Is the B I G A S S H O R S E ever playable in CMs? I've only used her for the first sprint and she underperformed next to curren and falcon.

Seiun Stam guarantees dodging danger, Falco has prudent positioning + groundwork guaranteed. Then you can run say Suzuka stam/speed freebies for more skill hints, bourbo for taking the lead. Then you chase after ignited wit. For trainees, depends on if you're looping in dirt races or not. El and Maruzensky are nice because they can do dirt G1s easily. Falco is also nice for doing dirt G1s but you need turf sparks in your rotation to make it work. Has innate prudent which is nice. Characters with nice skills on their kit are good too. I like Fujin because she has dodging danger on her kit, Kitasan has firm resolve and prudent positioning.

Basically, just set up an auto-run in MANT, schedule only non-graded races. Basically, your schedule should be all blue, your trainee needs to run 30 races total. If you run 26, you'll get 30 if you include the maiden race and URA races, I've got a slight example in the picture here. I'll open a room in an hour and the race will start either when the room is filled or a few hours after opening if it doesn't fill.

This is why people "overprepare" because when push comes to shove, finals tends to have the hardest opponents for a reason, usually the ones who metafagged the hardest. Some people get lucky with finals matchmaking, but that's not been my experience since the very start of the game. My stuff was pretty last minute and while I did just fine most of the CM, I was no match against "perfect" xoggers with quad debuffers in finals. I just didn't grind out aces long enough. Maybe with better luck in the race itself I would have had a chance, but it's also a strategy issue too. If I had run a different team comp, I'd have a slightly better chance but it was difficult.At least this time around it's less likely to be a carbon copy for finals, but you likely will see debuffers anyway. So it's good to be prepared and aim higher. A lot of is less about parents and more about just grinding for the high roll, where you get the stats you want, mile S, and your event chains finish. Depending on class parents are more important, like fronts needed to inherit 3-4+ and greens every time. For a backliner there is a decent amount of abilities you can squeeze in for parents but at the same time, you need to give yourself enough to actually grind out ace runs, so after a certain point grinding you need to work towards a dedicated "good eough" parent as they say, cut off the loop, and keep doing ace runs until you get a formidable one where everything lines up. May get lucky, may take a while. Personally last time I spent too long aimlessly looping but it was more because I was too lazy to learn the mode. I've already got some preliminary aces and at least one grandparent, so i'd say I'm about 1/3 of the way done parents wise. Give yourself like a week for aces.

Then Finemo is a good option because of the high race bonus. Then usually it's Tachyon, Kita, Sweep Tosho can work.A lot of people run Marvelous Power just like they did in MANT because of the 15% race bonus which just bloats your rating in auto for some reason. Even guts cards like Urara and Ayabe can net you very high ratings even if you crammed in every possible G1, which can lower your rating. Generally speaking you can do all of the turf G1s and not worry about "too many races" If you aren't doing literally every dirt G1 on top of that, so you shouldn't have to worry about your rating too much. But yeah go with cards that have high race bonus and initial stats which are good for crossing the SS line in Auto.
