>>2544469it's a harsh game that punishes being unprepared and it's impossible to be prepared against threats you haven't seen before, so there's a lot of runs that are going to end when you first encounter fireball mages, a couple boss mobs, some trap rooms if you have no way out, the final bosses, but especially the crystal golems and cockatrices... you want to know how/who to kite, who to straight up avoid, and if you should be using magic or bonks against some enemies. ideally you wanna play it in multiplayer so the run doesn't just end when you make a silly mistake or savescum by going to the save folder and copying the file somewhere else as backup and you can keep going and see how other people deal with the threats. As for what to play, I'd recommend magical classes because the last patch gave them magical resistance and that makes it easier to clear the gnome mines, which puts you way way way ahead of the curve, or some physical class using spears because the legendary spear pierces armor and you stop caring what you're hitting and just mash on everyone's face, also turn off traps and minotaur and don't bother with followers, they'll just suck up your exp and die to golems when you're not looking
