Fucking around with Mapper on a local world. It seems relatively balanced. You definitely need good world generation so that there's always a distinctive landmark in sight for the earlygame. It definitely forces you to not niggerrush tech by sprinting around like a spastic gathering shit before you even have a dirt hut. Multiplayer compatible too. Could be neat for a world where you want to force people to take it easy early on.

Idk why I was so hesitant to make my own fireclayOne stack of flint is enough to make like 8 stacks of fireclay. It was alot less daunting than I realized. It should be among the first things you do when you start to get situated. Only real uses for it early on are bloomeries for glass and the oven, but having an actual stable source of grain sat helps your HP quite a lot. Porridge is fucking useless. To be clear, the game takes no issue with diagonal placement of walls and windows, if there are no blocks that "connect" them. Meaning a "thin" diagonal wall will supposedly insulate just as well as a flat wall or a "thick". I had a thick diagonal window, but the blocks that were exposed to the outside were chiseled (all the blocks we chiseled)Those blocks were at 3/4ths full of voxels. In total I only removed a fourth out of the full block. Yet, the game thought, for some reason, that this block was LESS size than a halfslab. ???. I had initially thought it would be the internal halfslabs (which were basically quarterslabs) were the issue because it wouldn't be "enough" to block out the wind. A forum answer said that window blocks chiseled "in" count as less than half a slab so they don't insulate. Thus, logically, it would stand to reason that my "quarterslabs" were the problem. No!I noticed the wind stopped when I added to the external 3/4th blocks. When I returned it back to almost full, with it only missing on 2x2 column, the wind stopped completely and my temp rose to normal. I was dumbfounded. I even removed the quarterslabs entirely to confirm my suspicion. Yup. The game doesn't care that there is LITERALLY one pixel of space between my room and the outside. creative builds are inherently ugly and sterile, if you ever try to use them for legit purposes you notice things like the helv is geared down or the walkways are unwalkable or there's no storage where there should be storage.But whatever there can be janny builds over there and we can ignore them, just don't lie and say they're legit when we know they're not

So, when I killed him, I took his guns. Then, he landclaimed my house and broke my personal chest. So, I landclaimed the southern TLs, both of which I personally found, fixed, and built the infrastructure between. Barm killed my elk, I killed his elk. Now, Barm is going to 'erase dracula mountain' tonight. I'd prefer we not go that route, as brownie behavior can get really out of hand and then I have an obligation to grief the south and back and forth and yadda yadda. I merely wanted peace. I have given Barm the option for peace. If he chooses not to take it, that is entirely up to him. But we CAN go back to the part where we ignore one another in different hemispheres. That said, past this point, I am done being diplomatic/reasonable if he refuses to let it go.p.s., I will unlock both TLs as soon as Barm unlocks my house. I don't much care about the house, but it's the principle of the matter.

Outside of things that require balance like healing items, weapons, tools, etc, what benefit does limited inventory actually give you? And no, deciding between driftwood and a seashell is not a meaningful decision.I'm considering trying to make a mod that splits your inventory in two where non-tactical items have their own inventory where they be carried without any limit. I still haven't come up with a reason why things like decorative blocks should have any effect on what you're able to carry.

what gets my craw about vintage story is what's the point of rifts, their spawning system, and their lore, if those same mobs can spawn anywhere on the surface in shade like the open forest flooror, at least, why do these same mobs barely recoil at the fact that they're out in the day under the sunminecraft mobs have better sun aversion, manthis feels like such an easy change, surface drifters/bowtorns/shivers should only spawn via rifts that can be dispelled with light
