Same low energy discussions as spectrum, time and and time again. >griefing>piracy>cargo spaceSoftest playerbase imaginable for a space combat game.>inb4 it's not space combat game, it's a life simulator Fuck off. You'll get your wish though, because CIG is so fucking incompetent and they're destroying dogfighting via UI and "balance" decisions.

>>2690859I've honestly been playing more now, than ever. Whilst the game is in an extremely bad state, there's surprisingly a lot of engaging content to get into. Some gameloops and ships are cursed and will only lead to frustration. Avoiding these cursed meta hazards keeps you away from bugs/crashes.
>>2691177Bro this is a running thread
>>2691221Too real >>2691394There's a ton to do, but it's the lamest, most non-engaging PvE content created in the last decade. Ships don't fly and mobs run in place, all with an average server tickrate of like 10fps. Shit is bad.>>2691366Where's the vitriol list?

I got the chance on using the Tiburon turrets. We were fully crewed and that thing just shreds. Also, I feel like the turrets are better than the Perseus not damage wise but how smooth it is and better firing arcs

>>2693087I'm gonna be honest with you. Murder-hobo is a vibe that I just don't think enough people are capable of truly understanding and appreciating in this game. SC really gives you one of the ultimate playgrounds to just.. do what you want. The number of ways you can PK in this game are really just limited by your imagination and your charm. You could.. I dunno:>Senselessly gank>Bait UEX traders into double-crosses>Offer to ferry people on a fast ship for long distances, build up trust, and then one day just... cut the engine, pull the QT drive, and hunt them down on the ship 1 by 1>Hang around drop off outposts and drop large boxes on traders>Volunteer as crewmen on larger crews and slowly subtly sabotage the ship and try to go amogusYou have a really big canvas to paint your own story, anon.

>>2693458>>2693413Sincerely, if you have such a problem with PVP and ganking, there's two things you should be doingPester CIG to flesh out the crime stat and rep system to be more robustAnd go be a militia and do something about it instead of whining to daddy Roberts to protect your little bitch ass.
>>2693874>Pester CIG to flesh out the crime stat and rep system to be more robustBut that doesn't sell ships; ever-changing meta and power creep does.
>>2693886It does sell ships, wtf do you think capships are.
>>2693898Or rather, not making a better system sells them.
>PvE event>no sovlful ship in store like the hawk or the glad>"here, you can have the paladin and the tiburon :)"nice job CiGgersis the paladin even nice to fly solo since you don't have the 4xs5 ? HP and shield is high I guess
>>2693472If you are just going for ships, arrow with all ballistic repeaters (shredders) is THE pvp meta for right now. Something like the corsair or taurus with deadbolts will handle bigger ships while tanking smaller ship weapons, while also allowing you to snatch up any random cargo you find that isn't contracted. If you have friends, the perseus is just downright nasty, theres not much anyone can do to stop you except bring another perseus. If you are going for "the most dangerous game" hunting, the Starfarer has a very maze-like interior that is easy to get lost in, especially if you are panicking. Also, it has a pretty fast qt drive last time I checked.. perfect for ferrying people around when suddenly something is wrong with the qt drive *shotgun racking sounds*. Any big ship that you can get lost in will, really. If you PK in Stanton, inside monitored space, the game will tell the PK'd who did it and they will have a choice to give you crimestat. You can get crimestat in monitored spaces in nyx too. Pyro is a free for all, not sure if you get crimestat near gateways. Taking down comm arrays turns the local area into unmonitored space, but also creates a contract for players to come intervene or turn it back on.Happy hunting, anon. The silencer in the game is incredibly effective and I recommend it for amogus type activities since it is effectively silent.
>>2693413I posted >>2693156You should really let your hair down and enjoy what the game has to offer. Besides, anyone who has engaged in pvp, consensually or unconsensually, knows that pve players are always the worst people in the game with the worst attitudes. You're proving it right now. Nobody else in the game makes death threats or wishes ill-grievance on people, except for pve players. If you need someone to be righteously mad at, be mad at CIG for putting out such broken updates, while pretending the game is still Alpha to shirk the responsibility of good quality control. If it makes you feel any better, I am extremely kind and try to help people when I can IRL. I've done more volunteer work in my life than you could ever hope to imagine. Star Citizen is just a game.
