too lmao, and Draenei shamans are basically rebellious teenagers pissing off their conservative parents.

Don't go without a crafting profession, though, like Herb/Skin or Mining/Skinning, because the new crafting professions give you free BiS gear throughout the leveling process. I obviously don't know how the leather prices are going to shake out with the new LWing, but on every fresh release I've been on, leather sells for vendor price because so many people pick it up while leveling.
