>July 8 - Fall of Atreus
No Delays - Enemy health is continuously increased with mission duration up to a limit (think hard siege mode wave 20+ at the worst)
Coordinated Elimination - Enhanced enemies spawn periodically and must be killed with focused fire from multiple squad members
Intelligence Lapse - The enemy faction that does not usually appear spawns instead
Shockwave Plating - Nearby explosions restore armour
>July 15 - Obelisk
Warp Storm - A psychic storm periodically hits
Squad Unity - When you do not maintain close proximity to squad members, armour and contested health restoration are disabled
Sharpshooter - Ranged damage at ranges greater than 10 meters is increased by 75%
>July 22 - Termination
Avenger - Last brother standing temporarily gains a significant increase to attack and defense
Posthumous Proliferation - Slain enemies spawn Spores or Chaos skulls (depending on faction)
Mine Field - Spore mines spawn periodically and travel to players
Fatal Contamination - Corruption and Intoxication cause instant incapacitation, but their build-up takes 50% longer
>July 29 - Ballistic Engine
Strike Out - Gun Strike cannot be used
Hyperopia - Ranged damage at ranges less than 10 metres is reduced by 75%
Sharpshooter - Ranged damage at ranges greater than 10 meters is increased by 75%

Realistically, how many years away is SM3?
>>
i want more gameplay content
i don't care about capes
>>
>>2689924
Depends how much of a graphical overhaul they plan on doing.
That and how much they want to revamp melee combat.
I really don't see SM3 needing to look that much better so they could honestly port over a ton of enemies for its PvE stuff and fiddle with more of the mechanics.
>>
>Patch 14 is shaping up to release in September, bleeding into anniversary time
>Despite saying last week that Patch 14 will be a smaller patch and that July won't even get a community update

one thing for sure is that it will run even worse than SM2 regardless
>>
>>2689924
SM2 took 5 years and its barren when it came out

They can delay SM3 to like 2031-2032 instead of vatnik piecemeal updates

Just a thought.

Probably makes sense because we don't even fucking know what the updated Patch 15 looks like. The old Patch 15 was fucking barebones as shit so your point has even more validity that they had fucking NOTHING for the anniversary because Purgation + Terminator Sorcerer is basically the last significant PvE update they had planned according to both versions of the roadmap, barring stuff they haven't explicitly shared about Year 3.

It's retarded that Heavy's primaries don't work properly without being in heavy stance. Just put the stance perks on the class itself and have his weapons function like regular weapons. Too complicated for the gopnigs I guess

Nah, Techmarine stays busted on Absolute. Enemies don't get more health beyond Ruthless, only gunstrikes are reduced in damage. So in that sense, Ruthless and Absolute are the same. But yeah, there are a lot more enemies on Absolute, so the servo falls off a little bit because it can't always get everything.

Is the game known to have spotty netcode? I keep getting weird ping issues in this game that I don't get anywhere else. I'm not downloading anything and my ping is at around 50 most of the time. players should be able to summon sentinels (2-pack) as their own extremis unit
they can be destroyed just like any other extremis and guardsman and they're mobile enough to sprint all over the map
cost 600 gold for a 2-pack and 900 gold for a 3-pack; giving them armour upgrades cost another 500
they sit below the guardsmen and come with a heavy bolter, heavy flamer, plasma cannon, lascannon, autocannon and missile launcher variant
>>

This is so fucking stupid
If I beat it on harder difficulty, it should be completed on lower one as well

Also poor Scythes guy. Entire mission was easy, but at the end one of us died and me and Scythe of Emperor guy were left facing Carnifex. I jobbed, but Scythe guy carried and picked me up. He died soon after and I was left alone with Carnifex. Carnifex barely had any HP at this point anyway and dropped down somehow to that place from which Tyranid hordes arrive and which you can ignite and got bugged there doing nothing. At this moment Scythe guy panic left I think for whatever reason, I suspect wanted to save the mission and replace himself with a bot, but there was no point in doing so. I quickly used this opening to blow up Tyranids on Acherans orders and once Carnifex climbed back killed him easily.
Too bad that there is no option to reinvite guy you last played with quickly. What a dumb waste of time, I pity the guy, he sacrificed himself for no reason

New PvP map: Facility. Facility is one of the most compact PvP maps designed for fast-paced and intense combat. The map maximises opportunities for flanking attacks, rotations and outmaneuvering the enemy.

New Feature: Weekly Rewards for Participation in PvPEarn Accolades for participating in PvP on weekly basis.

New Feature: PvP Team Reshuffle. At the end of a PvP match players will be randomly reassigned to teams based on match results (experimental feature, will be turned on and off on backend).

This tells me they used the code from shield bash/rush, because that's exactly what happens after doing either. Have you tried interrupting the standing animation by pressing dodge or any movement key right after? If it gets interrupted, then I'm 100% sure the attack is a reskinned shield bash

The halo is cool, cape could have potential depending on the texture
>>
These are some dumb fucking changes. I mean, the Pyreblaster is good without the auspex, but there just wasn't a reason to nerf it. On top of that, it nerfs the new heroics that have a burn function (which was probably the reason why they implemented that change). It's this retarded philosophy of restricting damage that plagues so many games.
>>
>>2694032
I couldn't help myself, I looked at the ranged weapons
>stalker bolt rifle
it doesn't do the thing, the thing it says it does, it doesn't
>pyre carbine
do you want a carbine with horrible spread that has a gimmick secondary fire with almost no ammo? here it is, another combi weapon absolutely no one will use

And it will be all part of the anniversary september update most likely! Awesome. The pyre/auspex nerfs will defnitely go long way with the remaining players....
A question needs to be asked: have they lost what little mind they had?
>>
The raptor cape's a little dissapointing. Seems to just be a reskin of the ordeal/sniper prestige capes. No scarf. No battle damage. Not even a unique texture, like the salamander and ravenguard capes.
>>
>>2694256
True, it's very low effort. But wait till you get to Raptors jump pack.

>>
>>2694259
I mean, a more generic cape than the hyper specific salamander and ravenguard capes, that you can use out of the box without needing to touch absolute, is a welcome addition. It's just a shame we couldn't have gotten something more unique and fresh in the face of the current lineup of capes. The actual cape seems like it would be more appropriate being relegated to heroic store cosmetic fodder.
The raptor armor seems to be pretty asset flippy in general too.
>>
>>
>>2694277
It's horrific how they did nothing to make Raptors pack different in any way.

Sorry, it was meant to be ironic. It's obviously the same model as base jump pack. They didn't even bother to add different wear and tear. I honestly can't express what I feel rn.
>>
>>2694277
>>2694316
It's less than low effort, it's not even asset flip, it's the same fucking thing.

If it was up to me I'd have person who greenlit this demoted to a parking ticket inspector at best. They can't just release the same asset and call it something else.