CIG really needs to implement NPC police in stanton. Won't happen though until Chris has drained every last drop of subscriber money to gargle mark hamills balls.
>>2694360While I agree, that High-sec/Low-sec should have means to discourage complete and total lawlessness, this won't fix the problem for people who absolutely abhor pvp gameplay. CIG will just gate lucrative high risk high reward content in open pvp areas, and then pve players will whine and cry when they get ganked in said areas. It's what is already happening. The audacity for a pve player to complain about pvp in Pyro is just downright telling. Pve players want pvp players dead, with cancer, and out of the game. They don't want to coeexist. Hopefully Squadron 42 will get the pve toxic player menace out of SC. Pvpve and pvp chads have my upmost respect.pve players are mentally weak and incapable of accepting that they made a mistake against real human threats in-game or that they could possibly ever be wrong. They are the same normies who go to football games and get in fights with other team fans and riot after a game. They have no problem with hostile npc's though (easy to cheese and predictable). Ironically, they are like the npc's in-game with a bad case of main character syndrome.Mog Complete.
>>2694406If there was more reason to play and organize, there would be more player policing
>>2694412Agree 100%. CIG is the root cause for rampant ganking right now. There's nothing else in the game that works, so might as well do the one thing that does work. That said, they should never take away the open pvp stance in-game. It makes everything much more engaging and rewarding/punishing/thrilling. CIG really needs to fix their shit, so pve loops actually work, rather than working flawlessly until the last final freight elevator down button is pushed and they lose everything. In a way, I think pve player toxicity comes from them being constantly frustrated from engaging in the most broken gameplay loops in the game. Unfortunately, the vocal pve players are sunk cost fallacied into doubling down and saying everyone else is wrong, rather than accepting that they are playing a fundamentally flawed gameloop.
>>2694342Same. Just a game and I like it when ships explode. PvE players hurl the worst slurs, everytime.>Exhibit 1: this thread Anyone who gives a gf and asks questions in chat usually gets an invite to discord to join us along with training if they want it.There's actual scumbag behavior in the game, though. Trade scams, blocking pads, anything that takes it out of game (not limited to, but including doxxing) blocking ASOPs, etc. Getting blown out in your Ares by a competent Arrow pilot is just the game. Learn how to dogfight and take some agency back into your life.
>>2694360This won't matter as much as you think. The infrastructure is too bad and the NPCs are ineffective. I think it's more likely they just eat server resources and they won't protect you at all.If the answer is "fix NPCs to be effective", you're reinforcing the low skill playstyle of needing an Idris to do anything because most players can't deflect and have to tank every shot.
>>2694799>if you fix npc's to be effective you're reinforcing the low skill playstyleI think you just want to continue to grief unabated. Personally I don't think that CIG giving their NPC police hit scan insta kill guns is a bad thing. If you want to pirate you should be doing it in pyro and nyx, not stanton.t. lives in pyro.
>>2694906Bud, if they put hitscan instagib guns in the game on npc's, hackers/exploiters will find a way to get them. This problem is strictly due to lack of brain cells in the afflicted population. Travel in groups with fighter escorts and keep an eye on the skies. Problem solved. For the love of god don't put things in the game that will be exploited/hacked/abused to everyone's misfortune. The very loud and very vocal people complaining about pvp are the same people that load their cargo ships up with cargo that costed them ALL of their aUEC, then went ALONE, on a ship that even has crewable turrets to defend itself but is too slow and too weak to defend itself from just the pilot seat, then ignored all warning signs, landed at a random outpost, and got got...so many bad decisions... you'd either have to know you were gambling and accept the outcome, or, be dumb enough to think you were doing everything right but the game is wrong. I guess CIG threw them a bone with contracted cargo since they no longer have to waste their own money on cargo. No concessions from CIG will ever satisfy them, though. They are skinner-box-style dopamine addicts from mmorpg's where making number go up is an easy but time-invested process with strict rules designed to reward them for time-consuming play (because more time = more subscription money). You never hear pve players complain about how long it took to successfully complete a mission. You only hear them talk about all the time they wasted with no reward. Their end-game victory is to have pve servers with no actual threat other than cheesable npcs.tl;dr - Open PVP is critical to this game for the majority of players. PVE players will cry until they get an "i win" buttonI need to stop yapping, bros.
