Nullbabs having a meltie over not being able to teleport their 60,000 friends around the whole universe instantly again. Other than that same old shit. >Event going on I guess>Vanguard playtest only has 1 map and lots of lag>Twitch drops n stuff>Bellicose still best cruiser
>>2739453It almost certainly will get reverted. There's a major backlash against it already and null is a big enough source of subs that CCP can't not listen to them.Look at scarcity, it might as well have been a nullsec genocide and CCP stuck with it until the game nearly died. They won't make the same mistake again. Null's going to remain broken and EVE Online will just be this sunk cost fallacy kept alive by guys boxing 200 alts in null.
You can argue about minutiae but the fact remains that EO has so much unsolved issues around many fundamental systems that the game will never be good/"fixed". The sheer amount of efficient organization players can muster already defeats any attempts at rebalance and invalidates anything but the biggest and gayest megabloc.
>>2739659I think it might get reverted a little but not fully. Like how the original Jump changes back in the day were much harsher then got basically nerfed to shit. Or how Skyhooks were accessible 24/7 originally, and now only have a 1h window.

>>2774665Loud multibox minority can be mostly ignored. They're nearly always irrelevant players like miners or highsec gankers. If you dont plan on doing either of those you almost never need to multibox.

The problem isn't that blobs are too big is that they can send their entire blob to ruin midscale fights on the other side of the map in 15 minutes, nobody is allowed to exist that is small remotely near them.
>>2776124Scouts, cynos and scanners. I have 3 virtue scanners and 5 more regular shit scanners and I feel like I need an extra account for 3 more scanners desu.

You use them for all sorts of stuff, industry slots, market slots, research slots, FW alts, PI alts, scanning alts, scanning alts, scanning alts and also scanning alts. Even having a few low/medium SP characters just parked in different parts of space lets you quickly go to different areas to find content without having to travel. Eve's universe is pretty massive compared to other MMOs so anything you can do to cut down travel time frees up like half of your playtime. Is multiboxxing 5-10 accounts logged in at the same time a thing? Sure, but you wont even consider it unless you do specific content. But you will probably own 2-3 accounts with 3 characters on each without actually logging on them at the same time.

>>2779738Per player includes the kind of people who picked up the game once and never came back along with the ultra-casual "I've solo mined/missioned for the last ten years and never even interacted with another player beyond getting geanked" type. Doing anything significant in the game will have you run in to multiboxers. For example, among incursion runners, roughly 3/4s of the playerbase plays at least two accounts at once. In Brave in nullsec, at least half of players multibox and in PH back in the day, it was even worse. Don't even get me started on wormhole corps, I'm not sure there's a single player in j-space that doesn't multibox in some fashion. You are correct however in that high sec is the area of the game with the least amount of multiboxing (And consequently the highest amount of actual players vs accounts). At least in high sec, multiboxing only gets you more ISK/hr rather than something essential to functioning like a spare scout in wormhole space.
>>2779528
>>2779794>"I've solo mined/missioned for the last ten years and never even interacted with another player beyond getting geanked"this is actually just most of the playerbase tbqhI think you would be suprised just how much of horde was single boxing andys, the way blocs function you don't really "need" alts unless you want to make isk. You don't ever "need" your own cyno because FC will be lighting them for you and moveops will be ran for you, you don't "need" to scout because intel channels exist. obviously having an alt makes this shit 20x easier but most people literally just dont care about playing remotely optimally
>>2779794>Don't even get me started on wormhole corps, I'm not sure there's a single player in j-space that doesn't multibox in some fashion.Trying to do anything in wormholes without a dedicated scanner alt is utterly miserable. Empire FW is fairly good since the expansions/updates over the last few years. Seagulls will be a bit annoying, Battlefields got nerfed so hard no-one does them anymore and a lot of the big FW groups that used to have big fights have all deployed to null to try and scoop up some Dronelands territory. Caldari is all afk farm bots farming actually worthless LP. Gallente is an uphill battle so that can be fun if you want to be the Spartans in 300. Amarr is fairly dead I heard and doesnt really have any main groups. Minmatar is still the most organised/best but they spend most of their time in nullsec lately.
