I have nearly 700 hours on CS2 and I can't get out of Silver 1. What am I doing wrong??
>>
Just clip your stuff and watch how you die. Taking bad angles? Not pre-aiming right? Over-aiming or under-aiming (fix sensitivity).

Hours are meaningless if you don't try to be improve or change.

Ranks are meaningless.

Your enjoyement of the game matters.
>>
Most people who play video games as their defining hobby/trait their whole lives will never actively attempt to get better

you can start WoW or CS orrr Overwatch etc today and if you read some guides/watch some videos you can progress higher/further than a large part of the playerbases that have played only that game for a decade+
>>
trying to learn some smoke/flash/molotov line up
trust me, that could help you get out of that rank.
and try to learn some pre-fire corner, pick some map that you could understand and master it
i got 16k on primere and around 1k+ hour at csgo

those competitive ranks are a mess and u dont have too many games. Premier is a much better way to guage your skill... im 20k premier and silver 2 in comp since i dont play it enough and it starts u out in silver 2 if u win ur first two games lol. We can't see what your doing wrong but the first things you should be learning mechanically are crosshairplacement head level on positions u think they will be, recoil control and spraying more. 90% of your kills should be sprays so opractice the recoil of the rifles a lot in community maps and death match. 3rd. is your movement. u cant shoot while moving with a rifle so practice the hell out of counterstrafes. noobs will crutch by using shotguns and smgs at the low rank instead of getting good at counterstrafing. Learn to peek angles with only A and D and stop with a counterstrafe then shoot and tap crouch. Do not use crouch as a counterstrafe key. make sure u counterstrafe and also crouch if u want to crouch. not just crouch it will not be fully accurate until the animation is complete. When u want to peek an angle and not make noise dont hold shift. Learn to do a small strafe without making noise. If u know the person is there just wide swing and dont worry about noise. Swing past the angle u think his crosshair is holding hit a counterstrafe and shoot. Those 3 mechanical things u want to master. Other than that just work on not making major mistakes and throwing away ur life early when ur playing 5v5 and u should be able to make it past 5k premier with these 4 simple things

oh yes and i forget for having good aim u dont want a ridiculously high sensitivity. Look into the ergonomics of how pros desks are set up and copy that. Big mousepad and no use of arm rests. A sensitivity between 400-1600 eDPI (DPI multiplied by your cs sens). The lower the sens is the more ur arm should be up on the table... even ur elbow if ur only using 400 edpi, 1600 edpi u probably are only gonna have ur pivot point not too many inches down ur forearm from your wrist. Basically lower sens ur gonna need bigger swipes so ur gonna need a bigger art so more of ur arms gotta be on the table. Even for a high sens u might want to still have quite a bit of ur arm on the table to help with stability, but wont be necessary for fast swipe speeds

Learn map/spawn protocols. Recognize the spawn you in a given round, and think about its time-relation to contact points on your enemy.
For example, if you're a T on Mirage and have the spawn closest to mid, you're likely to beat out all but 1 CT spawns to mid and you'll have a great advantage on taking contact.
Another thing to note, ALL utility thrown within the first 15~ seconds of the round is thrown with the intention of disrupting the possible timings the enemy may have.
Aim and general mechanics will develop naturally as you play, don't waste your time with countless hours of aim training. Watch pro player faceit demos and adopt what they do at the beginning of their rounds - this is better practice than any aim training or whatever retards recommend.
https://youtu.be/T3X7ibXXncs?is=jEMWs6WtvmuofQEy Mahone is a great watch if you want to improve your map/spawn protocols

If you wanna get good you gotta get gamesense

What are you doing and what sorta practice are you doing? You ever try face it?

I never cared for ranked mode in counter strike 2 or dota 2 I just play deathmatch and casual / custom games.

Move to a different genre, I was in a similar boat but put in far more hours. Moved to RTS games with no prior experience and became a top 1% player in 2 years of playing. Cs2 is 90% aim and 10% mechanics and if you have poor hand-eye coordination you will be stuck in low ranks forever.
>>
>>2723638
Totally wrong. It's mostly mechanics. Movement and pre-aim matter way more than actual aim. It's all mostly movement like any other valve shooter
>>
I don't even know how people have time to get good enough for this game if they have a job.
>>
>>2724250
i don't think you understand just how bad some people are at aiming, a lot of people are hopeless at it. it's the same for a lot of games too. for example in rts someone could have a 60 apm ceiling lol.
>>2737607
they played it for 20 years
>>
>>2737979
How can you find out your APM ceiling? How can you just practice APM?
For aiming every game is different, but every game requires your base mouse control, and you can train that with aim trainers.. I think that's the best way for someone new to FPS or keyboard/mouse FPS to get a hang of getting decent aim first. I don't think CS requires much mouse control skill than heavy tracking aim in quake etc. So Much is just pre-aim, recoil control mechanics and abusing spraying everything, aiming with keyboard etc.
I've always had terrible hand eye coordination when it comes to catching balls and throwing stuff etc, but I have top 10% aim in kovaaks benchmarks etc and if I grind it an hour a day I make decent improvements. IDK man I think video games are the easiest thing for genetic failure subhumans to get good at. Or at least way easier than traditional sports. Require a lot less good genetics

shouldn't take anywhere more than 4k hours to reach faceit lvl 10
1k hours like OP is around should take you to around 10k premier so basically 1k hours to become average.
That's considering you aren't using a retarded sens. Mostly play 5v5 and have a good mindset where you are focused and not autopiloting when you play. And spend maybe 20% of your other time not playing 5v5 and working on your mechanics, learning theory util etc... But yea usually see most people hit around 10k in 1k hours just grinding premier and deathmatch and not really ever watching demos or learning much theory or util.
>>
>>2738271
This is considering you have shit aim and its your first competitive FPS game. If u have good aim from other games u might hit 10k in even 200 hours or less since you can crutch on your aim a lot, as long as you put time on practicing your counterstrafes so ur aim actually goes straight
>>
>>2738263
you can't train really apm brother, you're either fast or you aren't. by the time you totally internalize where the hotkeys are and what they do that's pretty much as fast as you'll ever get.

that's like saying someone with 90 IQ can become a physicist if they study more