>>2695351>Bud, if they put hitscan instagib guns in the game on npc's, hackers/exploiters will find a way to get them.No they won't.
paladin on salepaladin solo good or shit ?
>>2695353>casually ignores all the current exploits and previous inventory steal hax in recent patchesI see you're either new or retarded.
>>2695375>if you do this then (headcanon made up fanfic story)No it won't.
>>2695370It has 4 s4 guns for the pilot with 4 SCU storage on a cumbersome ship. If you bring friends, it has 4 s5 guns on one turret and 2 s4 on the other 2 turrets. It's a multi-crew aimed at taking down hammerheads and smaller.
>>2695389so guardian mx better for solo? I am not inviting my friends on this scam
>>2695419The hand's down best solo ships are connie taurus or corsair. You can earn enough money with those to start exploring around with in-game ship purchases but it'll be a little bit of a grind.Corsair is cheaper than the connie taurus in-game, but the connie taurus is cheaper than the corsair IRL.>Guardian MX ..has 4 xs4 with s2 shields, which will get you up to being able to solo a something like a connie reliably. If you are going after bigger ships like hammerheads, you need s5 ballistic cannons.>Regular Guardian ..has 2 xs5 guns>Corsair ..has 4 x s4 and 2 x s5 pilot guns along with an s3 shield and heavier armor that will tank most fighter rounds and give you time to escape.>Constellation Taurus ..has 4x s5 guns along with an s3 shield and fairly large cargo bay for the ship size. Same thing for heavier armor, but connie has double the hull hitpoints of corsair. It really depends on what you want to do. If you don't mind grinding, apparently refueling is god-tier for money right now. I don't have any ship recommendations for that though. The taurus and corsair run around 6-8 million aUEC ingame. Guardian and Guardian MX are around the same price. Meta fighter in the game is arrow atm, which runs 1.9 mil ingame.Hope this helps
>>2694906I promise you there is not an NPC in the game that will stop me from killing you if that's what I want.>>2695351Exactly this. It'll break the basic gameplay design of NPC ships=PC ships, plus they'll just get captured and be OP used for actual griefing. Honestly, I expect AI blades to be the same way. I don't know why someone thinks their Carrack is going to fare better with AI blades if I can navdrop a group of AI blade Idris/Reclaimer/Tyllilululu/Scorpius/etc instead of crewing those guns. It'll be the same with AI crew. They just won't be very effective but they WILL be effective enough that you'll never put someone in a turret again over just bringing another bladed ship.>>2695382Def new or trolling; no further engagement with you is required until good faith argument.

>>2694272>but also creates a contract for players to come intervene or turn it back onThis doesn't get abused enough. There should be a concerted effort to turn these off and also ambush anyone turning them back on
>>2695580Pvp in open pvp isn't griefing. Go play a sp game if you want to relax. You are entering the jungle when you log into PU. What you're saying is like saying killing another player in day z is griefing. All your talk about sucking dicks and doing drugs sounds like projection to me with the opinions you are espousing. The vernacular all but confirms it. Nice self portrait also.
>>2695536It does. Thanks.why does the expedition / cargo ship have 4 s4 and 2 s5 pilots gun??I am impressed every day but this ciggotry.
>>2695601>nice self portrait alsoLmao you're so mad, truly the pot calling the kettle black
>>2694906>I don't think that CIG giving their NPC police hit scan insta kill guns is a bad thing.Well it's probably a good thing you're not actually a game designer at CIG because that is the most retarded bullshit imaginable. Then again, doesn't matter how much you throw at a player, npcs are mostly ineffective unless the player is literally retarded. But seriously, if you don't want to get PVPed, hire a guard, share the mission spoils, it's that simple.
>>2695557>I promise you there is not an NPC in the game that will stop me from killing you if that's what I want. There's the tranny.
>>2695604Drake is somewhere between the shitty windowless cargo van's ukranian refugees all seem to have, an AA gun mounted on a toyota hylux/tacoma, russian military vehicles/hardware sold to the 3rd world, and Dodge vehicles with all the weird shit like hidden compartments they add to all their vehicles strictly intended for illegal shit.In-game lore-wise, Drake say their ships are for this or that, but it's really all just for piracy.
>>2695353I can steal literally any ship in the game from NPCs with an EMP ship and a plasma grenade. You can store NPC ships in your personal hangar to keep them long term.Maybe you should go play No Man's Sky or something, it's safer for you there.

