Once Monsters and Memories drops I'm probably quitting FFXI for good, i don't care of Catseye has abyssea, i don't care if Horizon has TOAU, i don't care if Phoenix has TOAU from the beginning, i just don't. I'm not starting over again for the nth time, doing all my rank and other missions, leveling and gearing up, spending hundreds of hours in exp parties, that's a big fucking nope from me dawg.

It went into Beta Testing (I still never got an invite and I don't have friends), they got rid of one of the original developers for reasons unknown, delayed the release by months, and I haven't heard anything since. I want to like it but it just looks bland. The game just doesn't seem like it has any of the charm of the old school MMOs it's trying to model after.

>>2791162I played the open beta, it's nowhere near as polished as FFXI was when it released. FFXI was perfect in Zilart. Back in 2003 it was like a streamlined, very aesthetically pleasing departure from EverQuest, DAOC, UO, AO, and pretty much everything else. I can't imagine we'll ever see another developer pay so much attention to the UI in its stock form, it's like playing with Android 4 for years and then finally getting your hands on an iPhone.