Ffs...
>>
>tabards are tied to pvp kills
lmao at Saber, trying to get people to play shovelware mode
>>
>>2694343
Raps should've gotten a pack that wasn't the laziest asset flip I've ever seen, and everything in the actual pack should've been dumped on the heroic store.

Saber shafted raptorfags in the same patch they they're adding another salamander champion in to make up for shafting salafaggots. You can't make this shit up.
>>
Just had a go with the melta rifle, stalker and combi carbine heroics, they're all terrible! Stalker especially was a kick in the balls for me as it's my go-to for tac and is pretty much a straight downgrade in every field at the benefit of sometimes having an auspex that may or may not benefit from your damage perks for your teammates (certainly didn't look like it did).

>>2694349
Can't believe there's no camos, no new greens or browns, no new legs, no new arms and they have the nuts to call it a "cosmetic pack". Absolutely disgraceful.

Combi-Flamer = Salamanders Multi-Melta > Executioner's Axe >>> Deathwatch Fist >>> Shit >>> Salamanders Power Sword

I've ranked the CFlamer and MMelta much higher purely because these two weapons existing vastly improves Vanguard's gameplay. He needs good Heroics so damn bad.
>>

Heroic thunder hammer. Well it's cool I guess. It doesn't really have anything over the relic block hammer. The only interesting tidbit I have noticed is that the block stack can be proc'd on the first spin and will buff the 2nd and 3rd without using it. Also proc'ing it in general is weird. I have gotten it to trigger on a single enemy so it might just be counting how many times you do the attack instead of enemies in one swing.
>>
>>2695055
Oh and these were from full charge aftershocks.

Also disappointingly. With 2 block stacks the relic hammer can do and minimum charged aftershock to execute a tyranid warrior. The heroic can't.

Nobody plays Siege except for the weekly.
Priests are still fine for that purpose.
DR only takes effect from beyond wave 15.

Auspex not working on burn is primarily a debuff on Terminus and Extremis, but also on Majoris because of the parry auspex. It reduces Flamer damage across the board. There simply was no reason to do this; it's just another example of devs nerfing something in PvE because they're retarded cunts who hate fun.

Yeah, the Terminator Sorcerer is once again just confirming my belief that the devs don't understand this is a horde game. You can't put a fucking Elden Ring boss in a horde game and expect it to gel well in the slightest. Brother, we're not talking PTS here. They already do have capes. Currently on live servers that is.
Once those new ordeals drop all you need is increase in one or two matches for the count for each ordeal to kick in, find the correct address, edit it in the battle-barge and you're done.

Took the heroic Multi-Melta into Average since the damage is fubar'd to the lowest tier, and it feels really good when scaled properly. The long range beam is fat as fuck so you can spaff this into crowds and still do really well.

Between this and the Combi-Pyre, Vanguard went from a painful experience to finally feeling both fun and effective.

The thing about DLCs for instance, is that you'd have to go out of your way to show or prove you're working the system to use content you didn't pay for access to. As you said. Without looking at someone's purchase history it'd impossible to detect an unlocker unless it becomes deprecated due to server-sided checks ( I think Paradox's games have this). But even then it can be alleviated and you can continue having DLCs without actually owning them. But I went off on a tangent.

I believe there was some statement from them around sm2's release that went something long the lines: if there's no griefing or making player's life miserable in PvP matches they "wouldn't care".

What the fuck are you guys talking about Multi-Meltas on Vanguard? Multi-Melta is on Heavy. Vanguard has the Melta Rifle. It's a single Melta. Nothing multi about it. Sorry, but these are basics, brothers.

You can do some of the kills the old school way, edit the values. Then get back in and get a few kills. Broadly speaking of course.
>>
>>2696547
You'd have to close the game to disable the anticheat bypass to be able to connect to live servers. Once you close the game the memory address for that value changes. The value you changed it to isn't saved. The only way this is going to work is if someone does some cheat engine script fuckery to sort it all out in offline mode.
>>
>>2696558
After you edit them and quit the game they stay that way next time you load up as far as I remember. That's how it worked for most values up until now.
>>
>>2696558
They probably made it to fuck with people who pissed at their grand design to have everyone grind their asses to get the same shit for all classes. It'd check out since russkies have always been vindictive fucks towards their players.
Doesn't matter, you can't mix-match tabards and capes and with the former being the same assets anyway I can skip it altogether until a method comes up.

>>2696675
The core combat is the entire game. There's a campaign (which is spectacular but far too short to be worth the asking price), but the vast majority of the game exists in running (and re-running, and re-running...) the 13 missions currently released. They, combined with the weapons and cosmetics to unlock, are basically an excuse for you to keep hacking, slashing, and shooting aliens for just as long as your autism requires it. There's a certain kind of person who wants to chill out, queue for a mission, and chainsaw aliens after work and this game is for them. There's another kind of person who likes to yell at the first kind of person, and we're all in this thread.

So like, watch a youtube video of some gameplay and see if that looks fun. If your first thought is "ah! I'd love 300 hours of that," then this is the game for you.

The power sword is the most baffling. Everyone's first thoughts when they see it involve some sort of cool effect or burn application on a power whirl or something. And yet, they chose to skip every possible niche application and just make it a worse fencing power sword? How the fuck?
And then there's the power fist. They KNOW no one likes balanced, the weapon's KNOWN for how strong its charged attacks are, and yet it's a balanced light attack fart gun that rarely even squirts in the right direction in the first place.

I know the majority of the PvP discussion has been complaints that there's rewards tied to it now but in actual PvP-related news, I think they finally killed shocks.

>Blindness Radius reduced from 9 to 4 meters
>Blindness Duration reduced from 1.5 to 1.1 seconds

This is, what, the third nerf they've got since launch? These are big numbers swings. Blind radius has been more than halved, to the point where blind-chucking these around corners or through doorways is no longer an option. At this point you've got to basically peg the guy with the grenade if you want to blind him and, if you do, the duration has been reduced by almost 30%, down to just over a second. I think this may finally be the patch where I stop running shocks. That being said, it does seem kind of overkill--these aren't just nerfed, these are *way* nerfed, to the point where I don't see a use-case for them any more. Additionally, a nerf to grenades is essentially a nerf to Tactical, since his class ability is to hold twice as many grenades. I think this lowers his power level significantly. If this was the only change I'd say that puts Assault solidly on top, but they nerfed him too (smaller ground pound radius, longer recharge time, and a less forgiving cursor when aiming your ground pound). I'm not sure how bad that's going to feel in real matches but it's not nothing. Bulwark also ate a pretty big nerf (his shield now only takes 2/3rds as much damage as it used to before staggering him).