>>2695652Incredible reply buddy, but next time give yourself a few minutes/hours to get your breathing under control and your heartrate back to normal
>>2695628Alright I can somewhat see that. The taurus with 4 s5 is fucking retarded but it's a RSI so it's obvious why it's like that.
>>2693458Those people should be heavily armed and supplied and just airdropped into enemy nations to wreak havoc before they are eventually gunned down.
>>2695370Its absolute highlight is that it has stairs.
>>2695604Corsair is one of the "punches above its weight" ships. I dont know if its the first one, but its one of the ships that was clearly the best ship when it launched, its been nerfed a few times now but currently its ok since it got some armor. You can think of corsair as the default ship for pyro, has a lot of guns, cargo and big fuel tanks to jump around in pyro.
>>2695676Both ships have reasonable multiple entry points for both ground and space. The taurus is probably the objectively better ship, but the corsair grows on you and I like back ramps more than droppable cargo trays, so for me, it's the corsair. I also like the rogue vibe of Drake, since I'm pretty sure it was inspired by Joss Whedon style ships from alien resurrection and firefly.
>>2695718Corsair is a bit of an odd ship. Its simultaneously so many things>Look grows on you>Looks nice landed>Wings are surprisingly useful>Wings are very annoying>Turrets are ruining the outline and useless>Nice guns for pilot>Interior is one of the best in the game>Interior has too many doors>Nice new armor>Very low hpIt used to be pretty reliable ship overall but now the elevator has started to bug quite a bit - careful!
>>2695780Stock weapon load out for it is nice this patch and is good for pve and needing to reload. The Connie taurus comes with 4 galdereens that will need to be swapped, probably for 1 mil auec for laser cannons or deadbolts.

>>2696148Bro, they are projecting. All PVE'ers are the same. They lash out and insult you with personal attacks, threats, etc, while never looking in a mirror. Why would it be any different here? All the stuff we've said in this thread about mechanics that would get abused is true, and demonstrably true using actual events that have happened like you said. Someone said I was using headcanon earlier, when I was describing solo traders I've seen in game countless times. They live in a fantasy inside a game.
>>2696148>I'm saying (made up head canon fantasy dream that isn't real)
>>2696029>0 consequence or pushbackThey want players to face IRL punishments for destroying their ships anon.
>>2696588And "those" guys are retarded, actual piracy is within the game rules 100%(doesnt mean people arent allowed to call you a cunt THOUGH)But if you do dumb shit like stand in other peooles freight elevators or try to bug them in armistice just to piss people off again and again then your account should be banned/bricked until 1.0 and im not kidding
>>2689397Bare minimum 1080p/30 setup, budget
>>2695604Drake ships are marketed as one thing but are actually another, with piracy being the underlying theme. The Caterpillar for example has 'parking censors' that are meant to be used as a battering ram into enemy vessels. Once it latches on, the crew can physically cut into the hull of the target vessel, steal whatever they need, then disembark with the Command Module to get away. This isn't headcanon. It's literally what CIG said the dual-use purpose of the Caterpillar is supposed to be, hence then name.
>>2696684Agreed.They need to fix PvP bounty hunting too. Last time I tried it there were 4 experiences, equally distributed.>target just sitting in grimhex doing nothing for hours>target camping random poi armistice so his buddy can try to gank>target disconnects as soon as you catch up to them>target is just some poor sap who accidentally shot the wrong NPC on a bunker missionAnd they all pay the same, offer no information on the target, and half of them don't work at all.
>>2696948>target is a vulture that scraped an abandoned ship in the wrong place

>nerf the good ballistics by 50% of their alpha damage up to size 3>don't touch the restIncredible "balancing pass" by the cunts. Truly the might of a billion dollar studio
>>2696948What's there to fix? That's the nature of the system. Before you give a long winded hopium speech about what bounty hunting "should be", replete with smokey bars and Johns in corner booths offering intel - please don't. Focus on how SC actually operates.>>2698345It's over. There's no vision, just spreadsheet balancing all the way down.
>>2695628Dodge has always been my main comparison. It's got it all, the focus on huge engines and straight line acceleration/speed, the bombastic marketing and brand image, the iffy build quality, making everything from sports cars (fighters) to large commercial vehicles, and the fact that their vehicles are associated with both cops and criminals. They even have 5 letter names that start with D and end with E. On the Cutlass specifically, everybody always compares it to the Hilux but I've always thought it's more like the Huey with those side doors and the range of roles it fits into.