>>2795119Sucks too that pirate FW isn't going to be getting any updates anytime soon, devs are all in on the empires. >>2795139>devs are all in on the empires.Makes sense. Pirate FW was a cool idea but Insurgencies just didnt turn out as cool as people hoped, but people still really like the Empire FW. I think under-estimate multi-boxing.The position many have in these threads is always divided.Dumb to trust CCP statistics, I'm confident that any player who has been playing eve for at least 2 years has at least 2 accounts. Which is probably 80% of the playerbase. When I do play, I vary from 5 to 10 accounts. There was a youtube video of a recent mass multi-boxer who literally had over 80 accounts. The video is deleted, so perhaps he was banned or just concealing. He was using some sort of external program, that was external to the machines he was running. He was playing the game like a fucking RTS.I'm not sure how good the cheat detection is, but I am curious if they have any way to detect players who are using external programs.Perhaps their ban waves only target the most sloppy multi-boxers, as I feel that at least 2/3rd of the EO player base is using 5 or more accounts. You almost HAVE to multi-account, as the game is built around ship roles. You could try to run a solo ship, but the EO solo experience feels horrible. Then you can team up, but for some reason the game feels less fun when working as a team in a large blob.
>>2807916Honestly, EVE should've just retooled the game to function as an RTS since that's how most people play the game. There wouldn't be any problem with "multiboxing" if you just controlled all units from a single client and it was something you could seamlessly scale up or down.
>>2807966AI game generation might be cringe, but maybe I should just generate a knock-off of eve-online but make it play as an RTS.Ship/Unit counts would probably get absurd if the game went on for too long though, I would have to have a galactic reset back to 0 every few months or something.
>>2807966that doesn't really work with stuff like cyno alts, does it

Hello vmiggers, I just installed eve. I used to crab on a drake around dominion times and do other stuff in ru corps. Is there a digestible "get into the game" somewhere? I think I want to crab missions on caldari for now again, until I remember the controls. I see there are now some rewards, but the skill system seems to have stayed the same, right?
>>2821419I just googled, no one even uses the word crab anymore. How times have changed...
>>2821439crabbing refers to specific nullsec rat sites now, idk what it used to be>skill system has stayed the samesort of? nowadays everyone just buys skill injectors to get into whatever they need their alt to do instead of slowly training into it
>>2821507How do the injectors work? You can just instabuy a skill?
>>2821844pay money or isk > receive SP that you can put in whatever skill (it goes to the same pool as the SP from daily/career rewards)there's a special sale going on right now for it too
>>2821863Right, the paypig I am I bought a month of plex directly and gotten myself 100k of bonus points, which I immediately wasted, got it. Ty anon.
>>2821419If you're just looking for a short explanation on how to crab missions in 2026, your drake should still work. You can be even safer by equipping a Micro Jump Drive since mission rats can't stop you from using it and it'll put you 100km away from them, ensuring you can warp out of any situation. As for progression doing missions, the normal progression is Drake -> Raven -> Golem or Drake -> Cerberus -> Tengu if you want something smaller or Drake -> Alligator -> Rattlesnake if you want something exotic. Use whatever missile type the rat is weak against, tailor your tank to match the damage they deal, have fun. Note that a Rattlesnake or Golem will attract gankers over time.If you just want money, find groups that do incursions or homefronts, both are easy to get into and pay well for high sec.

>>2822917Be already space-famous and convince your retard followers to buy your shit.

I think that game would be far more interesting in a "no multibox" server. but that won't happen... as it brings them less money
>>2822613Thank you anon. I don't have my old accounts, I created a new one, so I am a blank slate now. I think I'll still target the drake, and maybe instead go for some fw corp. For now I am completing the different intro quests to remember mechanics and stuff. >>2824579Oh wow, that is interesting. Thank you as well.