Vanguard got a pretty significant buff to how often he gets to use his grapnel launcher, but without the stun it once had it's still just a traversal ability and his main job will still be to climb up to a perch somewhere and force the other team to pay attention to him by firing at them. Despite a minor nerf to Heavy (kraks break his shield) he was largely untouched, as was Sniper, and I feel like they might be front-runners now. Sniper in particular was doing just fine and totally escaped the nerf bat.
>>
one day they'll release an autogun heroic, and on that day they will finally have to answer for their crimes
>>
if they fix and buff up the flamey sword I could see myself using it on bulwark to just fully turn my brain off and mash the melee button while occasionally parrying
that's basically already the playstyle with power axe except you have to do the power stance after every parry and your light attacks suck ass

it's a lot more fun if you're a casual to the game than if you're an actually good player like most people that use this gen. ironically when i played this on substantial and below i had tons of fun when i was living out of an RV and using a miniPC+controller. now that i actually play on absolute with a proper setup the game's problems are greatly exacerbated, and the disregard the balancing team is showing the playerbase is starting to wain on many. like the other's said it's a decent buy on sale but again, if this wasn't a 40k IP it'd likely be dead in the water...

The thunderhammer feels like a worse version to the relic block hammer. The relic does more baseline damage but the heroic is glitchy and will sometimes give you the buff mid aftershock which will give it higher damage than the relic. However it always loses the super important breakpoint that the relic has which is 2 block stacks letting you use an uncharged aftershock to kill majoris.
>>
>add argent edge, heroic plasma pistol
>add shit heroics only good enough for skins
>>
The Heroic Melta rifle should be a long beam with lots of ammo just like the Neo-volkite pistol but does the same damage as a regular relic Melta rifle, the idea is that its a Majoris/Extremis/Terminus murder weapon now instead of Minoris shotgun laser

That grind is in reference to getting relic tier weapons, which in actuality is entirely trivial and about 5-6 runs on substantial difficulty most of the time. Relic weapons are what heroic weapons are a sidegrade to, Everything before that is quite literally just filler and will inevitably be disregarded. Yes, even by (you).
>>
>>2699099
we completed the grind ages before the first heroic even came out, but it's cool to know that newfags are getting enraged by the grind, I figured that would happen
>>
>>2699146
It's more like 10-15 on substantial starting from white weapons. The overall xp track between the tiers will also often end up being just short of like a couple of hundred XP, so you have to do another op before you can progress to the next tier because extra XP doesn't carry over. It's pretty gay, but yeah, it gets progressively easier the more weapons you have unlocked. You can easily complete Lethal mission with just a relic sidearm most of the time.
>>
>>2699137
You have no idea what's even being talked about.

Heroic variants of weapons all come with Relic-tier stats. Meaning you get a massive power boost for grinding as a new player even if the Heroic itself has a dogshit perk.

Imagine being a level 40+ PvP player

You've killed thousands of players during this period since PvP never had a XP boost event unlike Operations

The PTS removed all weapon unlock progression and you're now going to kill 800 more players to get...tabards lmao
>>
>>2697207

>>
>>2699417
That's a really good change. When I bought this game a week ago I immediately hated how weapon unlocks were, I wanted to try them all to see what I liked
>>
>>2699417
I was going to kill 800+ more players anyway, cause pvp is fun. Especially after they improve the shit out of it with more maps and team shuffling. I don't exactly agree that they should be locking stuff like this behind pvp, but I'm not personally worried about not being able to unlock them.
So quit coping, get good, and join the post patch 14 pvp codes, why don't you?
>>
Played multiplayer pvp for a few matches today and damn this game is boring. I cant imagine sinking so much time into this slugfest of a game for all those cosmetics. Kek
>>
>>2699458
Many of the later weapons aren't even as good as the long grind to unlock them implies.
Power axes are arguable downgrades from the chainsword you start with with certain classes. The bolt carbine's pretty much a straight downgrade from the instigator on vanguard, even though you unlock it like 25 levels later than the instigator.
>>
>>2699417
As a level 40+ PvP player removing gear progression and adding team shuffling are unambiguously good changes and I'm just happy I have cosmetics I can unlock in this mode now. It used to be that playing PvP was actively deciding to take a break from progression because all the unlocks were related to operations. Now when I hop into a multiplayer lobby I actually get stuff for it.

I remember when SM1 came out I played the campaign and then jumped into the PvP (SM1 was nothing but PvP at launch, although they did eventually add a horde mode). Loved it, 100%ed it, got the sequel, played nothing but PvP for a while. I only ever started playing operations because I wanted the sniper prestige cape and you literally could not get it in PvP, but I enjoy them well enough now. Maybe people will have a similar experience. If not, it's just tabards, I'm sure PvE players can deal with no tabards in the same way that PvP players have dealt with no battle-damaged helmet, bonding stud shoulder, tyrannic war pieces, prestige cosmetics, and capes. Either way I'm happy the mode is finally getting a little bit of love.

>>

You don't. Even in the current (pre-nerf) game, heavies with energy weapons are the only guys who can consistently live through getting ganked by an assault. When I'm playing assault, the first time in a match that a heavy shotguns me with a melta or blows me up with a heavy plasma incinerator I just make a mental note not to ground-pound heavies for the rest of that game. Don't be afraid to take pot-shots at him to make him trigger his shield and turn around to pay attention to you, but you simply don't have a way to reliably 1v1 him. You've gotta rely on your team-mates to kill energy weapon heavies, or just swap classes if he's single-handedly raping the lobby or something and nobody's taking care of him.

I see. It sucks both the classes I like are getting nerfed I only like to use melee on bulwark and assault :(

Just an FYI for people looking forward to the Raptors Cosmetic Pack, there are goodies in other DLCs that would fit thematically and help expand your drip. If you have the pennies to spend.

>Salamander Sniper Champion
Pic related.

>Raven Guard Cosmetic Pack
Canonically the Raptors aren't opposed to using Raven Guard-themed insignias or mementos involving birds or feathers. Also the MkVI.

>Blood Angels Cosmetic Pack
Clean Primaris helm with right-eye scope.

>Imperial Fist Cosmetic Pack
Clean Primaris helm with left-eye scope and antenna.

>>
>>2699545
Okay, I'm going to spoonfeed you retarded fucking idiot here. In most cases, heroic is not best in slot. That only applies to a couple of heroics, and even then it's normally situational, down to preference, or just not significant enough to make it the only viable choice - hence, they're basically sidegrades. Like, the HBR is probably the most likely BIS example and the only place it's necessary and outshadows everything else is in hard siege, and even there you can comfortably get to wave 15 with other relic weapons. In many cases, a Relic weapon is the best choice.

Re: grind: First, you can't just immediately buy heroics. You need to grind the blue triangles for them. Doesn't take very long to get your first heroic, but still. Second, you still have to grind the respective weapons xp track out because you want the fucking perk points. They massively increase a weapon's power. Having the heroic version unlocked just makes this a bit easier because it has relic tier stats and so you can more easily complete higher difficulty missions for more xp. That is literally the only benefit they bestow on grinding - so instead of 10-15 substantial missions, maybe you can grind out the weapon track in 5-6 lethal missions. EXCEPT you also need armory data to unlock each weapon variety if you don't actually want to level the variety xp, so that's extra missions in the beginning! If you're just getting into the game though, you won't be able to do lethal anyway, you'll probably be having enough trouble with substantial until you get some hours in.