>>2698818It's what happens when they shit out over a hundred ships when they still can't decide on how they should feel, fly and interact.
>>2699290It's so disheartening. We've been watching them throw things at the wall in real time to see what sticks since (at least) the introduction of Engineering. It is extremely hard for me to believe they have a vision of the overall mural and we're too close to the wall to see it. The swings are simply too massive in random directions every time.
>>2698818>what's there to fixEasy. Bounty missions in the mobiglas should:>State the last known location of the target>State the ship/vehicle they were last seen in>State whether they are known to be operating with accomplices>State their CS level and what their recorded offenses are>Scale payments based on the aboveAdditionally, when a bounty holding player is in an armistice zone, they should be on a timer. If they stay too long, they lose protection. This one is trickier to implement, and maybe that's not the right answer to the problem but it's an issue that needs to be solved somehow.
>>2698345What do we even use now? M5A's? What even is the plan for weapon balancing?
>have to add a special rule to my password generators regex because somehow, after 13 years, CIG managed to break the password input field on both the launcher and website to where special characters cannot be the last character in your passwordWAOW!

Can someone explain how people say Star Citizen has more depth than Elite? I feel like whenever people say this, it's like we are not even playing the same game. I agree that with the state of Elite being mile wide deep as a puddle but compared to SC it feels like SC is lacking in terms of gameplay depth when it comes to space ships, ship combat, trading, exploring, and overall multiplayer activities.I get that you have the ability to walk around ships etc. but I feel like that's kind it? Ship combat everyone just kind of uses the same weapons. Mining seems the same and the only important factor is what ship you use. Trading and navigating also feel like point a to b and that your don't have to chart your routes and avoid certain jump points for fuel efficiency. I like both games but I never understood how people say that Elite is shallow and SC isn't. I'm sure SC will improve whenever 1.0 releases but when people compare it to what the game is now against other games, it's fucking wild when they say SC has depth and other games don't.
>>2699649Not bad, anon, not bad. I don't mind the god marker but the gameplay of being within comm range or using your mobi to by visible was neat prior to 4.0. I don't stress about people sitting at Grim Hex, though. There's no sense wasting time over it and I truly don't think there's a lot of the playerbase getting a CS and then standing at Grim Hex simply to waste your time.>>2700354Elite and SC are broadly pretty similar, but Elite feels empty and dead because it's a solo experience most of the time.
>4.10: C-788 Cannon : Alpha damage increased from 325 to 1200 (+269%)Ok cig...
>>2700463>I don't stress about people sitting at Grim HexYeah if the bounty mission said that's where they were last seen, I would just ignore it. As is you have to waste a bunch of time taking missions, seeing they are camping at ghex, etc. Just annoying.
>>2699719Don't tell CiG but I've been fucking players over with 3 dominance laser shotguns on my gladius
>>2700354Two things:Elite is a mp game where the "pvp slider" was implemented. It is a dead npc game where you might as well be playing a sp game.Second, SC was designed from the ground up at this point to be a FPS game with ships as a key component, whereas ED was designed ground up as a ship game with FPS bolted on late in its life. The depth comes from the level of detail in the worlds and the seamless experience going from waking up in your bed, getting a whammers cheeseburger, kitting up/loading stuff on the ship, taking off, flying to a planet, landing, exploring a cave, getting fucked off lost in it because of how big it is, getting ganked by some rando murder-hobo who followed you in for the lulz. Alternatively, another demonstration of depth would be breaking out of prison, traversing through the side-caves up to the surface to have a bro waiting for you, or having to steal the ursa and ride to the aid center, and you have something like a 100i that you can pull and escape the moon in. Add to that the absolutely insane creative ways you can achieve just about anything since you can EVA. Not to mention the absolutely insane concept of even being able to have other people run around on your ship and seamlessly transition between inside and out, doing stuff like air assaults or boarding chasing ships.Ultimately: ED is a game about ships. SC is a game about FPS and ships. I've tried playing ED at least 5 times as an alternative to SC after 3.18 ran me off from SC, but something about it just doesn't interest me. I don't know if it's the janky-vibe or if I'm just too smoothbrained to appreciate it. I got some new sticks coming in though, so I might give it a chance again. The vast size of ED is probably it's biggest draw for me.Sidenote: No Man's Sky and Elite Dangerous seem like they are in their own game category/genre separate from Star Citizen with more of a focus on exploration. SC seems like it is a half FPS half space "sim" gta open pvp sandbox.
