Otherwise beg for an invite or buy a founder's pack or watch their devstreams for a Twitch Drop that gives you permanent access after viewing for 30 minutes.>What's the monetization like?Similar to Warframe's (good)>Is it fun?I have close to 500 hours in it already.>What is Preludes? Soulframe is currently in alpha, with the testing phase called Preludes. We're currently on Preludes 15 which means 15 major content releases since 2023. The nice thing is that your progression carries over permanently, there are no account wipes. If the developers rebalance or change systems, they compensate players similarly to how they handle major changes in Warframe. >Guild? No guild system yet. Probably by end of year.>Why should I play this? It's free2play, and overall, it's a game that does a great job of respecting both your time and your money.
I posted the link to this thread in Warframe's general which may have been a bad idea because they're still a little butthurt that a portion of Tennocon was spent on their 'sister game'. Unfortunate. Both games are really good and complement each other!
Game feels very dynamic and all the systems flow pretty naturally so it doesn't feel gamey but movement still needs refining and ranged combat is really boring compared to melee
unironically this game lacks soulthe trailer looked nice and I signed up for the alphawhen I got in months later i played it for like 10 hours and dropped it
Is there any stealth in this? Also is the Ranged class (not mage) suited for solo players?
The biggest problem with this game in my opinion is the combat looks really bad. The animations are very stiff and don't flow together well. Also if you notice there's no real feedback when you hit or shoot something. The enemy don't really flinch or anything. They could really use a lock-on system.
Soulframe is lookin good
>>2721597Sirin is the stealth class that casts a self cloak, backstab with the tip of your arrow, shift backwards and start hailing down volleys of arrows, or just do melee stealth. It's not Thief or Dishonored or anything but you can start encounters with stealth.
>>2714283I like gaem, I boughted foundersjew camel song is funhttps://youtu.be/nLfRKgeEOBs
>>2733693Enjoy anon. I just hit MR18 and upgraded everything I enjoy to the legendary equipment tier. Gonna logout until they refine P15 a bit more.
Soulframe gives me the feeling the game is stingy with how you unlock new gear. I'm 7 hours in and all I've managed to unlock is the hat Orlick wears.I was trying not to use a wiki and go in blind but I have no idea how to get fragments, do i replay fables to get them? I've just beat the bear.
>>2741333you have to target farm certain bosses/events/bounties to get some armors or weapons, they recently changed the way weapons drop as well.
as a warframe player is there any reason to dive into this now or would it be best for them to continue to work on it?
>>2748034Wait until P16 which will address a lot of P15's itemization feedback and add more content and mounts. That being said, I have 5000 hours in Warframe and already put ~500 hours into Soulframe. Currently MR18 in Soulframe.>>2741333You should be drowning in weapons to level but armor fragments come from fables and bosses and faction vendors. http://avakot.org is your friend.
>>2748034It's in a decent spot but it still lacks a proper endgame or reason to play co-op. As a LR5 Warframe player I'd say they're completely different games except for the mastery grinding which is very similar, you just sort of like it or not. The game itself is graphically beautiful and just a pure comfy time, will likely be popular with the grills since it takes some stuff from OoT and it's all about saving cute animals and protecting nature against a combine-tier threat through extreme violence.
really love the game so far. I had picked the spirit class oscelda because I figured leveling that up first will enable better coop later on.I finally got a bow I can use and I have the magic sidearm for backup and it is pretty satisfying to use the bow.
Does this do the thing Warframe does where certain story missions lock you out of the rest of the game once you start it until you finish it?
>>2714283It's so cringe how DE are unaware they are a one hit wonder company, none of the people working at the company are good at what they do. They lucked out with Warframe, just go all in on that you stupid cunts.
Been having a bug the last few days where all the tooltips and loot info is partially offscreen.pretty sure I've scrapped some nice drops because of this - hopefully they sort it out soon
>>2772086yeah seems to happen randomly, mostly fixed by relogging or restarting but it can be inconvenient
>>2775360there are too many things in this game that are fixed by relogging, shit sucks.
Is it just fantasy warframe or is there more to it? I was finally able to let warframe go when I realized the game was willing to eat up infinite amount of my time.
>>2782725it's still got some scifi elements and themes. the biggest difference is the open world and character movement. the systems are very warframe, but the game itself feels more elden ring.
>>2771963Kind of but they're only like 1-2 hours.
So I've been enjoying they game and plan to see most of the quest content they have, but what exactly do they want from players during the preludes? should we be giving feedback somewhere?
>>2794679https://forums.soulframe.com/forum/11-feedback/Yes
>>2721597Any build is viable for standard content. In Cogah, ranged, whether bow or magic, is really the only viable thing. Doesn't matter how well you build for defense and healing, you're not gonna last long as a solo melee in Cogah because the enemies hit like trucks and stunlock just as easy and when you're by yourself there's no reviving.
>>2831757A skilled duelo can survive Cogah but yeah melee kinda sucks for cogah right now.
>>2835033To a certain level. But that's also true for Garren Rood and Bromius. I don't agree with the very existence of Cogah, but if they're going to insist on it, they should at least change it to be a permanent mode, and just have the world level go down by one or two on death instead of kicking you out of cogah. That way dying isn't just instant end (which is a bullshit death 99% of the time) but dying still bears a significant penalty because it takes effort to reach and kill two agari, you would naturally find an equalibrium of a level you can pefrom at, an get punished for going higher but not forced to redo an entire grind due to a single mistake or bullshit encounter. That's just me thinking of a way to manage cogah fairly. In my personal opinion though, do away with it completely and start from scratch on difficulty, like just make boss fight more engaging with more complex patterns and phases, or add some kind of endless mode to crypt or undercity where you go deeper down and the further you get the tougher the enemies and more restrictions are placed on you. Some shit like that, I don't know what the exact solution for challege is, but I know Cogah ain't it. Frankly they'd be better off implementing cosmetic trinkets like capes and shit before focusing on difficulty because fashion lasts longer than challenge and it'd be better for longevity to have some kind of tennogen equivalent and start doing event cosmetics.
/wfg/ is too shit for my tastes and no one responds to my posts, so I'm going to be posting here. Anyone have Rubico and Tenora (prime versions)? Thinking of getting them. Tenora reminds me of the Truman, a nice big machine gun.
Should I pick up a Braton Riven for my Braton Prime (no incarnon adapter)? When do you pick up a Riven for a weapon? How many times do you reroll or, or when do you give up on rerolling?
>>2843452Rivens are always optional.
>>2843452If you really love a weapon, invest in it with a Riven. But they're always optional and expect to be gouged on plat. It's a whale's market plain and simple.