You cannot circumvent the grind with heroics, they just reduce it somewhat IF you are already decent at the game. But if you're already decent at the game, you can just go into Ruthless with white weapons and get carried for one game to then proceed with green weapons which are already decent enough so you're not a complete carry on Ruthless. For a good player, there's largely no difference.

You're an arrogant faggot.

There's no single in-universe explanation afaik. I honestly don't know what their plain with Primaris was. I originally assumed that it was just an in-universe way to explain them scaling up the miniatures and re-doing the proportions (40k models originally had what they called "heroic proportions", which were more cartoony than the tacticool current standard), but then they just sort of decided to ignore Chaos in the lore shakeup and now their models are bigger for no reason. I guess in the Era Indomitus, Chaos doesn't forget to drink their milk.

Recover your chp by trading, and dodging side to side will throw off their aim for a second.

If it's a nid warrior devourer, they shit out so much damage so rapidly that you might as well stop what you're doing to deal with them. Trading around them is suicide, at least on lethal or higher.

Grenades are nice. Frags will stunlock up to a whole group for a moment. Kraks delete one outright, and can delete others if they're within kissing distance of the krak explosion. The rest of the nade types either don't do as well in these situations, or they're best saved for other situations.

It kinda makes sense. They were already space marines, they fuse with the warp or get boons from their patron and become bigger through evil (but not gay) magic
>>
>>2700115
If you start getting melee'd, don't have the hp to outtrade them, and start parrying them instead, you're typically fucked. You can try to shoot them in between parries, but the window is extremely tiny if you intend on landing the next parry, so you either have to sit there and land like 20 parries in a row while shooting them as much as possible, kinda like Anon did, or be lucky enough for a teammate to come save you.

Only noobs really bother with spamming melee for that long though. Most people with experience will give up after a couple parries and switch to a firearm to finish you off.
Thankfully for Anon, that assault was a scrub that wouldn't give up. Plus that jump pack maneuver Anon pulled let him get off a nice chunk of damage so he didn't have to parry+shoot+parry+shoot too much more after.

>>2701233

>>
>>2701221
Most of the game is kino. The campaign is well designed, the graphics are great, the visual design in general is top notch, the sound isn't quite punchy enough but the basic design is good, the dialogue is fitting, it mostly does justice to lore, animations are great. They did a good job with the Nids overall, though there are issues there as well, like the Biovore. They obviously have a lot of competent people at Saber.

HOWEVER, someone there in the gameplay/balancing department is a complete fucking idiot or asshole or both and has too much influence. At this point, they absolutely must know that most players actively avoid chaos ops and hate all the chaos enemies they've added - e.g. Chaos Spawns, Tzaangor Enlightened, and the Mutalith boss. None of these were received well. Chaos was already an annoying faction with the teleporting and the rocket terminators, and together with the later additions, and now the Terminator Sorc in the same vein, the faction just exemplifies a style of enemy design that is fundamentally at odds with what you want in a horde shooter - most of them are better suited to a Soulslike, where enemies are typically encountered in smaller numbers and therefore more dangerous individually, with feints and more complex patterns because you have the time to pay attention to them and don't have to manage 50 other enemies at the same time. And yet, we're still getting more of that.

The damage sponge design philosophy is another issue, but that probably has to do with engine limitations to some extent.
>>

>>
>>2701492
So am I (at least the early ones, ER also got ridiculous with the attack patterns), but on the highest difficulties, fighting these enemies is just not a good experience because it's in conflict with what the rest of the game wants from you. At least the Mutalith you fight 1v1. I'm just not a fan of introducing enemies that don't really fit the rest of the game - same reason why I didn't like the Demon of Hatred in Sekiro. That was more of a rollslop than a parryslop boss. Buuuut then again, in Sekiro you can just try him again and again without much downtime. In SM2, if you fail the Mutalith, you have to do the entire fucking op again. Another reason why soulslike enemies don't really fit the game.

What about nids, do you enjoy those in SM2?
>>
>>2701010
>the most recent enemy they made was the terminator sorcerer and he seems to have been made by someone who genuinely hates everyone who plays this game
I mean, there are so many faggots on discord, youtube and steam praising shitty game mechanics and balancing, faggots who never skip on a chance to tell anyone they can that the game is too EZ for them, that if I was a dev, I'd fuck with them real hard too
>>
>>2701545
I spent some time on the discord and reddit because I keep reading how disgustingly sycophanting they are here, and I honestly can't confirm it. There was ample backlash over the pts patch notes. LTG also put out a video criticizing the changes and openly discussing the fact that a lot of people don't like chaos. Of course there are always people who will be contrarians, but if a dev listens to them when most of the voices say something else, that's a choice.
>>
>>2701545
I can attest to the discord being an aids circus.

If you complain about anything on the discord, you get picked apart by tasteless, unwitting, masochists that act like they can solo push +30 hard siege with their eyes closed. They act like every issue you could possibly have with the combat can be attributed to a lack of skill, and thus solved by practicing in the shitty new training mode.

They don't know what they're talking about, but will pretend they do, like how they told me I was exaggerating when I told them more than three extremis can spawn in siege. So they don't play siege.
I've also been accused of trolling for saying I like to play on absolute. Like it isn't baby shit in the face of hard strats.

tl;dr: The discord thinks they're superior to us because they act like they've solved the game to the point of rendering enemy balance complaints irrelevant, yet frequently out themselves as either scrubs, retards, or both.

As someone who got into the game a couple of weeks ago (250 hours), I do think it can often be a significant step up from Lethal. I can carry comfortably on Lethal most of the time. On Absolute, it's a lot more varied. The triple Extremis during a Terminus can really fuck your shit up, esp. if there are packs from before the Terminus and your teammate idiots bringing the Termi down to half health quickly. When shit hits the fan on Lethal, I can get ous out of it 9 times out of 10, when it does on Lute, maybe 6 out of 10. Something like a triple Biovore spawn will usually fuck my shit up most of the time. Most of the players here have like 1k hours in the game, so they're naturally better. Still, dont be afraid of it, also post codes here and people will gladly play Lutes with you even if you're new.

