>most sold videogame in the entire world>almost everyone has played>built in multiplayer>everyone just plays shitty gamemodes instead of making a big survival server with a normal world where gameplay isn't about downloading the best clientis the game just not popular enough
>>2477409Vanilla survival sucks dick, and if you have a big server all you can do after a while is build shit in random places because the endgame in Minecraft lasts as long as a wet fart and is just as exciting as one.

>>2477409IT was like this Anon... until the game was sold to Microsoft and it all went to shit in 5 years.Since 2014 there were no good updates. It was even worse - they ruined the game. They ruined the simplest game ever.>YOU and I know... that any game depends on steady normie-source of playerbase. Sure you can download a texture-pack or a mod - but that's too much for a normie. The playerbase dies. That's why 2b2t died. That and the fact that is was exposed as a Freemason run server, the players were homos and the rudeness of the community was astroturfed by bots.2b2t represents the entirety of minecraft survival community in this case.
>>2477409>a big survival server with a normal world where gameplay isn't about downloading the best clientthis exists as both 2b2t and donutsmp. on one hand 2b2t is completely vanilla but you have to wait 99999 for the queue. donutsmp is split into sections and has an economy
I played Minecraft in 2011 alone knowing nothing about it and it was a lot of fun. Never cared for its multiplayer for some reason, playing Ace of spades with /v/ was way more gratifying
>>25037822b2t is just about downloading the best client and is also pay to play nowadaysi used to play a bit when the queue was not really a thing and it was fun, but im not paying like a $20 subscription for an attempt to play with le mr beast or somethingid play donutsmp if the server wasnt like 250kx250k
Survival servers always end up overmoderated or anarchy bullshit where 10 year olds spam chat with nigger and grief everything they see, there's no inbetweenand even if you could strike a perfect balance, what do you achieve? All of minecraft's gameplay can be experienced in less than a day so all that's left is building, which requires mass sources of materials. Farms as a whole do not function on large servers since mob farms are dependent on being able to control spawns which is impossible if you aren't the only guy in a dimension, and other more advanced farms will get laggy quick when everyone wants their own concrete machine, infinite fuel super smelter, etcThe correct minecraft multiplayer experience is with a close group of friends, which surprise, people have been doing and will continue to do for years. Big public multiplayer servers have way too many problems to make a standard experience fun
>>2514682>farms as a whole do not functionNor should they really. This minmaxxing of all gameplay kind of defeats the purpose of gameplay. It's fine to do it if it's not the ONLY way you play, but you and I both know that anyone who is doing this these days isn't branching out and trying to play in different ways.
>>2514739all limiting these sorts of farms do is push towards a different sort of minmaxxing gameplay that's in my opinion worse. How do you get full enchantments without XP because you can't reliably spawn mobs? Just spam villagers. What about gunpowder for rockets or tnt? Mob drop only item, so effectively inaccessible at scale. What if you want to build a giant structure that uses a load of smooth stone? Smelting the stone would be too expensive, use a different block. What about concrete? Manually place every fucking concrete powder and destroy it by handMinmaxxing doesn't defeat the purpose of the gameplay because minecraft's gameplay is extremely shallow. You can and likely will experience just about everything the game has to offer before caring to build any of the things I mentioned, but without any of those things playing past that point becomes pure tedium
>>2477409Just play a private survival server with trusted friendsLike any multiplayer sandbox, large multiplayer anarchy/sandbox servers cannot work, too aimless and griefing is too powerful to allow for anything in depth.