>>2699649I like your idea, but also alternatively:>Get rid of god-marker for bounties>No more specific bounty contracts for players>Get rid of armistice>Give bounty hunters ability to purchase a 50K aUEC tool that interfaces with Comm stations and only works for targets inside monitored space>Device is hand-held, but can also be equipped as an MFD on all ships>Device only works without crimestat>Device is lootable to add risk to using it>Device tracks implants unknowingly inserted into regeneration imprints of criminals with bounties when they respawn or some other lore bs>Device functions simply as a compass, and can be switched between individual targets within a max detection radius, never know targets name>Add in some bar intel gathering if you want to find out the targets name, maybe have local npc's gift you small sums of credits or special equipment to help in taking down the bounty and ridding them of the nuissance (for immersion and bounty hunter incentive to use this feature)>Suspect Tracker Device (STD) is extremely inaccurate and very general the further away you are from suspects - If you across a system, it gives you a quadrant that the suspect is in - if you are in the quadrant, it gives you a planet system - etc-If you are in the same planet system as the suspect and they have entered QT or are entering QT, Suspect Tracker Device predicts their intended location>Once you track down suspect to within 500m, get a motion-tracker-esque view on device showing targets location (debatable, maybe this is too much>Upon taking down suspect, with a bounty hunter device present, their consciousness is redirected to prison.>Can bring their body in for additional compensation
>cont'dMake it interesting by doing some weird shit like:>suspect tracking is tied to using mobiglass, suspect can take off mobiglass, but no longer has access to any features>suspect can throw down an emp grenade or activate a jammer to try and escape>Make devices active only if a bounty hunter with no crimestat is holding them>Make the devices stay active for some short window like 5 minutes if bounty hunter dies or leaves the device on ship or loses it somehow>If suspect gets ahold of a tracker device, they can use a tigerclaw or other hacking device to temporarily remove their bounty from the system for an hour or some other amount of time>Add ECM into game to jam radar or screw with QT navigation acquisition system to facility ship to ship combat
>>2701068How big of ships does this take out? I'd switch to it when they kill ballistics, especially if it ganks big ships.
>>2701834on my gladius ballistic scattergun is easier on your cap and shoot faster and it does 2500 damage, 2500 alphaDominance does 2600 for 3300.For big ship make sure to stay over the 200 300m limit otherwise you'll get blown to kingdom fuck. That or if you're orbit, blow up the thrusters. The few time I saw an arrow it's either your pass fuck them up so hard they run away or they're smart and keep their distance.Nobody like their shield suddenly breaking and their body going red.
>>2702000>chektI'll experiment with this this weekend. Just got an arrow setup with mil grade a stuff, flight blade, and shredders. I need to get my red gladius kitted up so I can take her back out. What components are you running on gladius if you don't mind me asking?
>>2702042pure stock other than the weapons. I don't bother with them because the upgrade barely justify the grinds / price. For missiles when it works I always grab rattlers.
>>2702059Thx, I will probably just throw excess stealth components I have on the gladius. I don't mess with missiles this patch. Stealth with scatterguns sounds like a hilarious combo.
>>2702073I would have tried it on my talon but there's no ballistic or laser scattergun.
Last night spent some time stealing ships from NPC missions.Stole a Cutlass, Cutter, Valkyrie, a couple Freelancers. Routine is simple: Pop their shields then distort them, open their ass, kill the pilot and any turret gunners (sometimes requires a plasma grenade) and then take the ship back to a station and you can store it. Using a Warlock it costs 12k or less per ship (claim on the warlock so you can get back out there.)It doesn't show up on the pad with a "Store" option but if you summon a different ship, it'll store the one on the pad, even if there's a body in it.Problem is, next time you summon the ship, it just despawns. Seems any mission ship will do so once the mission is over. You can however strip all the components off of it, so there's that. So, any ships that are known to not despawn? Are they from particular missions or locations?