I mean, they aren't easy, that's why I like playing them. They just aren't that bad compared to hard strats, since hard strats are literally a difficulty notch higher than absolutes, on top of having modifiers that can give enemies massive buffs and give you massive nerfs.

idk maybe this is a hot take but I kinda think Heroic weapons, unique one of a kind weapons that require you to spend blue doritos, should maybe be an upgrade from generic relic weapons
Like, you know, Guilliman's own Chainsword should maybe be a little more powerful than "Gathalamor Crusade"
>>
>>2703773
The devs act like the average person, who only plays up to Substantial, don't already queue up for Hard Stratagems to expedite the Accolades process thinking these heroics are strict upgrades.
Even if they did realize that people are treating it this way, they won't make them strictly better and keep them as sidegrades.
>>
>>2703773
>>2703778
Games Workshop should intervene and take Space Marine 3 away from these vatniks and give them to either the Total War devs or the DoW4 devs.
>>
>>2703778
I mean I'd be open to making it HARDER to get Heroics, like you have to master every single weapon variant and fully unlock the perk tree. Maybe even you need to use the Legendary weapon and complete a (or a series of) relatively difficult challenge like "Use this weapon to kill 3 Terminus-level enemies" or Kill X enemies in Y amount of time or whatever
But in exchange heroics should be a straight upgrade, you put in actual effort to EARN them instead of just grinding accolades and then your heroic is the payoff.
>>

I feel like it would be so easy to make them more fun to fight. If you are engaged in melee distance with a tson of any kind they should never ever shoot you and the teleport needs to have some kind of wind and can be staggered out of. Then allow enemies in melee to get friendly fired so you can use them as cover while fighting in melee and moving up pod to pod.

Also finally implementing the fucking melee chp rework holy fuck.
>>
Apparently the Salamander sword is bugged on PTS and you need to actually swap into it from a drop pod to get it to actually have its heroic perk work.
Once again, the tool tip is also misleading. It basically functions like a block attack but for each perfect parry, you will empower the attack AFTER your light attack, and you get to have up to 5 counts for this effect.
So essentially you're super-charging either your power rake or whirl.
>>
>>2705531
>It basically functions like a block attack but for each perfect parry, you will empower the attack AFTER your light attack, and you get to have up to 5 counts for this effect.
that's much better than the description though, hope they will keep it that way
>>
>>2705441

The only way I see meaningful change is if chp fade is paused or reset while in a melee flow state of attack strings, dodging and parrying successfully. That would be on top of increasing how much is restored on hit based on attack type. Melee is just too slow and gets interrupted by dodging and parrying constantly for the system they have now. Swinging raw with your fast lights does piss damage without counter multipliers up, and contested hp is already gone by the time you wind up a heavy attack because you got staggered or knocked over after taking the damage anyway.
>>
>>2705409
The individual heraldry one looks like a unicursal hexagram, and the only other legions that use sigils are Salamanders, Thousand Sons, and Word Bearers, but the latter two use it more as a script compared to the former.

It's a Souls boss. This isn't a Souls game. The game is missing the mechanics that make Souls games fun for those who enjoy them. The only thing that Vortex Beast gets right is that you fight it alone in the op. But paradoxically, that shouldn't even be necessary because a horde game should have bosses that are compatible with hordes being there. It's only because it's a souls boss that adds would make it even worse. The new Terminator Sorc doesn't even get that right.

As far as I know, the color should be Bad Moon yellow, but Imperial Fists yellow also works. I'm just going to assume that a lot of their heraldry is close to the Iron Warriors, and maybe they like to tell everyone that their primarch is Rogal Dorn even though everyone knows it's Perturabo.

They patched it a long time ago so you can't have randoms join you if you have mods, and since most of us here seem to play with randoms most of the time, I guess they stopped bothering with mods.
I am pretty sure you can hook up mods and still play with other people, as long as they join you through a code. Idk if they count those towards progression though, cause that could be another factor. Many people stop playing when they don't have anything tangible left to work towards.
>>2706252
I personally played exactly one inferno with a couple anons from here where the host had mods on from what I could tell.
iirc, he increased enemy spawn rates, added imperial guard, and buffed bolters and stuff. This was something like 12 patches ago now, so this was long before you had stratagems, let alone custom stratagems you could modify to replicate those sorts of mods. And I was and still am on console unfortunately, so any mods that affected me personally, like anything to do with the stats on my gear or marine at all, wouldn't work. So my weapons did the same old shitty amount of damage.
Still a very cool experience though.

I'm looking forward to them adding mod support on console. Maybe once they finish implementing that, it'll make it worth it for anons to post modded codes again. Hopefully they don't restrict your matchmaking, or at least don't restrict it too much. I'd like to fuck around with things like the terminator class and all the extra cosmetics from astartes and still be able to join lobbies.
>>
>>2706239
It's better by way of actually feeling like you're able to kill shit and feel like a real Space Marine, and any weapon in SM2 is marginally outclassed by their SM1 predecessors. I don't really listen to or give a damn about some of the retards in the earlier or current threads who claim the entire opposite, the gameplay in SM1 is just outright better.

I couldn't disagree more, all weapons should be sidegrades only

They should remove progression system in anything gameplay related completely. It can stay for an inconsequential shit like cosmetics only. Same in Darktide/Vermintide
This is an action game and not an RPG, all making powercreeped weapons (or perks and levels) does is trivializing combat, which then in turn requires higher difficulty options to be made, splitting playerbase further and making it more cancerous to level up character when you are just starting. Leveling isn't the point here and it's fun. It's a chore you have to do, you have to slog through, until you are allowed to have fun at a proper difficulty which will test your skill, and not your character's one like in RPG
Same reason why Prestige was a retarded faggotry which shouldn't exist.

>>
what am i supposed to do with assault in pvp? the thunder hammer has no range and always gets parried
>>
>>2707347
Your main job is to use your jump pack to take the shortcuts available on most maps in order to find people running from spawn and rape them in a 1v1. 1v1s against anything but a heavy with energy weapons (or other assaults) are basically gimmes. Ground pound them twice. If you can't do that, then ground pound them once and then do a light (or running light if they roll/if you whiffed the ground pound) with the hammer, followed by a charged heavy. It's enough damage to kill every class, heavy attacks cannot be blocked (even by bulwarks), and rolling does not give enough distance to escape it. It's guaranteed death. You should basically never lose a fight that starts with you ground pounding somebody.

If you get an opportunity while on your way to their side of the map, take pot shots at enemies. This is mostly just to remind them "hey, you need to be looking up," and split their attention between you and your team, who should have an easier time killing someone who's worried about getting goomba stomped. Not uncommonly though, you'll be passing by someone engaged in a firefight with one of your team-mates and you'll just pistol them to death along with your buddy. That's fine too. Your ground pound is your bread and butter but there's no reason to pass up ranged kills.

Big-picture, the way you contribute to your team is by killing respawners and forcing the other team to pay attention to the sky. If you can make them paranoid, that takes pressure off your team. The experience of fighting against a team that has 0 assaults and a team that has 1 assault is night and day. Vanguard does this too, although he mostly grapples up to one of the Designated Vangaurd Areas and fires into teamfights. Same general idea though: the mere fact that you're on the team forces the bad guys to constantly look up unless they want to die.
>>

and to counter feet frag grenades?
>>
They need to bring Orks back in SM2, I don't know how we're like 2 years in without Orks?
>>
>>2707435
I've never really noticed frags to have any kind of an impact to be honest. I've never been knocked out of an animation by one while I'm ganking somebody as far as I can remember, and I can't recall ever dying to one either. To clarify, I die to grenades all the time in other situations, but I've never been bothered by frags if I'm just ambushing a guy with a ground pound. Kraks will kill you if they stick you, but the other guy dies too.

