Reading through the character designs. It's really funny to me that Araki kept on kicking back Pantera final boss designs because it wasn't intimidating or powerful looking enough. At the same time, he wanted it to still look like Alice.The long leg pieces and hair was added because Araki wanted her to appear to be bigger than GV so people would take her seriously and be more okay with GV killing her, although you can only do so much with a base design like Pantera. They also gave her big hips to go with the heart motif she has.>Her body is small, but if we make it upright and add shaking things then maybe we can make it bigger than the player character? Their personalities are less eccentric and childish, which might be one of the reasons people find them less memorable and sympathetic, despite most of them being forced against their will into fighting Copen.Sumeragi Seven still take the number one spot. They're classic and have a good spread of personalities and archetypes. Some are monsters while others are meant to be pitiable. Their uniforms give them mad villain rizz. The only issue is that I wish they had another a hot chick (don't double/triple count Elise). Every other villain group has at least two girls on it.I know a lot of people love the G7, but they aren't very effective villains. They lack the intimidation factor and look/act too "friendly." Even Inti struggled with this when designing Zonda's final boss design. Even with their crimes and end goals, it's hard to hate them and take them as seriously as Gunvolt does. ATEMS are barely even villains, so they go last.

Many players hate modern cinematic slop like The Last of Us with passion for good reasons, while the majority loves it. Some players swear by JRPGs as the greatest thing ever, others (myself included) consider them unplayable and fail to even understand their phenomenon. The list goes on.You're just not cut out for Copen's gameplay and that's fine. It doesn't mean that it's worse. Personally, I find it immensely fun and appreciate the emphasis on perfect playthroughs and keeping the Aerial chain intact. In many games learning how to route the stages optimally is a chore, but iX games (both of them) are outliers and welcome exceptions, along with the likes of Radiant Silvergun. But well, this is just an opinion of one guy who happens to like iX.

Maybe it would have been best if the Azure Striker Gunvolt IP never even came to be… Gunvolt should have never been born, Copen should have just euthanized Mytyl and committed suicide, and Sumeragi should have found a way to implant the muse septima into a supercomputer or a specially designed android or something so Joule wouldn’t need to live anymore.