>>2702504Very nice. Supposedly you can steal the polaris on gilly 8. Usually the bots don't move around for a solid 1-2 min. You could probably use a hover bike to get close and gank the pilot then have ai crewed turrets. What you do after that is really up to your imagination.
>>2702042Components aren't in a very necessary replacement spot for fighters in ballistic meta. Shields matter very little. Power plant HP doesn't vary a whole lot and you don't need the pips. Coolers are a solved problem with Vaporblocks and Heatsafes. If you're just starting out with fighters, you're probably not going to have a good time with scatterguns.
>>2703054I'd say the power pips matter personally, but 1 extra pip isn't as big a deal as it may seem I guess. Cooling is a joke, most ships you can even take a pip off the stock coolers to shove into shields or engines without overheating.
>>2703054It's not my first rodeo, have been on the leaderboards high up before. I've been playin solo for a while though, orgs just aren't my thing right now so I might be a little out of tune on the finer details.I have absolutely fucked some shit up with scatterguns in the past before balancing got all weird, so I'm excited to try them again on some unlucky pyro tourists.
>>2703271TTK is so long, and alpha gating so punishing, I would just manage expectations a bit. It's not going to be a 3 day in BR clip
>>2704007Thx, I'll keep that in mind if I get around to using it.
>>2689397what is august bundle.
>>2705088you're mum's used underwear and the broken condom from your conception
>>2703238Power matters, but only in the sense of getting enough power to every component. It's generally a solved problem in the current patch with the exception of a few ships like the Guardian and Blade. JS powerplants, for instance, don't do much beyond a (little) disto damage HP, a little bit of HP, and a few extra power pips only needed in a few circumstances. Coolers is literally no thought required - just use Vaporblocks/Iceblocks. For shields, either Civ A or stock works fine with minimal gain from FRs. >component balance sucks and has for awhile
I managed to torp the idris and disabled it's turrets and engines while shields were down. I soloed an Idris with a Tibby. I don't know, anons, but this ship is pretty good tbqh.
>>2705385Shut the fuck up you in debt faggot. Pay your debts.
>>2705175Just to check to make sure I'm understanding it right: Radar has a min and max assist range. I assume that means assist range at min power, and max power. The thing that throws me off is the competition grade (SNSR6 or whatever) has a fixed power draw, but a min and max assist range that is different. So what's the deal there?
>>2705448Do you not have a job? Shit was like 250$ ccu lmao
>>2705524>u-u-uh d-d-d-do you have a j-job!Yup. You're in debt LMAO. PAY YOUR DEBTS WIMP.
>>2705524It's a sour grapes thirdie, probably from kolkata. He really gets upset when you logically explain to him what disposable income is.What's your favorite ship, anon?
>>2705524>ccuNTA but who do you think you're kidding with this line? You didn't ccu it. You paid for it. Why even lie about it? Post your ccu chain.
>>2705899>"He spent his money... and I care about it??!"retard alert!-------------------------------------Anyone know how current bounty hunting works? If you down a bounty do you get the money or do you have to finish them off when they are down? Are player bounties bugged if you finish the bounty?
>>2706072I'm not the same guy. I have around 15 ships and all of them are LTI and I'm a member of concierge. I'm not gonna make fun of you for being poor but what are you hoping to achieve here? Self-owning because you can't afford any of it? If you think buying ships is expensive, I also have 4 gaming pc's, two sets of hosas, a racing wheel and pedals, vr headset and motion controllers, decent studio monitor speakers and monitor headphones all with accompanying amps running through external sound card, primo m+kb, head tracking, etc etc, I could go on. SC is literal chump change compared to all the other stuff.Maybe you should enjoy the areas in life where you are rich rather than enviously obsessing from afar. I'd trade it all for a nice big paid off house with a 30-50 acre plot of land near some wilderness or a beach but I'm not willing to suffer the best years of my life struggling for that. I'm satisfied with my lot, bro. Are you?
>>2706232>NTAVery pathetic behaviour.
What the fuck even is this conversation? Are we trying to shame people for being poor for using CCUs, or for not using CCUs and wasting money? y'all kinda dumb either way, bragging about pay to win.