It's really just kraks or heavies with a charged plasma incinerator or melta gun that account for my 1v1 deaths as an assault. I still die in plenty of other situations, like during map traversal or if I get sucked into a team fight, but specifically if I'm ground pounding a guy in a 1v1 the only time I really die is in those two situations. Maybe I'm just lucky to have never encountered the frag grenade meta or something.

Orks or Necrons would be interesting (although I'm not sure Necrons have proper Minoris fodder?) and break up monotony a bit, even if they are a huge investment of dev resources
If the dev team was large enough and enough money was invested my ideal would be something like Orks + 5 new missions(/maps) for them, but I do understand how much time that would take to develop and how a year~ of literally no content would probably not please a lot of people playing
>>
>>2707564
I don't think they ever had plans to add orks. In fact, they admit they never thought the game would be this successful.

No lol.
More broadly, the thing is on the two melee guys with a niche that amounts to "Is slightly higher DPS than hitting them with a melee weapon." And that's if you can tame the fucking thing's accuracy. It wants to be the Autocarbine but just plain isn't and the only melee I could possibly justify it on is Power Fist since that thing outranges it. The more damning thing is the ammo. It takes damn near a full mag to kill a single majoris and you only get around nine of those. What's worse is that the regular bolt pistol tends to outshine it even.

your weapon doesnt really matter since about 70% of your damage is from blocking and procing the aoe damage perk. power fist is probably the best because you can set up big charged attacks. you can use what ever you want, even thunder hammer. chainsword can be pretty fun, it benefits the most from attack speed because its animations are so short, so fencing, balanced, and the block heroic feel good. it can be a bit boring though all you do is should bash and occasionally stomp

Think like a Night Lord. If you see what would be a fair fight, avoid it. Learn shortcuts and vantage points. Use your mobility to flank enemies and ambush them when they don't see you. Ground Pound them when they don't see you and ideally are engaging your allies and so are focused on them. Jump Pack mobility even lets you escape and run away easily

I don't think Eldar would make for a good enemies here, they are also Elite and use trickery and magic, would be annoying to fight most likely. Them being 3rd playable faction would be better, especially since this combat system feels like you are playing as Eldar already kek

In SM3 I can see:
>Orks
since they are current edition main enemies and in a starter set even
>Necrons
Artifact SM1 and SM2 are about is clearly of Necron origin and Necrons were hinted at strongly already with Demerium and now were enemies in 500 Worlds too
>Death Guard
Because they attacked Ultramar and should be there
>Nids/Tsons
I hope they won't be retarded and will port all possible content from SM2 anyway. Leaving them behind in a dead game would be wasteful.

Hello sm2gen, I thinking of playing this game as I have access to it with family share, but was wondering how cucked is the ingame community for this game? I played darktide for a little while and oh my lord, there are SO many trannies I got matched with who'd just say the weirdest shit in the mic/chat that it killed my desire to play, and was wondering if this game is safe from such revolting behaviour
>Aka if i play black templar is some turbo faggot gonna start crying on the mic that I'm literally Hitler for playing it
>Or will I run into 2 homos ERPing in VOIP frequently
Sry for the retarded question, but I just have insane faggot fatigue from other warhammer games, I rly don't wanna subject myself to this after putting in like 50 hours into the game. Cheers
>>
>>
>>2709671
I've rarely ever heard anybody on mic outside of pvp.
If they use their mic, they're usually casual ass gamer dad sounding gentlemen that either leave their mics on while talking to their wives, or they do call outs.
There's a text chat on pc, so I think most people just use that.
>>
>>2709671
you prob won't encounter any of of those people no since this game is mostly filled with normies and boomer dad types

No. When you play in euro timezone 90% of players with cyryllic usernames sport black templars.

>Or will I run into 2 homos ERPing in VOIP frequently
never happened to me in 900 hours. We've had one guy itt who boasted about erping with a "female" player ingame but that's it.

You are free to disable text and/or voicechat, there's actually zero need for communication in the game. When you have to explain something to another person means they are already a deadweight and wouldn't listen to you anyway.

>>
i dont think the white scar chain sword is worth it. it either needs 2 extra damage, or needs to be faster. for assault i like balanced the best, and for bulwark fencing is just fine.
>>
>>2710511
>it either needs 2 extra damage
It already deals the highest damage of any melee weapon when it has 3 stacks?
>>
>>2710440
No point to it since Heavy bleeds ammo outside of the heavy bolter and Techmarine doesn't even have ammo restoration at all
>>
>>2710554
Assault has no ammo regen perks of any kind, is primarily a melee class, and not only gets access to the Raptors chest, but the best version of it.

Bulwark also gets the chest, and is primarily a melee class, even if he does have a ranged regen perk.

I don't know why you were trying to bring gameplay mechanics into drip.
>>
>>2710531
you wont have stacks 98% of the time. i just watched a replay i've gone several minutes of pure fighting without a single enemy meleeing me. most enemies get perma staggered then die or are attacking your allies instead, the only time block is good is vs fast combos like raveners, but even then its just a bit a fun and you can easily kill them with fencing or balanced
>>
>>2710574
>you wont have stacks 98% of the time
Skill issue.
>>
>Raptors cosmetic pack
>the one chance they can actually add digital camo shit, hoods, capes, pouches, holsters and other tacticool shit
>you only get two cloth covered pauldrons and one chest piece with pouches
Raptors change their armour colours too depending on the terrain they'll fight in so there's desert tan/khaki in deserts, different shades of green in jungles and forests, arctic white in snow, black/dark blue for night operations, red/brown if Forge World, generic camo grey in urban areas, etc.
>>
>>2710610

>>2710659
Playing defensively and being rewarded with a massive burst of damage when you do finally swing is far safer and more effective than slapping a limp dick across enemy faces and forcing them to constantly aggro you.
>>
>>2710696
except you are slapping a limp dick with the block sword in every situation except when you happen to be alone with three bonesword warriors (which you shouldnt even need any extra advantages to deal with). in every other case, in situations that actually matter, you are better off with fencing or balanced.

the regular bolt pistol is accurate on hip fire and has the 50% headshot damage on execute. but they are pretty comparable otherwise
>>
>>2710758
In absolutely no scenarios are you better off with Balanced. The naming convention pretty much means the worst of both worlds.

