First, when orgs in op?
lets start arguing again
Drakecon is already gone, op.
>>2534979T-thanks I guess anon. But since 3.22 I've only been fucked rough twice, other times me and my crew either wipe the floor or escape. My favorite is when we got fucked by 7 fighters + Perseus, but managed to boost nav max speed, turn around 180 decoupled and shoot a single torpedo to the mantis trying to keep up - and it ate the torp, we escaped with last engine left.So I guess I fancy my odds.
>>2534964historically it's led to nothing but drama. there's really only one big active umbrella org around these parts anyway
>>2535020k.I just want to lure yurop anons to join my org.
>>2534917>at least 6 new ships have dropped since LAMP got an initial rollout>maybe 2 of them have LAMPanother cool feature given the tier0 treatment and fucking dropped forever. they have serious management issues, this isn't a dev problem, it's a 'we don't know how to set or maintain priorities' problem. these are guy tinkering in his garage issues, always starting things and never getting them done before moving on to the next one, it shouldn't happen to BILLION DOLLAR global companies
>>2535025no one is going to stop you from posting it here. btw currently most of the merchant gang is australian so those are the hours we generally play. I doubt that lines up with EU hours any better than NA but just FYI
>>2535025I'm EU and looking to join an org. what does it offer? I recently bought a flight stick and want to practice getting good at combat.
>>25349173.18 and 4.0 were probably better in the sense that when the game full hard crashed every 15 minutes or at start you couldn't waste an hour on contracts that didnt work
>>2535044>>2535254I've posted it before but I run https://robertsspaceindustries.com/en/orgs/FMLAbout 3-4 guys play more actively and the rest on/off.As for what we mainly do, we tend to test the newest content and then fuck off to do whatever is the most profitable but open to everything. Like I said to the pirateanon we're not pirates but mostly because its not profitable - nothing against any playstyle and since I have been quite active I have friends in all the lowest places.>>2535283I've only played since 3.22 which was arguably the best and most stable sandbox time of the game. Overall there's been some ok patches after 4.0 but if we consider how unreliable it is for any single mission or even content like CZ to work each patch - its insane.CZ as a rule works after server restart for a single time, my favorite one was the part where it spawned unlootable armor loot boxes instead of the cz loot.
>>2535044>>2535408Also, I'll gladly play with you guys and everyone of worth in my org too. But the time difference is pretty rough - AU servers are some of the escape servers for EU when servers are working too slow.
>>2535408>https://robertsspaceindustries.com/en/orgs/FMLlogo patch is high effort and tasteful. Video had some good clips. If you guys are EU I might consider it a bit later once I have more time.
>>2535428Take your time - and thanks. The vid has horrible framerate but I don't blame the guy who took it, not the top of the line pc - none of the video options we have now and Hathor first week.Notably on that video you can see me take out a polaris with single torpedo (before engineering), missiles are/were a thing of magic and dissapointment.
I am tempted to make Black and White color image for the trannyweek. Surely CIS is allowed too, surely the tolerant left will allow that...
>>25354083.2x came about because 3.18 was such a disaster that they had to focus on stability for several months after, same with 4.0 to 4.4The issue probably stems from metrics they use to address stabilityStats for things like crash frequency, mission completion rate, abandonment rate, etc.If something is missing from those stats then it doesnt get acknowledged until they track it, or disregarded if the stats show that its not common despite updoots on reddit
>>2535614Makes sense but I don't know if I agree to what is posted as the reason for this type of patches which is: "Before the patches took too long since we wanted to polish them"If that'd be the case, then at least you could play a working game for long periods of time.
>>2535623"polish" means "it doesn't immediately crash at launch" because when it hits evo there will still be things straight-up broken like QT not working 100% of the timeactual stability pushes take at least 3-5 months to see results3.18 to 3.23 was from 2023/03 to 2024/064.0 to 4.6 was from 2024/12 to 2026/01Minus the broken versions we got several months of playable SCThese aren't "long" periods but they did exist, and only lasted until people complained about the lack of new features and slow developmentWhat CIG should do is make everyone happy by letting LIVE version stick to 3.23 and let PTU get 4.9, 4.10, etc.It would prove they can make something stable and that they are making tangible progress
>>2535732"It's and alpha"But yeah maybe, I find it interesting how CIG has to operate so differently to any other company - its not a great sign.
