Every season so far it's been the same story. I'm 2W-4L out of my last 6 averaging a I'm usually mid 20ks, I always get started in blue and purple lobbies, I always play really well but it's hard carrying people who are bots at the game. You don't have a rating to just attach yourself to. I'm not that anon but when I played at a high level in 1.6 there were no ratings. I mean you could look up someones steam ID and see what teams and cal divisions they played in, but you had to learn to tell how good people are by watching them play. Being obsessed with rating can slow down your improvement too. Sometimes being too scared to lose rating will cause you to not improve things you are bad at/avoid maps you are bad at/ shit like that.

How come I keep defaulting back to 1280x960? My PC has no problem running higher resolutions and I feel like I have better visual clarity yet for some reason the shooting, moving and enemy models just feel more natural on 1280x960.

On the topic of monitors, a few months ago I bought a second hand 240hz Zowie just to see if they really are better than say a fast IPS panel and if I could bare using a fuck ugly TN panel again.The reduction in motion blur is just insane. My last monitor was already really fast with I think 95% response times within interval at 240hz but Dyac and the TN response times are extremely noticable. Every frame is like a still image, there is no real sense anymore of movement. I do think there are other technologies out there which also do this, Nvidia Pulsar is insane and OLED in general has extremely low motion blur (but more than Zowie with Dyac).If you like playing CS and other shooters I would very, very strongly recommend making sure you get a monitor which has a strong focus on motion blur reduction. My spray control, reaction time and accuracy on moving targets has very significantly improved due to this.

I would genuinely love someone who's got like a Ph.D in Psychology or Psychiatry or whatever to do a study on people who cheat in competitive video game. Because I really do think it's like a sign of a greater personality or like a prelude to greater anti-social behavior and I think it would be interesting to see if there's any correlation between cheaters in online games and like sociopathy or psychopathy. Fair amount of discussion on the map pool currently in here- doesn't it make sense at this point to take out the least played map and the most played map every season at this point? There are now 10 active duty maps (active duty + Train/Overpass/Vertigo), so it's absolutely viable to cycle them like this. Taking out only one really only replaces the permaban, so effectively it's a 6 map pool with the 7th map being a game of chicken.

I just wish people played the game slower. I'm watching Blast and I realize that pros aren't even taking first engagement until a minute into the round, after initial utility fades. Meanwhile I'm at 20k premier and I feel like 99% of rounds are already finished by the 1 minute mark. It's not uncommon to play a game where the first death of the round is <20 seconds into the round. I get expecting pro level plays in pugs is retarded, but the fact that 'wait until the utility is spent' is a super high level concept for people makes me realize how fucking retarded the average person is.

There is literally zero point to paying for Faceit Premium in NA. I broke down and bought it after a few games with people with weak mental just throwing. Just was given a random premier game against a 5-stack of unranked players. -500/+200 but it was an easy 13-0 they were clearly like new/bad players. Very curious why valves match making pairs them against a bunch of random low 20ks when even the ranking system acknowledges that the game is lopsided. I developed a new crosshair which is the perfect balance between precision, target aqcuiring speed, visibility and firepower. I used to do what the pros do but then again these are the same people who thought Krieg was a bad gun for like 3 years. It is obvious they're just ludites who follow each other. In the center there is a dot, which is used for precision. The dot represent the bullet you shoot. You have to place this right where you want to hit. Now most people make the mistake of not having a dot in the center but choosing a circle. This makes it so that you subconciously don't exactly know where to shoot. Now crosshairs which are filled int he middle represent a different problem: they obstruct your target so you can't see them properly. To fix this I added a gap between the dot and the lines. This way you can perfectly micro-adjust your aim during spray and quick flicks while also never losing track of where your crosshair is.To complete this I went into the lab and tested my accuracy depending on crosshair color. I also looked at color palette of the game. Popular colors like yellow, green and cyan are all very common. Meanwhile pink/purple is not a part of any map in rotation.