>Don't get the defensive window of Fencing
>Don't get the damage of Block
>Instead get a fubar'd defense window that's unironically worse than Block, not as long as Fencing, and some jagoff bonus to cleave
>>
>>2710771
by the time you have gotten your three stacks i have already killed all of them and moved on to dealing with actual threats. gaunts dont even attack you unless you are attacking them first so its pointless to try to farm stacks, which is what i was talking about from the beginning, you hardly ever get meleed at all in this game so its not good to rely on hoping an enemy will attack you
>>
>>2710659
yes, it is simple math, the issue is you are not very good at it.
>provoke three attacks by dodging or shooting for 0.5 second
>get your stacks
>deal 300 damage in 2 seconds
vs
>attack for the whole 7 seconds with a parrying stick
>deal 15 damage
vs
>attack for a whole 7 seconds with a balanced weapon
>get permastaggered and die by overlapping enemy attacks you provoked
>>
>>2710797
>by the time you have gotten your three stacks i have already killed all of them
You have not killed a single Majoris in melee combat with a fencing weapon by the time I get three stacks, get real. It takes the fencing Chainsword like four shoulder bash loops to kill one fucking majoris.
>>
>>2710783
balance deals way more damage than block or fencing and assault does not need to parry since he is incentivized to jet pack dodge for the damage boost. for bulwark the balanced parry window is pretty bad. for other classes your melee weapon doesnt even matter

its true. block used to be good but then they changed it to be the "slow weapon" making it garbage, especially for chainsword since attack speed determines the cooldown between attacks. block axe is still good for example. now the heroic bloc has decent speed but fencing damage still making it crap. block is now just a placebo and balanced became the best option for most weapons. people still think block is good because it USED to be good.
>>

They are bigger idiots for introducing the entire 3-type-of-block options for melee. It should've been fencing and block or just go with skills for every weapon that you build into a specific stat.

Was mostly just looking for something that would fit a melee tactical build better since fencing variants feels like they hit like wet noodle and are too reliant on gunstrikes for damage. Played a bit against 4 absolute meatballs with ardent edge for practice, it is not bad but it didn't feel the same when I practiced earlier with a proper block weapon on the same setup.
>>
>>2713391
When did ignoring idiots in video games become the "extreme" thing to do? Since the beginning of vidya, we've had assholes in chat. We're on 4chan where this was elevated to a art. Block and move on if it bothers you this much. Quitting a game over it and hinging your decision to start another over whether you won't see people being fags in chat is unequivocally something that fits the sort of thinking that makes society insufferable. Again, fag fatigue is fine, but removing yourself from a space that allows you to silence fags is just idiotic.

It's not. But considering you're seething and now having multiple posts talking about totally not caring+ignoring something and moving on (while crying about a day's old post) is quite ironic

C'mon Anon surely you want daily info about things happening In Space Marine 2, right? The game we're all playing and enjoying? Where there may be bugs but it's not aaaall bad and you can enjoy something if you like it in Space Marine 2. There's nothing wrong with enjoying something low tier but really Bulwark is him In Space Marine 2.

Yeah, I'm fucking tired of sloptube too, mostly because it's drowning out the spreadsheeters looking at the actual numbers and coming up with use cases. I wouldn't mind FTG half as much as I do if he went into gameplay breakdowns with his solo runs to at least try and explain himself instead of rattling off a bunch of shit then going into the one successful solo absolute he no doubt grinded for for content. To say nothing of the daily content farming that very very frequently doubles back on opinions.
>>
im starting to like wings of flame now instead of the 10% cd on jump pack kill. you dont have the freedom where you can literally jump pack anywhere 5+ minoris are, but the wings of flame damage is equivalent to bulwark's damage on parry. plus it allows you to dodge so easily, like you can dodge into a charging carnifex for 20 meters away and get your dodge
>>
>>2713544
Yeah I've heard folks really liking Wings of Flame for Ops. Never used it myself yet but maybe it'll make Assault feel less.ass.to play when you run out of charges. Does it actually make the perfecf dodge window better?
>>
>>2713413

>>
>>2713581
AI is ok as a tool, just like we used google as a tool for years. The problem is retards using it like retards, slop faggots with no standards, and corporate overlords slopping everything for profit.
>>
>>2713555
>Does it actually make the perfecf dodge window better?
Yes the entire movement is considered a dodge. You can often dodge into groups of enemies and dodge stray melee attacks. But the playstyle forces you to manage your charges better instead of just having fun killing things.
>>
>>2713394
Yeah, and it's fine. Unlike balanced which requires you to fuck up your muscle memory on both fencing and block.
>>
>>2710820
>>2710872
There's a perk that makes all jetpack dashes perfect dodges even against red attacks. Which reduces the game from
>Red=barrel roll and pray, blue = press C
To
>Red=press q, blue = press C
Much much easier. Combine it with wings of fire and now you can ram yourself into the guy attacking you to do damage and get a gun strike from it.

Only real problem is keeping jetpack charges, there are ways to replenish them faster, but if you manage to find yourself out you'll be in big trouble.
When I get home I'll post my sanguineous build to give you an idea
>>
>>2713299
hell yeah brother
>>
>>2713605
What Wings of Flame specifies as perfect dodges is just a bizarre clarification.

>Jump pack dodge deals damage when perfect dodging an attack
>But also just using a jump pack dodge counts as a perfect dodge, so the damage activates

It's why even when you fubar a dodge and don't get the slowdown, it still deals AOE damage to everything around you.
>>
>>2713670
Someone with more Assault xp correct me on this, that's what I got in my limited time with the class:

You usually take WoF with Commitment so you get the charge back. BUT it only counts as a perfect dodge if you dodge an attack in the right way. It doesn't always proc when you dodge an attack. AND there is a secret cooldown on Commitment, so if you do the perfect jump pack dodge twice you'll only regain it on the first instance, not on the second.
>>
>>2713605
>>2713670
here you go
>>
>>2713680
No Matrix slo-mo = Not perfect (Irrelevant to Wings of Flame itself)

Not perfect = Commitment no activate

This is why you take Strong Strikes as a backup, so a jump dodge attack can refund you.

Yep, assault just has way too many bugs and no regen.
>>
>>2713680
there is no cool down for commitment and for it to count as a perfect dodge, the attack needs to hit your hitbox during your invincibility frames. with wings of flame this counts for the entire dodge, but without it it only counts the beginning or your animation. its way easier to trigger it if you dodge directly into a majoris that is attacking you

I mean, I'd block people that ran cancer in armored core 6 lobbies all the time. Every time I dove into another sesh, I added like at least 7 people to the list.
Eventually, I'd be waiting for hours to gather enough people to start a match, because I basically blocked the whole community, because everything I hated became meta shit that everybody (ab)used.

Eventually, I only played with a group of friends I thought I was on the same page with, dedicated to playing it every day. Until half of them randomly counter picked me with cancer, and then coordinated together to gank me an entire seven minute match. Right after just helping them balance a bunch of their matches by throwing them, because my team kept ending up too strong.

After that, I quit armored core.