>>2534964Instead of the OP as >>2535020 pointed out, I started putting orgs founded by anons here in the new/returning player rentry at the beginning of 4.8: https://rentry.org/guier/#scg-orgsSpeaking mainly on behalf of merch, engagement in playing right now, especially in a project which is very hostile to anything multiplayer/multicrew, is entirely dependent on how well the current live patch is doing. Since 4.8 is a disaster on almost every front, you can imagine the real lack of enthusiasm to play and put up with Chris's bullshit, but always down to shitpost.>>2535408I threw FML in there just now with a quick description based off of what you posted, but happy to change it to whatever you want.
>>2536561Its really hard to justify spending time on Star Citizen on many patches. I don't blame the smart ones who avoid it.
>>2536561The description is nice, thanks.
>>2536561Also, reading through it..A very good guide - best I've seen. Pinned it on our discord and gonna refer to it in the future.
>>2536681Appreciate it. I have alot more I need to update on, but I have to find the time/the game has to be playable enough for me to actually engage with the content to make a proper writeup.
Incoming maintenance on Tuesday at 8AM UTC4.8.1 release, roadmap update, and May monthly report on Wednesday
This fucking guy.
>>2538032Seems to be talking alot in pvp related threads but never really seems to have anything to say, no insight.
so does squad 42 mean direct stuff to sc??? like will it improve movement and shooting mechanics on sc or is this one those SC held back s42 so movement is shit.
>a certain staff member will be pushing for the 600i in 2027>Paul Jones officially left Ubisoft in late March>He's been hanging around Manchesterhabbedig
>>2535038Anon JC literally laid out what the problem is, it was meant to be automated, but it can only be automated if the cockpit glass moves, it was done by hand in the like one other case for the cutty.
>>2538127It does but also don't expect improvements moving over to the PU branch anytime soon. There was a QnA recently this year that went over the improvements to FPS SQ42 has, that has yet to make its way over to the PU: https://youtu.be/zG3-_QymLiQ?t=3102Honestly, until they shit that turd out once and for all, dont hold your breath.>>2538174I hope that motherfucker is tied to a chair until he finishes what he started BMM.
>>2538127fps scanning, new flight model, atmospheric flight, quantum travel rework, quantum boost are in S42 but this has been the case since 2023
What kind of server maintenance completely wipes out the website and game forums too...
>>2538655Cig is too good to host their web services in cloud.
>>2538655They packed their bags and left. Also, they got your cousin.
>>2538655This is the only way cig employees can get time off
>get itch to reinstall and spend some time on my decade long investment>recent news is the game is in one of its most unplayable statesgiven how utter shit the times I have played it is it even worth coming back to for a but or is it REALLY BAD? last time I played was when they added the second star system.
>>2538774It's bad, but the consensus is it's not bad as it was during 3.x. Surprisingly there aren't so many crashes this patch, at least for me. The big problem is that systems just stop working or work 50% of the time. If you can live with that, then it's worth checking out again. Just don't do anything that involves a heavy time investment or that can lose ingame money from bugs. Lots of people reporting bugged out missions that won't finish, especially with turn ins. Also, if you have an ironclad, you will be crushed to death if you use it, nevermind the million other bugs, such as command module detaching when it pleases. It's quite laughable.
>>2538774Worse than when 4.0 went to live for sure. I mean, almost every piece of content and feature added within the last two years is broken in some way and requires eldritch workaround knowledge harnessed by the most masochistic of backers. New ships receive no testing in the PTU, are sold for hundreds of dollars, and remain in a broken state for weeks or months, while old bugs resurface and decade-old systems like the mobi-glass remain nearly unusable. Up until a few hours ago, a lot of people had logged in and were not able to log back in for days. The last time anything like this happened was 3.18, but at least that patch had the excuse of introducing PES, a monumental tech update that touched every aspect of the game in some way, but with 4.8 all they have as an excuse is "breaking player records."I have to mention the introduction of ship insurance/bricking, but I won't go too in-depth about it here. Basically, they added some pretty harsh aUEC penalties when you want to reclaim your ship with its custom components, while also not fixing ANY bugs that destroy/disappear your ship. You can read it over here, this is our reality going forward:https://robertsspaceindustries.com/spectrum/community/SC/forum/1/thread/alpha-4-8-vehicle-insurance-and-item-bricking-upda/8849042All in all, they have treated the live environment with such disregard it finally collapsed like the sandcastle it is. Will it get better? They have another sale deadline to meet pretty soon with Alien Week, so take a guess...