>>2824648Different anon here. Other good strong low SP PVE ships that can do a bit of everything are shit like the Vexor/Arby kind of drone ships, the Caracal/Drake/Raven kind of missile ships, or Praxis. Praxis has a 9-day skillplan somewhere that gets you strong enough to run wormhole sites, events and 10/10s that might be worth looking at. Gila & other guristas ships are pretty good but pricy for what you get, well worth being able to fly those too if you can. Worm is essential for alpha abyssals, Rattle is a proper big-boy endgame subcap and Gila is the one-size-fits-all does-everything memeship. Do your dailies every day to keep gradually getting SP, do AIR Career Program (like achievements) and you'll get 750k SP finishing all of those, get the 1mil SP recruitment link from someone (or refer yourself) and log on during events for even more SP.
>>2827550Ty as well. The free rp shower is a bit crazy to come back to. I already got the first 75k from air, and the 1mil from some fw corp. I don't even know what to spend it all on [spiler]fuck off I won't be spending it on the le magic 14[/spoiler]. Gotten myself a corax and some skills for it, doing the sisters of eve arc for now. Also, how do I travel nullsec for small shopping of cheap stuff? Condor with sub 2s align, and should be good, right, as long as I don't go to some retarded place where its 24/7 gatecamp?
>Drake
I see there is also official in game ludo offering, raffles and hypernet. That is pretty funny. What's the point? The one doing the raffle takes significantly more money than he would on a normal sale?
>>2827701>how do I travel nullsec for small shopping of cheap stuff?dont, basically. Buy your stuff in trade hubs. You dont usually shop around in Eve. Time is money, its worth paying an extra % to just buy everything at the trade hub in one shopping/loot-selling trip than it is to spend an hour flying around a bunch of places to buy it marginally cheaper. Train for jump clones, alpha gets 1 pretty sure. That sub-2sec Condor should be a good travel fit. Put Hyperspatial rigs on it so it warps even faster.
>>2828147>The one doing the raffle takes significantly more money than he would on a normal sale?Just like a raffle in RL yeah. Buy $100 item. Sell 120 tickets for $1 each. Pocket the $20 profit. Hypernet has a lot of scams in it, but ppl use it to trade rare/expensive shit sometimes. I dont really fuck with it, but it can be fun once in a blue moon to just buy 1 node on a random pirate Battleship or something and once in a while you might win one, but like any gambling the house always wins.
>>2828164That much is obvious of couse. Somehow the launchers I wanted were not readily available (20 jumps away or in lowsec). Looked like bait, but was nothing I could not afford to loose, so I checked the kills last hour and went in-out. How would a jumpclone have helped here though, I don't get it.Ty as well for the advice. >>2828171Yeah, I figured, thx. How would a scam look like? Shit items for a very large price?
Lasers hit really hard.
>>2828323It's not really a scam, it's more a consequence of the seller able to bid on their own item>100m item>Goes on hypernet for 10 nodes of 14m>Seller buys 5 nodes>Bidders buy 5 nodes>If the seller wins the 50/50, they get their item back, the 70m they spent on nodes back, and the 70m from other bidders, they turned 170m to 240m>If they lose they lose their item but keep the 140m from the bids, they turned 170m to 140mOver a long enough time period, the seller always wins. In practice the flat fee on every bid eats away at some profits, that's why it's pretty much always huge items up for raffle.
>>2828323Oh JC was just general advice. Hopefully whereever you set up home there's some sort of hub nearby.
>>2831874Now that I am done with blood-stained stars, I crawled to poinen (3 jumps from jita), since there are a lot of t2 agents. I'll run missions to get an MTU and a caracal. Checked zkill, and its all ganks.>>2828781Got it, ty
>>2831931Caldari lp is worth shit since it's heavily farmed in highsec and the same items are available in Caldari fw store when they have the most bots and randos flying around doing fw sites.

>Full clear the new rogue drone fabricator site>Pays out 3b ISK for six hours of work
>>2837675I heard about em here and there. What are they exactly? What ships do ppl run them in? Is it soloable or does it require 5 alts like all the other new shit?