It sounds like his experiences with absolute fucking faggots were less common and less game breaking than mine, but everyone has different levels of tolerance for playing with people that shit up your game in one way or another. Maybe he puts a lot of stock in immersion, and these people pull him out of it with their "uwu x3" shit every single one of his seshes.
I can see that adding up to becoming frustrating enough to become a valid reason to quit said game.
>>
>>2713863
I mean, yeah, we all have different thresholds. I've been very, very easy to frustrate the past two weeks and blocked so many people on SM2. Mostly Playstation fags who were on open mic (not communicating, just their whole house on speaker) and people who run anything but the nade perk on Tac. Yeah, I can be a spiteful cunt too, but honestly, we're kinda pathetic for it, aren't we?

People can be so shit, but it's the mark of a true man to be able to tolerate that and stand above it.
>>
>>2713877
Well, when it comes to the point where you're looking to get a certain experience out of a game, and a group of people the game is forcing you to play with keep keeping you from that experience, I don't think duty really comes into it.

It gets to a point with some of these games where they literally begin to become unplayable if the people you're playing with or against are shitty enough.
It gets to a point where they literally aren't worth "playing" anymore, because they're multiplayer games that are reliant on other people, and most of those people suck fuckin' dick, on top of there being no specific search function to filter them out with, other than codes you need to clunkily post and pray on third party messaging software like this or pissscord.
>>
>>2713901
Yes, I think we agree there is a point where it ceases to be resilience and becomes subservience and self-denial. But to take my own example, blocking tacs who don't take the nade perk is not a rule anyone should follow. It's not a fault serious enough to warrant blocking. It's egotism do to so. And we must always ask ourselves whether the reasons why we get frustrated are legitimate and adequate. Because ultimately, we are denying ourselves joy by isolating (= blocking others) ourselves. Sometimes that's legitimate, but we should always evaluate properly. Else, we just give in to the heresy that is rage.

Does the little pistol counter / execute damage change determining on which side arm you're using?

It does, not sure if picrel is up to date but it should give you the general idea. Remember that plasma pistol trumps HBP because it damages all enemies around the target.

>>

Horseshit, techpriests are most important early on unless you go for waves past 15. Honestly, anyone who just plays for the doritos won't notice the difference.
>>
>>2713949
Randoms already don't buy the Techpriest unless you scream at the mic on them, much less properly killing enemies so they don't wander off and kill one during the early waves.

They ubernerfed the Techpriest resource generation so that even wave 15 players will only have barely enough to deal with a Vortex Beast or Terminator sorcerer.

Can't mass buy ammo boxes anymore for grenade launcherbros, Deep Pockets will be removed by next patch.
>>
>>2713877
I just block anyone who's total dogshit, eventually I'll filter out enough of the chaff to get matched into lobbies with half decent players

Is the Neo-Volkite pistol even any good? I've seen it used a few times but the discourse usually comes down to Heavy Bolt vs Plasma from what I've seen
>>
>>2713979
Anon, it's genuinely unnecessary to buy tech priests to finish wave 15 on Hard. Just play Tech, buy turrets and have the AoE servo.
>>
>>2713993
Great for bosses. Most weapons in the game are fine, Plasma and Heavy Bolt are just the top choices.
>>
>>2713993
it has its niche, its nice for melting terminus and isn't terrible against majoris but the dreams of getting big chain explosions will happen maybe once every 3 ops and its far slower at thinning minoris swarms
Heavy pistol is liked for having great damage, both gunstrikes and its entire ammo reserve, while plasma gets you instant stagger on demand which can be life saving at times so they just have better all around usage
>>
>>2713992
>>2713877
This is why Space Marine 2 and even 3 needs an ELO rating, level/prestige filter for Operations/Stratagems, Siege and PVP

ELO rating tracks how many Absolute/hardest difficulty/hard stratagem victories in total per class, how many times you quit/disconnected and how many times you've beaten said hardest difficulty games without dying and even the number of times you've beat it on your first try

For siege it tracks how many hard siege waves you've completed, your average maximum point score as well as your average ranged and melee score penalized on the number of incapacitations and deaths

PVP is easy, just count how many kills and assists you have per deaths

Have it churn a number and you can now see which people are absolute shitters, normal teammates and godmode players
>>
>>2714006
That's a great suggestion! Anyway, here's a new game mode to partition the playerbase even further: ....
>>
>>2714006
I don't really want actual stats and having to obsess over my performance each op, I'd rather just have some form of soft skill gating that keeps shitters down in the lower difficulties like how you have to clear lethal to unlock absolute (although I guess you still have the problem of people getting carried by 2 good players in a Lethal lobby to unlock Absolute)
>>
>>2714006
It's funny because my sober, anal self would agree with you but my drunk, relaxed self thinks you just need to not be such an autist. Nine times out of ten, it doesn't matter that the randoms in lutes are shit. It's just the tenth time that it fails because of them. But a system like you suggest would result in drastically worse queuing times and just make the game more shit overall. We're our own worst enemies, Anon.

Just have a level and prestige filter in the options, turned off by default.

>level filter
1-25
>prestige filter
0 (no prestige) - 4

Have it come with a warning screen that turning it on and tuning it may prolong lobby joining, with a hold Enter key for 5 seconds to activate it.
>>
>>2714041
>>2714047
Anons, seek not failure in others, eradicate it in yourself first.
>>
>>2714047
I actually don't even mind if the run is a little scuffed I just don't want people who ragequit instantly or are so bad I'm trying to solo 3 minutes into the match before getting gangbanged and sent to the mission failed screen
as long as we clear, it's good
I guess if I had an ELO filtering system I'd want it to apply negative penalties to anyone who dies first and then leaves the lobby, and maybe to people who die quickly and then the mission fails. Successful operations on that difficulty would then sorta reset your ELO, maybe not fully but 1 win = 2 losses or something
People who are really bad and don't belong in lethal/absolute would probably lose more often than win and eventually end up dragged down to the hellish underhive where they're forced to play on low difficulty until they work off their penalty and hopefully get better at the game
>>
>>2714138
I leave when I'm playing like shit because a bot is better than me at that point. Do you really want to have to get me up every wave?
>>
>>2714151
Sorta, my ideal would be you play on a lower difficulty if you're not going to lock in
But I'd also have the penalty be a bit less harsh if you at least TRIED to play the match before leaving cause I've had guys leave as soon as we enter combat with the first wave of trash like why did you even queue up bro
>>
level and prestige filters will ensure every guy who's on 200+ hours will set it to max ensuring only a handful will be around to carry newbs and shitters around
as these newbs and noobs hit max level and prestige they too will set their filters to max but at least they won't bother veterans while they're grinding and leveling up
they should let those green, purple and gold data to be exchanged into maxing out a weapon's experience, even if they take 2-4 per tier; like grey to green eats up 2 green data, green to purple eats up 3 purple data and purple to gold eats up 4 gold data and maxing out gold eats 2 more gold data
>>
>>2714159
I see, so you're more complaining about people not even trying. Yeah, I try to always do my best when I go into Lutes, but I recently started practicing Assault and I was doing fine on Lethal. Then I queued Lutes and I just completely failed, so I quit out so someone more competent could hopefully join in my stead.