>>2538835>Up until a few hours ago, a lot of people had logged in and were not able to log back in for days.Alot of people bed logged and couldn't log back in for days* This problem is dying down abit thanks to hotfixes and the maintenance might solve more cases.
>>2538835I've been doing my part by shit talking cig non-stop in global chat. The apologist cig-sympathizers that come out of the wood works and call you a baby for "crying about bugs" is insane. These people are mind-broken for the game. They wear the abuse from cig like a badge of pride.
>>2538877Conditioning by Jarrod who glazes the devs like no other and makes excuses for each and everything talked about in ISC/SCL. You will find most of those who brazenly glaze CIG are covid era fags that haven't gotten the hint yet.
Just a quick couple hours maintenance guys...>5 hours later
>>2538916It's never been more over. For other anons...Some anon last thread told me to go all deadbolts on the m80. It doesn't seem better or worse than s5 deadbolts with s4 laser cannons. I will say that I attempted gilly 8 with a solo m80. I was able to get the polaris fairly red, but I had to leave and return 3 times to rearm until the polaris just started desyncing vast distances and I gave up.. where is a good weak spot to get a generator kill?
>>2538774>New and returning players want some money and gear>Check QVL if its working>Still exploited, still broken>Go to warehouse>Entire QVL area desyncs and we get trapped inside, anyone coming to laugh at us get stuckIts playable but nothing except latest content works (tsg sorta works)Its been this way almost every patch since they started doing starkov rustizen
>>2538979Its bottom, for some reason bottom rear seemed to work on perseus cannons almost better.Im that anon and all i can say is, stay positive - the lasers probably wouldnt have killed the shields.
>>2538979>>2539090Ill check the stats for you when i get the chance. I did it with corsair myself, but even with perseus my gun crews seem to be shit at getting the reactor while i do get it quite consistently (with perseus) ill check the penetration depth and damage after shields and armor for you and lets see.
>>2538979Ok, sorry anon.Turns out im retarded - Deadbolts are not strong enough to go through with shields.Even my corsair stuff is retarded as the best the deadbolt 4's do is help get the shields down to 80% after which the DB5 penetrates.Even after that its way too little damage to get the generator down in reasonable time.I literally wasted your time, my apologies.
>>2539420Very similar thing against HH, but in general the Deadbolt 4 is the issue - your hunch on m6a+dbv might be correct. How much cap does M80 get with it - 25?
>>2538032Grey is a really nice guy actually
Foxyloxy posted a video where tiburon guns can be controlled by pilot.(alt+f4 and relog on remote turret view)Its a clear exploit but It got me wondering, would that work for other ships?
>>2539594Embarassing.
>>2539616What's embarrassing? He is. He just can't stop running his mouth is all.
>>2539628He's a dumbass newgen.
>>2539420>>2539430I'm the original s4 laser cannon / s5 deadbolt m80 loadout purveyor in the thread. I suspected that the s4 deadbolts weren't doing any damage to hammerheads when using them along with s5, since the hammerhead popped around the same time of sustained fire. s4 laser cannons are capable of dropping the shields on the hammerhead though. I tested full deadbolts on the Polaris. As I said, I was able to destroy components on the Polaris through the shields, but I think only the s5's were doing any work. The shields were taking damage from the all ballistic loadout. The s4/s5 deadbolts absolutely wrecks things smaller than the hammerhead, but the laser cannons also work well in that regard. I'm thinking s4 lasers cannons and s5 deadbolts might be the best duo for pve at least, and maybe pvp against bigger targets.
