It's nice that they featured kotor1 and swtor characters, but that makes the lack of kotor2 characters stand out more.

From a business perspective, it's because swtor makes good money so they like it, and kotor1 has a remake coming up that they want to start advertising for. Kotor2 has neither of these things.

But I think it's more than that. I think disney fundamentally dislikes the darker tone of kotor2. It was a game about using nukes in warfare, then about the constant suffering of everyone involved, and it even went as far as to question whether The Force is a good thing.

I think it's fair to say that disney isn't totally opposed to mature themes, since Andor is one long suffering story of both Cassian and Mothma, but these are personal stories of suffering. The characters experience it and overcome. I think the more abstract negative themes of discussing whether the force is even a good thing is just opposed to what disney has in mind. They would rather say the force is female and that Sabine learns to wield it through the power of friendship even though she's not force sensitive. They want to change the setting to be more inclusive and "feelsgood" and break rules, rather than having characters actually question the larger setting and even imply the force might be a bad thing.

Anyway, the swtor developers just announced a ton of new stuff including a new raid and level cap increase and gear, so I'm pretty excited. With a release date for Racer Remade and more info on Zero Company companions and gameplay, this has been a good week for star wars games. swtor remains one of the best crpg on the market and there's more coming. Feels good.

I have forgotten most them, and I am replaying the game again. So far I have done Kaas one and Balmorra one.
Kaas one is for Revan fags, and I don't care for him, and imo it's a bit silly at times. But it's ok and fairly short.
Balmorra is nothing special, but it makes sense, they want you to help Imp army to deal with the rebellion, makes sense. And you get to romance Darth Lachris, which is nice.

Actually took Jedi Knight all the way to Echoes of Oblivion for once after only going that far with tech classes and good god, it's not even funny how the entire game since KOTET/FE until the (now entrenched) Mando arc was fellating force classes w/the exception of Bounty Hunter which got a rather large slice of the narrative pie from Gault and Torian being so prominent in the post-class omnistories.

combat is pretty fun for its speed buff and stealth
you have focus builder and spender abilities just like operative but i think operative is even worse in that regard, because with sentinel you don't have to keep track of your focus that much.

i have all the bursts and offensive buffs on my multi button mouse. there really is no 19 ability rotation, just hit your bursts whenever off cooldown or else use your focus spender.

Crit is good until you hit about 5k-5.5k, at which point mastery overtakes it as slightly more beneficial because this game has a diminishing returns system. shield, absorb, defense, and crit all have diminishing returns. mastery, power, and endurance it doesn't matter because those are your primary/secondary stats that you're going to have a lot of, and you don't select gear that has more of those until you have all your tertiary stats anyway. and of course you naturally want to stop at 110% accuracy so diminishing returns over that doesn't matter there. This applies to gear, augments, etc as well for the future.

It's one of my favorite games of all time and I replay it every few years. For your first time, just beeee yourself. The first playthrough of a crpg is for immersing yourself and the new experience.

As for builds, the main ones are space wizard with the aoe and controlling force abilities, or unga bunga with multi attack and stacking force speed and other extra attack effects. Both are fun.

Aftermath is one of the single worst star wars media lol. It's actually amazing how poorly they handled it. I don't understand why there wasn't at least one person in the room saying "that's a bad idea". The entire early line up of disney media clearly suffers from there being no actual real star wars fan in the room saying "that's a bad idea".

I think they eventually got the hang of it though. I know it's not en vogue to compliment disney, but I actually think Andor is pretty good, and the Maul tv show is middling but not bad, and even the terribly written Acolyte at least has a few good actors and good fight scenes at least.

It's like there was backlash against the absolute shite sequel trilogy, Ahsoka, Kenobi, so somebody said "ok, let's actually stop and think".