>>2837767It's a site that spawns 100 waves of rogue drones that do nothing but EM/TH damage. You can't really solo all 100 waves, but you can get pretty far with the right ships. The site has four difficulty tiers determined by how many ships and what types are inside. Easiest tier only lets you take around 10 cruisers or so (Less if they're T2, or battlecruisers, or battleships) and pays out 3-5b depending on what class of wormhole you run them in. Hardest tier is for capital ships like dreads and faxes and spawns a massive amount of drones. Pays out up to 40b ISK if you clear all 100 waves at the highest difficulty in C5/C6 space (Or around 24b if you do the site in C1-C3 space, just as an estimation). The site's pretty retarded for risk/reward though. You only get the loot if you kill the structure that holds it between waves, and doing so ends the site. So if you start a wave and someone drops you, they can kill you, finish the wave, and loot the site in your place. Normally, that wouldn't be a problem and just the cost of doing business, but because clearing all 100 waves can take around 5-6 hours, it's possible to sit in the site for a long time and lose the loot plus all the ships you brought in.Damage inside is very split between everyone in the site, and rats swap frequently. Trying to multibox beyond two or three boxes as logistics is way too much effort. Logistics have the hardest time in the site playing whack a mole because the rats all do heavy damage (Between 250-750 DPS depending on ship class, and you can't sig tank any of it).I've heard one group used Guardians and Harbingers to clear up to wave 73, not sure what they got paid for it. Because the damage is very high but the DPS splits, I'm guessing that trying to solo or a very small fleet can't really handle it all. Loot for the site is weighted so that clearing wave 50 only gets you like 25% of the total site value, it's the last 30 waves that pay out the most.
>>2837839One thing that is kind of nice for the site though is that finding a single site can last your fleet hours. In theory, we used to roll our static to run C4 sites, and each roll would be a new wormhole that may or may not have sites up, or have hot connections, or whatever. With this site, we roll our exit and find this one site and can run for the rest of the night. No more rage rolling or ratting time lost to it, we're engaged from the minute we walk into the site until we're done running for the night. It really just needs its payouts adjusted so incursions in high sec don't beat it in payout.
>>2837839>You can't really solo all 100 waves, but you can get pretty far with the right ships. So people take a Marauder/Rattlesnake, go until they hit a wave they have to overheat in, loot it and warp out with a couple bil?
>>2837839It's quite good isk/hr relative to character for up to 3 marauders in low class. Auto-targeting missile Golems clear it very efficiently.
>>2838160More or less. You go until you get bored or panic, but cutting the site short drops the ISK/hr significantly. I think if you were looking to do the site for income, you'd really want to hit at least wave 50 consistently and wave 70+ would be where you want to make at least half the site's value.>>2838213I don't know if I'd want to put that much ISK on grid for two or three hours for it to recoup its costs. It might work, but the risk to reward ratio is far too skewed in my opinion.
>>2838413You only need to complete 1 fab to wave 60 or so to pay for 3 marauders and it only takes about an hour. Nothing in the site scrams so you can just put a boosher on a perch and the moment you get a new sig you can leave. Or better yet don't, and watch all the tackle get evaporated by the sites.Marauders aren't that expensive anymore. You can do a competent fit for 1.2b and Mid-grade crystals are cheap as shit (like 300m for the set) and almost guaranteed to escape even if the Marauder dies.
I want to jump into this game but I don't want to/have time to play multiple account aka multiboxing, do any of you guys here only play on a single account?
>>2838532People multibox because it saves time. A lot of time.
>>2838532I play a single account to have fun in the game. I multibox to fund my single account activities. From PvP to PvE, I'd rather run a single box and fully focus on what I'm doing. Abyssal Deadspace, mission running, DED sites, all of those are fine to do with a single box. More boxes in PvP makes you more effective, but every box you add splits your attention and for smaller gang stuff, it's fine to have one character backing a small fleet.Where multiboxing really dominates is the economy. Multiboxers make far more ISK/hr than a single box because they can run multiple activities at the same time or fill up a fleet on their own. Every additional character is extra industry and PI slots. It's hard to argue that EVE hasn't reached a point where the game expects you to multibox or buy PLEX to be economically viable, at least in terms of being able to continually buy ships and items from the market to replace your losses. So if you don't multibox, your choices are to buy PLEX for real cash and trade it for ISK, grind like hell to pay for the things you like, or do stuff where you never lose a ship so you don't have to spend money to replace it.