Did they fix the ironclad yet
>>2540158I don't think they will fix it, but allegedly there is a hotfix coming tomorrow that may or may not fix it.
Servers are back up
>>2540110pvp is a mess, I woudn't worry about it too much. If you play PU all pvp is a crapshoot anyway. You could be against a vulture or a idris. group of 7 fighters, 3 idrises.. anything really. And most of the time nothing.Eg. Deadbolt has 1112 projectile speed vs 1390 galdereen repeater (fastest s5)
>>2540231QVL still fucked.
>>2538032I remember seeing a lot of absolute dogshit posts from that name but iirc it was actually on reddit
>>2538029>actually putting on the scienceman suitI respect it but you know you don't have to do that right? it's a recipe for losing all your shit the way this garbage game is. you can just knock one of those nerds out on the scan pad and wake him up with a medpen, it will scan him and open the door
>>2538184so why wasn't it done by hand on new ships built since? their pipelines are fucked and full of holes is why
I love it when PVE shitters who play this think they're getting a safe version of Hathor or CZs.Fucking retard bobs. I've probably dropped 1K+ A1 bombs on Hathor just to keep carinite prices high.
>>2541278isnt the hole constantly open too?kinda deserve it at that point.
>>2541278I've never seen you
>>2541370What if you have? We're anons.>>2541306Allegedly. I've seen people fire the laser on 4.8 too.
>>2534917Took a break for a bit, total blackout.Did I fuck up and come back too late for the aurora LTI?
>>2541685Yuh.
>>2539090>>2538979you can see components in "precision mode"....
>>2541019We were figuring it out as we went along, had a good timeGood to know but I'll probably forget by the time we do it again
>>2541814ShitOh well, thanks anon
>>2542274Yes, as i was describing in earlier thread which is which. Eg. Cylinder is shields, pizza is reactor
>>2541278Why are PvPfags always so uppity and aggro about this shit, no one cares as much as you guys doUnironically PvP is a joke in this game, you don't win with skill you win with luck based on your ping and you are wasting your time learning any flight mechanics when they could drastically change the way everything related to it works (with precedent)
>>2542559Oh no doubt you're going to be an ace in the next flight model while being a shitter in the current one
If they want that ww2 flying, they need to make retrothrusters practically not exist.
>>2542682And remove decoupled I suppose.
>>2542670That's not what I said though? What I said was>you are wasting your time learning any flight mechanics when they could drastically change the way everything related to it worksAre you unable to read?
>>2542712>Are you unable to read?of course not, it's a pvpshitterAnything more than "unga bunga, me throw rock" is beyond them
>>2542685Landing without decoupled feels so fucking AIDS.>>2542559You're bad.
The pvp vs pve drama is the gayest shit in this game. Carebears need to stfu and prepare to be boarded/destroyed or bring an escort. End of story.PvE Carebears when confronted with any adversity:>picrel
>>2543289Player policing is not happening anywhere near the rate i would expect.
>>2543411I understand the frustration of PvE carebears, but I highly doubt that the level of ganking that they bitch about incessantly on spectrum is actually occurring ingame. It's more likely that they are trying to solo active pvp zones and are getting ass blasted when they get ganked in said pvp zones. You have to actively participate in pvp in order to get ganked in most cases. There are outliers, but again, these outliers would always be solved by bringing numbers.
Me personally? I just bail out the ship and then snipe retard pirates from the deep black as they try to enter it, seemingly oblivious to the fact that the door was already open for some reason. No escorts required, and certainly no cucked negotiations.
>>2543431It would help if CIG's game designers weren't all fucking zoomer retards who can't comprehend a game-loop being interesting without combat or pvp.Every game loop must be inundated with dogshit combat and there's no way at all to get certain materials without pvp.
>>2543431Looking at the victims of griefing, its a bit odd that its the same guys always getting fucked. Meanwhile for me its quite rare to get pvp of any kind.I asked if its a US server thing and apparently thats a part of it.
>>2543544I have no real reason to not believe you, afterall my pvevp gang wins more than looses on the few pvp fights we get - but what you wrote reads a lot like fanfic.
