You can also use catalyzing shields, but if you're not constantly having your shields popped it's not really worth the slot as it means you're constantly going to have to deal with sheildgating. Catalyzing shields is great on some frames, but I personally find it's a lot better to instead have big shields that you can recover quickly. Anyway with your 3 on and archon stretch you shouldn't ever really run out of energy for brief respite. but in general gyre will always be squishy and the best solution is to kill enemies faster and keep them stunned with electric status. If a group of enemies is shooting you it's just as effective as a defense to throw an orb at them and stun them, as it is to shieldgate their damage.

However, because the ability had no LoS, it was really good at killing really low level enemies. scott hated this and made sure all of her abilities had both LoS and FOV checks. btw, immolation is a worse version of an ability she use to have. It was called overheat, you press the ability button, it was a duration buff with no energy drain after the initial cast (like every other 90% dr ability in the game), and you gain a 90% damage reduction. She also had an ability called accelerant that increased her casting speed and heat dot's on enemies (nothing in her kit does that anymore, she just lost that). Her rework was really bad and made a bad frame worse. The damage on her new ult was bad even by 2019 standards.