>>2689397Star Citizen really needs a low graphics option that works. Nothing is going to fuck this game more than being unplayable on a potato PC. I should be able to run this at 1080p/30 on my Intel i9 6969FE with a GTX 1080 and 32 gigs of DDR4 on a regular ass SSD
>>2705498Min and Max ranges are the ranges at which your pip will appear. Essentially your radars current "max".At minimum power, it's min range. It will then scale by however many meters per pip up to max range (wow). The buffer is how many "extra" meters you get if you exceed your current "max".SNSR7/SNSR7X have a fixed power draw and are generally the pick as the minimum value does not apply, so you get max radar range for a very economical fixed cost. Prophets (Stealth A) have their use as well for low signature builds.
I fixed the weaponsMake it so only ballistic weapons have to deal with armor gatingBOOM thank you
>>2706232Is this a copypasta?
>>2705899Whoops 290$ It took a year of ccu which wasn't bad since I thought it would take longer than that. Railen & Clad ccus were pretty nice.
>>2705385I solo'd the idris with a fire extinguisher taken from my aurora mk.1 but cool I guess>>2706908>we need Brazilians and IndiansNo, there are enough retards. I like my space game to be relatively high trust and polite (read: white)
>>2707090
>there are people who unironically prefer the Cumstainlation over the GODsair
>>2706072CCU bros where we at?
>>2707110It's objectively better and is easier to land anywhere than the corsair. Just sayin'>t. corsair flier
>>2706786You and the thirdie shitter share many similarities. Anyways, The best pvp ship in the game right now is the arrow, acquired for 1.9 mil. Pay to win is really a meme.
>>2707132Is it possible to get this much discount without using a referral ship or those really old ccus?
>>2707164probably not after all the standalone ship pricing changes made to specifically prevent this, here's the CCU path though.
>>2707132My most expensive ships are in a pack so I can't really post impressive individual CCUs but here's my whole fleet total. >>2707164You could probably have done it with CCUs just from the last 2-3 years, especially if you'd bought the Perseus in concept before its release price hike. My Railen alone was $155, so a $245 discount, and that was completely done with a ship and CCUs I bought during last IAE.
>>2707147>pvp is only light fighters and always will beand how right you are
>>2707665Pvp on bigger ships is all about who wants to stay around and slug it out, unless you're a cargo shitter, then you're like a lamb lost in a hostile jungle. It almost seems more sensible to board bigger ships to take out the crew.
>>2707147In arena commander.
>>2708145Or you know, doing something else and pvp is just a part of it.Enjoy stopping a Polaris/Idris doing hathor/exech etc. with arrow.
>>2708335>You cant damage the ship in any way>You can only have 1 person in your ship>You have 0 respawns for FPS while a polaris has 16>you cannot go anywhere near the capship unless you keep moving fast, so no boarding without long swim or run>You dont instantly know how many people there are in a capship>Capship can have mantis in it or any other ship or vehicle you didnt expect to have to fight>etc.Arrow can be the best pvp fighter. Arrow can be the best pvp ship for the community who pvp's for fun.But arrow cannot be the best pvp ship in the game. That is probably perseus right now.
>>2707103When the barrier to entry is a $2000 machine and few can justify spending that, SC goes under because hardware optimization is poor and the average person can't play the game. For the same reason I'm trying to sell my ships, I don't think this game is going anywhere.
>>2708382Most current gen games struggle on 2000 dollar pc, even if we take pre AI prices
>>2708390And no, i dont mean it as a compliment to SC/CIG. Its just a fact.
>>2708390 i5 14400F, 5060, 32gb ddr5-6000, budget NVMe, hopefully by the time the game releases budget builds can run it
>>2708390I did the math and the post-AI prices to rebuild my current rig is something like $6500. It's actually outright ridiculous. Thankfully it should carry me for a number of years, or I'd have to sell my fleet on the gray market
>I got it free with ccu!>I barely spent a penny>-200000k in debtKek
>>2708928I built 2-3k € machine with some cheap contacts around at 2023 and some old parts. The only REAL bottleneck seems to be 8gb vram.
>>2709270This episode was so good, especially when he paused to pull his phone out trying to get an Idris.
>>2700512Corsair is going to rape with that loadout.
>>2709521Yeah, all they did was shift the meta to another different high alpha ballistic set.
>>2710150Now every ship with a large amount of s4's will be the new meta.
Grey, you're kind of based. No need to reply. Honestly, fuck all the haters.
>>2712457Fuck you bitch.t. Grey
>>2712973Nah grey wouldnt say that
grey more like gay