>Consider consolidating all of my capitals spread all over lowsec>Actually look at what I'd need to do>like 30 mids from every corner of space where I've dropped things out of wormholes and decided I'd move them later>Give up
I have bought a drake today finally :3I also did a retarded fit:https://pastebin.com/7U4ktLm2It was less retarded initially, but it was so sluggish without an mwd...Is there a way to be less retarded with HAMs?
>Shield Power Relay II
>>2838532Most people single box. Almost everyone has multiple characters/accounts cuz it saves travel time.Multboxxing is mostly only something you see in specific and honestly very boring activities. It's been a hot topic recently because there was a big fight in a controversial part of space known for being where a bunch of multiboxxers live, and dudes controlling 70 accounts with macros and claiming they don't.
>>2739453Hi, I'm semi-oldfag and I want to play the game again.Last time I played the game was back in 2012, and I think I played something like 10-12 hours total.I want to play again, because I see they have opened that Exordium baby kiddie pool for new players. Can I get some realistic expectations on what I'm about to play? I always liked this game, I just always felt "late" because most corps are lowsec bandits, or blobbed gigacorps.I really just want to learn how to play the game properly instead of literally do nothing but ratting for 10 hours straight.Genuine and honest post.
stop posting that retarded pic
Ok then help me instead.
>>2844673Exordium has very little content, but it is completely safe. You won't make hardly any money in there but you can fly as much as you want without anyone bothering you.If you're wanting to learn how to play for real, go join an NPSI fleet and fly with them. Most of them hand out ships, so if you meet them in a shuttle, you have nothing to lose. You can learn how to fly with a fleet and how to do PvP/PvE from there.
It’s been like 5/6 years since the Jamal Heresy. Can I join All-Out back finally?
>>2844673>Can I get some realistic expectations on what I'm about to play?Space Albion Online with a 10x bigger map and more shit to do. Worst case, play it for free for a few months. You can do basically whatever you want in Eve, limited only by your creativity and game knowledge (as in intel, geographical/political knowledge and knowing when to run and when to fight). In general the game is in a relatively healthy place the last few years. Nothing as huge as the glory days of 2012-2014, but still much more alive than it was in the dark years of 2018~2023.
>>2846569Does All Out actually do anything?
>>2845979>You won't make hardly any money in thereReally? Not even a billy?>>2846636I was asking about Exordium in particular, but thanks.
This is not how tracking works, do these dev even play their game?
>>2846849Idk I just miss Satori. He was a beautiful soul
>>2847010The only thing that returns anything close to decent ISK in Exordium is blitzing T0 abyss or running homefronts. Missions pay out next to nothing, mining sites yield half of what high sec ores do, and even homefronts only have half the payout you'd normally get.
>>2844673>>2847010exordium teaches you the tropes, but it also teaches you some really bad habits like never checking dscan or flying shitfits.you can spend as much time as you want there, but you should really move outside newbsec eventually.all those horror stories you may have heard are just stories, the game got significantly more solo-friendly than 15 years ago, and gankers wont bother unless you have hundreds of PLEXes worthy of cargo on you or are flying a blingy fit.
>>2846849Fuck off we're full
>This is not how tracking workshow is it not
You could save time and money by coming to Amarr facwar
>>2847010Oh my bad, Exordium is cool but even as a brand new player you'll move on after 1-2 nights. Its literally Eve's Tutorial Island and its designed for you to want to move out after a couple of days of learning the ropes. Taxes are high, content there pays like ass and the mining is shit.
I've bitten the bullet, bought a gila, what should I fit it with? 4 LSEs, shield relays?
>>2858665Passive gila is worse than active because nirvanas are like 3b compared to crystals being 300m. Mid grade crystals are one of the most cost effective boosts to tank at current prices.
why are pve niggers like this