>>2543728I wasn't gonna say anything, my first reaction was a duck smoking a cig, laughing and shaking my head in disbelief, but yeah, it's fanfic
>>2543721I've been playing a bit more, and I haven't really seen it a lot lately. I had a single instance where one guy try to ram me while I was in a reclaimer, but his ship deflected and exploded, and then I salvaged it. I haven't even seen signs of it in global chat. The most griefer thing I've seen in global chat recently involved two pve carebears arguing over who got to use the same elevator first. They stayed at an impasse for like an hour, it was honestly insane. Then they both logged, and some rando dude who had been watching the whole thing announced he got all their cargo they were trying to sell.fuckin people...
>>2543772I saw in spectrum that tsg had some griefers, twice on the same guy.Its not impossible, cig designef it like garbage where you can wait in the station and steal all loot when the msision progresses. But to actovely giref and eg. Kill the guy leaving... little odd to hapen to same guy twice.
>>2543772Also, yeah. Back when it was just stanton id see pvp more often. Now after pyro and nyx, being in pyro and nyx.. very little.
>>2543728>>2543761Cope. It's not exactly hard to leave the ship and go unnoticed in space.
4.8.1 happened. Ironclad is still fucked.
>>2544102leaving the ship unnoticed in space is the only believable part
> 4.8.1 patch is entirely for a new mission type> New mission is bugged with old(?) issues around NPC hangar doors> Half of the new missions are gated behind an intro mission that has been bugged foreverThis is such a clown show. Remember to grief whales and abandon stock ships on Infront of a hangar at the end of every play session.
>>2544933Do they have good pay.Iirc saltemike said that Xenothreat event will pay 4mil, so kinda waiting on that to make real money.Been doing QVL for what I've needed so far - even without loot it has that 1 mil reward thats kinda fast and easy to get.
>>2544933The new missions pay out like 50k and include defending a few fuel pods followed by escorting a friendly NPC to a hangar. It is not possible to actually complete the mission because the hangars don't open but even if it was its not good money vs just doing a merc mission.
>>2545053Thats the starting tier, any idea on the biggest difficulty?
Holy shit how incompetent can you be.Super Max FATSUIT.
>>2545265This looks like ass.
>>2545403It has some "cool" elements but whoever made it didnt realize that they NEED to do an atls style exo or it just wont work, if you keep putting pants and shirts on a person, they can no longer move since the radius of their limbs is too large - And this shows in video games by clipping issues. You can see the issues in the legs already. imagine moving..
>>2545265Needs roller blades for mobility.>https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c-sFEdh0a64
>>2545053Mine DID open, but the ship just randomly exploded after they closed. You can also get the version where they leave the hangar, and then QT after reaching a certain point (they will not QT)
>>2544933>aurora mk.1 ""bombers"" just guruba nasheed straight into the fuel tanks>gladiators do a single pass of laser fire, no torps, then turn around and park for you to kill them (when I did it the glad literally nosed into an existing pile of gladiator scrap and stopped)>many targets just spawn in and never move>no mission UI or acknowledgement at any point, have to check alerts to even be sure it's done>criminal version appearing in the legitimate tab right beside foxwell even though the enemies would presumably be law enforcement
>>2545418>>2545265this looks like a onesie like the novikov and pembroke suits. I think the point is that it does limit your mobility quite a bit but makes you nigh invincible. I foresee them having a hard time balancing this.a guy who can't run for cover is going to have to be an absolute tank to make up for it, and they're just going to run into the classic sniper problem, which is also their missile problem; you've introduced dynamite to rock paper scissors. it's going to be a difference of 1hp and your mood that day whether this feels totally oppressive dickhead or an absolutely helpless gimp. it can just become an I win button (or an I lose button) depending on the situation. pinned down in a long corridor with sporadic cover? he's gonna get you eventually. unless you have a plasma grenade, which he probably can't waddle out of in the space of it's entire burn.
>>2545265that neck thing is absolutely going to obscure your vision btw
probably cant use mobiglass on the XL fatsuit
Erm, did the flight model get changed in this hotfix? Something feels really off and suddenly I'm fucking crashing into asteroids doing muscle reflex flight maneuvers that have saved me a million times.
